I’m not sure if any of this was in Trinidad at all, except for the beach footage everything looked foreign. The boys on the tricycles certainly aren’t dressed for tropical weather, the buildings don’t look like homes in the tropics at that time AND there are absolutely no people of color anywhere to be seen.

Those colonizers had a good ol' hell of a time didn't they?

Right after independence T&T economy began to decline. High level crime began to increase such as, raping, murderers, hacking, gun violence, kidnapping, drug dealing, gang activity, discrimination, depression, corrupted politicians, and many more crime madness activity. It's no longer safe country entire caribbean. It's disgrace to humanity now. Independence was all lie to gain wealth and power.

A lot of Whites fled Trinidad in the 1960's to 70's. A lot went to the UK, didnt some go to Barbados?

What a time if you were British! Living the high life off the sweat of the local people and making sure they lived in shanty towns while Trinidad's British masters lived the high life in lovely homes and estates. The joys of colonialism.

These are the British people that exploit the colony and land of Trinidad. The white man and his family living there flee the country very fast before trinidad gain its independence in the 1962. I ran into a white woman in her 70's, she said in those times Jumbo jets were loaded with white people escaping the country because they don't know what a new government will do to them. The white man had slaves black and east indian working the sugarcane, coco and coffee plantation before slavery was abolish in 1834.

You can't see who is black and white in B/W film unless they are African black. Depending on the depth of the colour light colours reflect and black absort the colour, so it was actually difficult to film very dark skinned people as you couldn't see they properly or next to something very light you don't see them at all. That can still apply even now with some film. If you look at the features you will are both but often it is the Scandinavians or Europeans who had the cameras as they were very expensive and the camera was probably owned by the company their worked for as still happened during the war. If you wanted to take pictures you had to ask the Colonel. It was Europe that came up with the ideas of and ability to take film and although there are many travel and scenic films most were historical family pictures but if you look there are black families there with their family too and extended white family. Not forgetting Trinidad has black and white roots. Wonderful footage and rather cleverly done, an artist at work and a picture of the way we saw of Trinidad of sun, fun and wonderful people, in those days very unusual as people did not travel very much and seemed a world a way. It took a stop over in the Azores stop over pick-up for more petrol and propeller plane to get there. In the 1920's it was probably Geest banana boat and a great adventure for those going there and those receiving the travellers. Can a place change so much? Many have sadly. Fly Mongoose for Road March!!!

This was taken about 5 miles off Castara on the northern coast of Tobago. I only wish I had an underwater camera to record what I saw. Truly wonderful.

What a wonderful experience…I would rank the excitement up there with swimming with turtles in Hawaii…WHOoo HOOOo!! I am smelling all that salt air from that blue-green water and getting "Tizic!!" :) Pray tell, where did this take place?
