Great
This is an amazing presentation. I am from Ghana and want to be help to contact Prof.
you are welcomed to contact me at zulq@um.edu.my my apologies for the delay in replying, because I didn't look at the comments section of this video
Studying for a doctorate in Malaysian universities can indeed be a complex endeavor, as there are several challenges that students often encounter. One of the primary obstacles stems from the lack of interest and poor understanding of the supervisors. Additionally, the supervisor's relationship with the examiners can influence the outcome of the final discussion. The examiners hold significant sway in determining the quality and validity of the research, as well as the student's overall performance. If the supervisor has a positive rapport with the examiners, it can impact their evaluation of the student's work.
was listening to the talk live. Very engaging speaker!
FIrst!
Thank you for your powerful tips
Never thought Genetics would affect individual behavioural (psychology, suicide etc) as well. Before this just thought on the environmental factors (except Genetics disorder that surely affect behaviour of the individual such as Down Syndrome)
Thank you Prof for explaining each of these summarized points 😭
👍
Thank you Prof for all of these videos. Will see them by each day each video

Good morning Prof, is microsatellite = STS?
A Microsatellite locus can be considered as an STS.

Hi prof, I have a question (actually more of a thought rather than a question) regarding the products of mitochondrial vs nuclear genome. To make a fully functional product (e.g. NADH dehydrogenase), we will require subunits coded by both the genomes. If the endosymbiotic theory holds true, some of these subunits may have already been synthesized by the mitochondria before they were 'ingested' by eukaryotes. Do you think the subunits coded by the mitochondrial genome alone (without the subunits coded by the nuclear genome), would have produced a different fully-functional product? What are your thoughts?
...Okay that question should have been phrased better 😂 Anyway, for the endosymbiotic theory to hold true, a number of coincidences must fall into place. The nuclear genome must, by chance, code for an incomplete product, whereby its other puzzle pieces must be, by chance, coded by the mitochondrial genome. How likely do you think is this possibility, Prof?
Thank you for keep uploading the videos Prof. Is there any Carry Mark Test or Quiz after this?
Hi Prof! I've been watching all the videos, just wanna ask if Prof is gonna do more vids on other Chapters? Since we are now in Chapter 16. Also, I would like to ask that in this course, what is the gist? I am still confused of what am i supposed to study in this course. Yes I have read the outcome from the proforma but I am still unclear about the big picture. Is what we learning in this course about the composition and function of the human genes, and also pedigrees? is there anything that I missed out? Thank you Prof for sacrificing your Sundays for making these videos!
Alpiage Mizzy Hi, i’ve been out of the country, and will do more videos when i get back. The gist? well, 1) the organization and content of the human genome 2) the human genome project 3) how do we do physical maps 4) how do we do genetic maps 5) how do we research genetic diseases (the various approaches, including functional and positional cloning. Thats where we’re at, at the moment. later, 6) we’re gonna look at several examples on human genetic disease research 7) Next gen sequencing approaches to researching genetic diseases and 8) cancer genetics.
