Bicycling in Alaska. Glaciers, Sea Lions and lots of weather
I recently did a trip with Backroads to Alaska. The weather was mostly bad, but the trip could not have been more amazing. We saw massive waterfalls, sea lions gorging on salmon, plenty of glaciers and the placid waters of Prince William Sound. I blogged my way through and around the Chugach mountains to share it here on the channel. I hope you enjoy the trip. By the way, there's more if you want to check out my blog at Carlinthecyclist.com #alaska #bikealaska #bicycleadventure #bicycle #glacier #waterfall #waterfalls #cycling

Cycling End to End on the Erie Canal
มุมมอง 7K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Erie Canal Trail stretches 400 miles from Buffalo to Albany, NY and I rode the entire route. Over eight days I recorded the scenery, the setbacks, and my thoughts as we learned how the Erie Canal was built and how it changed the then fledgling United States. We biked along with about 600 other people as part of the annual ride sponsored by Parks & Trails New York. Every morning we set out t...
Exploring Cleveland on a bike

I rented a bicycle in Cleveland and went out to see what I could find. I like to ride bikes in all kinds of places, but the big city was a bit intimidating. Cleveland, however, has a nice trail network, and I wanted to see a bit of Lake Erie. What I found was a whole lot more. #cleveland #bikecleveland @thisiscleveland #exploring @ohioanderiecanalway #ohioanderiecanalway My ride on Strava www.s...

Well done on your video! It brings back great memories as I too rode the entire length from Buffalo to Albany. Also, I was only two tents away from you in the Comfy Campers tent city, so I was in familiar territory! This was a marvelous ride, incredibly historical, with wonderful biker buddies and such supportive and friendly people in the pass-through and overnight towns. Truly a memorable experience!

When is this group ride scheduled each year(dates)? I plan to this ride next year (starting in Kansas City MO and all on bike paths) but don't want to be in the crowds! I think it is great you all got together but I just want a little more solitude.. Great video. . I rode the canal solo in mid 90's. It has changed (improved) a lot. Very few riders then. To one boomer from another, happy trails! Great video. Good to see people happy!🌐

Nice video, thank you!. I just saw an event over there on March, and thinking to attend. I really like trails without cars or pedestrians, and that one looks pretty busy, and short!. Your video helped me to look in another place to ride mi bike. By the way, you should adjust your helmet's straps around your ears. =)

I find HH really difficult to cycle around. They like to tout their multi-use paths, but as a whole it's one of the most car-centric places I've ever visited. The "stop signs" they put on the path every time it crosses the road are ludicrous (they make cyclists into instant criminals, and it's an easy way to make sure drivers are never at fault in an accident), and as your video shows, they paths are narrower than they should be for the amount of traffic they get. The fact that there are no spaces safe to ride your bike at 18+mph on the *entire island* just baffles me. Meanwhile there are two WIDE lanes on 278 mostly filled with people driving their SUV's a mile to the Walmart at 60mph. It's a shame. IMO 278 should be one lane, 35mph. Add a protected bike/bus lane with a bus or trolley going each direction around 278 in a loop. Then make the existing multi-use path into a pedestrian-only path. Way too conservative there for that to ever happen, but I can dream...

Hello John, we love to go to Hilton Head. We usually go out of Sea Pines on our bikes and try to circle the island coming back across the bridge which is the only hill that you might encounter. Doing that you can get in 25 plus miles. Be sure to get the gate code before you leave Sea Pines so you can get back in. Have fun.

Hi, I'm Stuart with Blue Ridge Off-Roade Cyclists. I think would be cool if we had a mounting bike group for older riders. We could do skill clinics to improve ride safety on difficult trails. There are a lot of older riders like me who want to do fun stuff but not at the speed of risk/reward that the kids can take. What do you think? I like your vid btw.
