Thanks for the video. How is holding up the Pyro cage? We are looking for USA made foldable fire pit/bbq for our camper van, would you suggest to buy?
Propane is good down to -44 Degrees F or -42 degrees C. You wont have an issue with Propane in cold weather.
@@michaelswonderfulworld I hope we never have to test that out, lol!
@HEKNBAK Me either, Butane is fairly useless, anything under zero it's unusable, propane is good and cheap and available everywhere. Michael
@@michaelswonderfulworld we've had very little experience with butane, so that's good to know!
I really enjoyed this video. We spent 2 days at Lake Hope SP and had a great time
Thank you! We enjoyed Lake Hope also. We had heard quite a bit about Hocking Hills but didn't even know about Lake Hope until we couldn't get a site at Hocking Hills and started looking for alternatives. Such a beautiful area!
Ponca also is the "jumping" off point for floating the Buffalo National River.
@@GerryHemmer good to know! We saw some outfitters in the area as we drove through. I imagine the area would be even more beautiful by river.
A pretty place.
@@scottevans5038 we were surprised by how beautiful the whole area is. We had never been to southeast Ohio. Loved exploring it!
Informative! Look forward to the next one!
@@BrianWest58 thanks for watching and commenting!
LOL I get fired all the time to. Glad I am not alone lol.
@@tonyabrowninghikes I love knowing that! He complains a lot, but it's all in jest - well usually, lol!
@HEKNBAK mine thinks I bring him on trips with the plans to leave him behind🤣
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
@@GetOutBeHappy thanks! We enjoy learning about new state parks, well new to us, lol!
Somehow i missed this series on Ohio. I love Hocking hills and want to go back this year in better weather. going to be using some of your trip ideas I think. Have a great new year!
@@tonyabrowninghikes one of your videos inspired us to come to this area, lol! We were looking for somewhere to spend a couple days on our way to Kentucky and remembered a hike in Hocking Hills you posted. A few other people had mentioned how beautiful it is too, so we decided to check it out. I do seem to remember that hike you did was in the snow!
@HEKNBAK it's sick a cool place! I'm glad I could help. And in turn your helping me. I saved that hipcamp place you mentioned!
@@tonyabrowninghikesif you try it, let us know how it is. We're going to start trying more places like that in this next year.
@HEKNBAK i love hipcamp! But I'll definitely report back if i use that one.
It would have been nice to see how it burned with the propane vs the colemen fuel especially in the 413.
@@sharkman8810 never thought to show that but great idea! Maybe we will do another one in the future. Thanks for watching and bringing that up!
It's pronounced Ponca is pronounced Ponka.
Thanks! We sort of thought that was probably how it is pronounced.

@@JonesteadFarm thanks for watching! We were glad to be able to get out for awhile!
I enjoyed your video !! I have camped in the sites along the Clarion River at Robin Island. It appears to me as though that’s where you were when you stopped and got out to look at the river. I’ve also camped at Loleta a time or two. An interesting sidenote - the road you were on when you ended up in Lamonaville. March of 2006 I decided to go 4wd exploring in about 8” of snow. I ended up getting stuck on that road (slid into a ditch). I got taken back to Marienville by a snowmobiler and was pulled out by a tow truck the next day. Funny and memorable now. NOT funny and memorable then. 😂. New subsciber. Thank you.
Love that story, lol! Isn't it interesting how time changes our perspective. We had one of those experiences last year down in Kentucky. We were so stressed and upset at the time, but now looking back, it was a great adventure! Here is a link to that video if you haven't seen it yet: th-cam.com/video/Ma10dacTIKI/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching and subscribing! We loved the time we spent in Allegheny and definitely hope to get back that way in the future. That was our first time in Pennsylvania - so beautiful!

@@HEKNBAK Enjoy your forest trip. I'm looking forward to getting out later in January for some winter camping.
I like that "hormonal graffiti "
@@buschlattes7066 that's why they say art is in the eye of the beholder, right! When we called it hormonal graffiti, we were referring to things like "Becky's a bitch", "suck my dick", and spurting penises everywhere. Probably painted by teenagers and not really something we want to see - we'd rather just see the bus, but not everyone agrees. I'm sure the people painting it, love it!
Hellbent holler did a video the bus was turned on its side with a tree on it
@@buschlattes7066 we will check that out. Thanks for sharing that.
I explore lbl on most weekends. There are a lot of roads on google maps that are no longer there. For sure can’t trust it. It’s bit us in the butt a bunch.
Glad to know we aren't alone, lol! We do like to look at it to see what used to be there sometimes, but if you aren't also looking at something more accurate, it can lead you to quite a few dead ends.
Are you guys still using your Campinawe? Still favor it? I've been looking at them and they seem like the way to go for a light tear drop that's made to last.
@@quackaddict620 yes, we are still using it and still enjoy it! We are thinking when we retire in a couple years we will want something bigger, but for now it is great. The only downside for us is heat. When we bought it, there wasn't an option for heat, but that may have changed. We just got a diesel heater we are looking forward to trying out in January.
Looks amazing!

This video is awesome. Thank you for making such a thorough breakdown of everything, this proved to be a great resource when researching RTT’s.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
I never really tend to look on websites for campsites but i'll go on google maps and mark out places that might be suitable for camping. I really want to avoid people while i'm out there so I highly prefer to find my own site over going to a publicized one. Many of the publicized sites in manistee are trashed as well which is another reason i like to find my own and keep them to myself for the most part.
@@jamespostle6894 thanks for sharing your thoughts! We prefer to be away from people too and were really surprised by how crowded Manistee was that weekend. This was our first time in the area. We have such a hard time understanding why people trash campsites, but we know it happens.

Im so glad i have the gear i need because every thing from campers, tents to cookers and towels are so over priced now.
@@papatravels61 yes, us too! We've collected stuff over the years, so when we decide to buy something it's just to upgrade but isn't necessarily something we really need. We have things that work fine, so we can hold off if it's too pricey. We are willing to pay more though for something that is really high quality, well made, etc. Hope you are doing well! Looks like Kansas may be getting some weather next week.

My OnX Offroad Guide to knowing the number system.. The two noteworthy main roads of LBL are the Woodland Trace Scenic Byway FS 100 going 43 miles north to south, and the Canton Road / US-68 going 9.5 miles east to west (counting the bridges) through the center. If you are looking for nothing but an offroad outing, Turkey Bay OHV Area is your place, featuring hundreds of trails of natural rock, dirt, and mud over a 2,200-acre plot of land. On the main LBL Peninsula, a few decoding practices via the number system can be used to find directions or a trail of your desired level in the area. 100 and 200 number routes will be your easiest routes; these can be primaries or upper secondaries (most are paved or gravel, rarely natural). 100 roads are in the northern Kentucky section, and 200 roads are in the southern Tennessee section. 300 roads are generally natural terrain, and the rare 400 roads are more of the same natural terrain; unlike 100 and 200s, these are not state-specific. Another general rule of numbers within all routes of LBL is the lower the number the more north (like 112 in north Kentucky, 206 in north Tennessee, or 302 in north LBL), and the higher the number the further south (like 171 in south Kentucky, or 230 in south Tennessee, or 384 in south LBL). 400 roads are the exception, being randomly placed.
@@YourFriendStChris thanks for sharing that! We covered most of that in the video but didn't know that OnX had descriptions of whole areas like this. We use it for navigation but have never seen this. We got our info from the MVUM. We need to explore OnX features more! That's a great summary.
