Pigeon Hill Homesteaders
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 16 ธ.ค. 2018
We're a family of self sufficient homesteaders sharing lifestyle of living sustainably by hunting, fishing, gardening, foraging, preserving and conserving.
Living off the land as much as we can, with the resources we have.
We want to share our lives to help other people learn how to live the simple life. So whether you're looking for time saving tips, cheap life hacks to stretch your budget, or inspiration to connect with nature and your food by learning to fish, forage, hunt, garden or raise your own meat; we do it all.
We camp, hike, kayak and bike as well. You'll find us in the woods or at home most days.
We also homeschool! We're all life learners and are passing on our skills to the next generation.
We hope you'll follow us and let us know you're experiences and knowledge as well because we all know that's the most valuable thing.

Absolutely adorable 😻.
That’s true, idk 17 and I’ve got 7 ole reds in my collection
Cuttings must be dormant
Thank you! We'll try again in the winter.
I have a spring that feeds my pond. Burn the area around the spring every year, and you shouldn’t have to worry anymore
I'm not surprised if a vegan reports you
But by hatching more chickens aren't you just making the "too many eggs" problem worse
That's chicken math for ya 😄 Actually it's a bit of a joke. We are using them up now, more customers, more baking now that we got our kitchen renovation done. Our original customers are spreading the word, even though we originally intended to just produce for our own family.
Pet the baby's for me
Will do! They're getting lots of attention from our kids. They were absolutely lit up to watch the chicks hatch!
Beautiful story
Thank you
Hello world!!!
Out of curiosity did it. I hurt you guys a little to put on down. I am not being judgmental at all. I'm just curious if You felt that because I will still eat george all day
Good question. It was different for each of us. J was a butcher, and our older boys have hunting experience, so they handled it best. I cried a little but I wasn't sad, just REALLY appreciative. We've always been really sensitive to an animals' sacrifice like that. Our youngest son is dramatic and he refused to eat the meat for the first 5 seconds but after that first bite he couldn't resist 😂
George looks happy! 🤣
😆
I like how you added water sounds like it was a really flowing stream when it's very stagnant. But it did give it a more wonderful ambience with the sound.
Thank you. Didn't mean for it to be deceptive 😉 just add to the vibe, ya know? It's definitely just a trickle stream. But it's drawing deer and other wildlife so I love it!
Do you have a method you could share
Not really but the red light was a recent discovery- we used to use a regular white light but it spooked them quick. They hardly notice the red light so you actually have a chance to grab em. They come out to lay on the surface pretty much every night after heavy rain.
Livin' the life, my friend.
Yes mam. It's a dream
bro everytime i hear this sound, i hear a "humptydumpty-dumpty" because of my AJR brainrot
What?
@@Gacma21 just listen to AJR, you'd get it
BYE IM DYING RN
I love ajr dude listen to them 24/7 💀

My dog did this with the grease bucket for my dads grill. We tried to get it off but she kept bucking around cuz she was scared. Eventually it came off on its own thank goodness
🤣
Rochelle Erickson 😂
i sorry,looks fake.
I definitely wouldn't have done that on purpose for the internet 🫠 but I can see why you thought it looked staged. People do some crazy things for content!
My white German Shepard did the same thing, as a puppy. She must have gotten some Oxygen cut off. She wasn’t the brightest!
poor pup 😂
I think it’s a tractor.
I think you're right 😂
Joe biden for prison
Awww... you fixed it one handed too. Goats are troublemakers 😂😂
Like the big guy, he’s in the way of everything 😂.
🤣 truth
If you haven’t tried vibrating the ground, it’s fun and wild seeing them pop out lol.
I've tried that. Didn't work for me.
Nothing better than a puppies!
How?
After rainy days, they're just chillin at night.
@@pigeonhillhomesteaders thanks
get some beavers and you can have a lake eventually
That would be great 😂
👍👍👍
Wtf happened
Nightcrawlers
@@pigeonhillhomesteaders what's that
A type of worm that makes the best fishing bait. They sell them by the dozen for over 6 bucks at gas stations around here. (And they're usually half dead) so finding your own fresh is great.
@@skylabond4606go outside after a good rain shower(especially at night) and you’ll see worms all over.
You're right not to trust pigs
Pigs are nice!
I agree. They do seem nice, but ours are pushy. No boundaries.
One of the hogs looks, liked trump and his son.
Their coloring definitely reminds me of DJT Jr now that ya mentioned it 😂
Its really easy. .. Id be having me a chicken dinner tonite then.. No more pecking at your eggs 👊👍👍
We'll see... I think she's just in a mood 😆 happens to the best of us.
Where can I buy the thicker gasket lids you have?
They're superb brand. I found them at the local country store.
@@pigeonhillhomesteaders Thank you so much!
👍👍👍👍👍
the government is lying about: fluoride safety in water; safety/efficacy of waxxines; the best human diet; humans causing climate change; just to name a few things
Exactly. Everything is cattywampus. Definitely makes you want to create some order and safety in your own home, right?
wonderful video
Wow thank you!
I've always reused the Ball lids. I'm a rebel canner. Lol 😂😂😂 I just heat those lids and I've had very few lid failures. I do use new lids if canning milk just for extra protection.
Love to hear that. Thanks for sharing! I'm such a newb so it's great to hear others' experiences to learn from.
Nice lids
Only a fellow canner would make the compliment 😆 thank you. They're superb brand- not sponsored but should be! 👌
Barred rocks don't like to share their eggs😅
Apparently! 😆
that spooked you? chickens do that all day lol
Yes. It was right in my ear 😂 I've been scared of chickens since the great rooster attack of 2016. I just don't trust those cluckers!
😂😂 I'm dead.
Yeah. She caught me off guard 😂
The government also wants to know if you have a few hens for eggs they want you register your birds so they know who to go after when they don't want you being self sufficient.
Exactly... guess the only response is "come and take em"
The government is all of the sudden going nuts over bird flu when it's been a miner issue for decades and all the sudden they are trying to kill of billions of birds for no good reason.
Weird right? Can't ever figure out what they're doing. But whatever it is, ain't no good for us 😆
Good job. Bless you all.
Thank you 😊
Was listening to this song right before this how funny
Love that song!
0Talk too much 😂 Get down to the act(on
That's what she said.
Nice!
Right!? Thanks for geeking out over water with us. It's such a big deal. We will be working on it over the summer once the house rehab is complete. I cant wait
@@pigeonhillhomesteaders it’s definitely a big deal. One day you will have a nice creek and endless source of water! Super jealous
Thanks for the annoying music 🖕
You're welcome 😂😂😂
Are you in Oxfordshire?
No
They look good!
Thanks! I'll have to make you some this summer. Don't have many left at the moment but I'll get you some fresh made ones. You'll love them!
