1:12 Es ist schön und wohltuend, diesen satten Klang ohne Vibrato zu hören. Einerseits bin ich erstaunt, dass es durchaus einige intonatorische Unstimmigkeiten gibt (die im Studio aufgenommenen Beiträge BEIDER Ensembles sind SEHR sauber), andererseits habe ich schon bei Voces 8 und den King´s Singers erfahren müssen, dass es dann doch einige Unterschiede zwischen Konzertmitschnitt und Studioaufnahme gibt. Als erfahrener Laiensänger würde ich mal behaupten, dass ich (und viele andere Laiensänger auch) dieses intonatorische Niveau - einige Probenzeit in einem entsprechend sauber singenden Ensemble vorausgesetzt - durchaus auch an den Tag lege. (Das Intonationsniveau ist vergleichbar mit dem, was ich aus einigen alten Konzertmitschnitten von Konzerten kenne, bei denen ich mitgesungen habe.) Jetzt wäre ich natürlich daran interessiert, wie man diesen Schritt von sehr guter Leistung (Konzert) zu perfektem Wohlklang (Studio) hinkriegt. [Da stellt sich natürlich auch die Frage an mich: Warum singst Du selber nicht professionell? Zum einen ist der Zug schon ein paar Dekaden abgefahren, zum anderen habe ich mich gefragt, wie viele Auftritte ich pro Monat machen würde, ohne die Motivation zu verlieren, denn ohne vollemotional dabei zu sein, wollte ich kein Konzert singen. Da habe ich mir gedacht, dass ich wohl nie so populär sein werden, dass ich mit zwei Auftritten im Monat meinen Lebensunterhalt - oder gar den einer Familie - verdienen werde. Also habe ich es direkt sein gelassen und mich auf die Liebhaberseite geschlagen. Ein Schritt, den ich nicht bereue. Denn gutes Singen macht Spaß. Auch wenn man im Laufe der Probenphase sich zurücknehmen muss, damit man nicht euphorisch an den Fortissimo-Stellen den ganze Chor niederbrüllt. Aber manchmal singe ich ja auch mit vollem Orchester. Da fällt es nicht so auf.😂]

I'm fortunate to live near Duke University, where Voces8 will be singing at Duke Chapel in a few months time. The acoustics in that edifice are so incredible I know it will be a once in a lifetime experience. To hear such heavenly voices in such a perfect setting will be without compare.

Jon Lord hatte dieses Agnus Dei mal als Vorspiel zu ``When a blind man cries`` eingesetzt... andächtigste Stille damals bei dem Konzert - und Ihr wisst: In den ersten drei Reihen stehen da bis heute immer noch Kutten - ergraut zwar, aber in Kutte :) Diese tendenziell 'fernere Zielgruppe' sucht nach solchen Konzerten durchaus mal in diesen fremden Klassikgefilden. Und wo landen die ? Bei EUCH ! Ej ! King`s-Singers, Hilliard, Voces8... Voktett Hannover, rumgestammel... Aber das habt Ihr jetzt davon 🥀Gott mag ja zuletzt immer Engländer sein, ok :) Aber irgendein Feenstaub ist vordem sanft leise über Hannover herab gerieselt... dort, wo man einander zuhört, aufeinander achtet bis in die längsten Töne hinein... puh !
