Why you didn't take the gate off I have no idea, they are easy to take off & put back on. People like to take & polish the ends & remove burrs from the forked end & rightly so as they scratch the case & yer fingers.

I have original '73, '76, '86, '92, '94, and '95 rifles, all over a hundred years old, and I shoot then regularly; I also have these "raved about" Japanese repros........ But, when you already have the originals; it's perfectly fine to waste money on the garbage. Honestly, those garbage rifles never get taken outta the safe. LOL!!!!! I'll bet those pesky collectors are getting sick over that. Fug 'em...... LMFAO!!!!!

Anybody know any tricks/tips to getting the barrel off? Do they use locktite on it? Was gonna try using a heat gun on the receiver to break it loose.
