Average pool player (with an eclectic taste in music) just trying to get better.
Hopefully, I learn from mistakes. Maybe you you can learn something from me or I can gain a little knowledge from you.
Either way, let's have fun playing!

Trying out my newly discovered and very limited editing skills. I put together some of my favorite shots since I started posting videos here. Thank you for watching.
9 ball break and run + a new look!!

Gotta old new light to give a barroom look to my game room. Still a little work left to do though. Plus, I get a little atonement for the last two attempts.
8 ball break and (are you kidding me) run

2 videos in a row! Need to raise my awareness setting.
9 ball. Pay attention to the details

Don’t take simple shots for granted. This was a reminder to work on muscle memory drills. Pre shot routines, aim, stance, execution.
9 ball break and run. Maybe a little luck

Apologies for the poor quality audio. I forgot to do I mic check before I started recording. But I thought this little run deserved to be shared. Sometimes you gotta have a some luck to make it look good. If there was no commentary and I was playing with one of my friends, I would’ve 100% played this like “I meant to that”!
8 ball break and (scratch, then table) run.

This is an example of coming up with a pattern play in your head and improvising on the fly when an opportunity arises. For the most part I followed my pattern. I knew the 15 and 13 were going to be the last balls in the run, it was getting there that was the challenge.
9 ball almost break and run

Played a few good shots and few bad ones. Came close bot couldn’t overcome the bad position play
8 ball break and run… with commentary.

A little longer video than usual. Had to make some recovery shots due to poor execution, but got the job done. Hope you enjoy.

Trying something a little different. Giving my thought process out loud on what pattern I see and what I need to do to get cue ball position. Let me know if you see different options on different shots. Sometimes my brain over complicates shot selection. I try to use the KISS method. Something my dad told me years ago. Keep It Simple, Stupid. That method applies to more than just pool.
8 ball break and run that heaven allowed. (Apologies for the singing)

Power draw on the first shot after the break set up a pretty easy run out.
9 ball break and run with two banks

Had to bank twice because I missed my position twice!!! But made good recoveries. Thought about going for 7-9 combo, played the bank instead
8 ball break and run. 7 ball problems… again.

Nice!
Well done, glad I wasn't your opponent.
That was great, fair play pal!
Well played dude
Well done! Perfect 10!
You must definitelly open the 8-ball first. You can't run out the rack by luck every time ^_^
Super well played. That side pocket roller was perfect touch
Great job. Keep it up!
Thanks for taking time to watch.
That was impressive.
Nice break and run !
Nice shots
hi bro well done , What are the dimensions of the table?
Thanks. It’s just a 7’ valley bar box table
what's wrong with that? it's good you scratched. you learned something. if you just made the 8 you would have missed that golden opportunity to learn to be more careful on that shot. keep scratching.. the more you know how to scratch the more you know how to avoid it. i make it a point to try to scratch on the last shot of every practice game.
When I first started playing this real good player told me something about shooting the last ball that has always stuck with me.He said to always play position to a phantom ball when shooting the last ball instead of just shooting the ball into the hole. It stops you from scratching a great majority of the time.
I like that concept. Gonna have to try it out in game situations, thanks.
Hey I really enjoy your videos! I was wondering what pool cue you play with and what kind of tip you have on there? Thanks a lot!
@@Ksawerow1999 thanks for watching. I use a green Meucci hp 3 with a Kamui clear medium tip.
I think my favorite was either your excitement on some of the breaks or the way you lean to control the ball. Lol
Saw that scratch coming or a close call at least. Whenever I have something close I like to give some margin of safety with a little spin.
Ya got cocky lol
@@Bighitter03 you are 💯 % correct 😂
@georgejackson9366 happens to the best of us
I think on that four instead of draw you should have just slow rolled it
Dude....been there too many times to count. Now I try and remember to always put bottom English on the last ball no matter what...just because, and it has served me well.
What size table is that George and what room dimensions? I am looking to get a table and have somewhat limited space at 13.5 by 18. I can squeeze in a seven foot, but might be tight on some shots. Just wondering. Nice job though.
@@Alan_Edwards it’s a 7’ valley. The space you have will be enough for that. 13.5 may be a little tight for shots on the rail. You’ll just have to shorten your backstroke. Length wise you’ll be fine. Dimensions on my space is 16’2” by 13’3”.
@@georgejackson9366 Thanks man. What information I could find did not really help me much but now I know for sure I can make it work and I really do appreciate you taking the time brother. Enjoy your videos too. Just getting back into the game and not many places to play near where I live so figured I might as well get a table. I live alone and retired so why not. Anyway...thanks again !!
i doughted you at first you are pretty good
Well done! Thanks
im just learning pool and snooker, started a couple months ago, im good enough to know that was a hell of a break and run
speed control on every shot !
That's one hell of a break pad you have lol. Once your ready to get some newer balls I highly recommend the dynaspheres. Way cheaper than the Aramiths and they are better tolerances, stay cleaner etc. Nice set up!
@@nyquil07na38 yeah. I have a long downward follow through and want to protect my cloth as much as possible. I have been working on coming up with the stroke to prevent pitting lone skid marks on the table. Until then… the long break cloth stays. lol
Good shot on the one ball my thinking was to draw it back to the side pocket where you were shooting from and shoot the two ball.
Should of stunned it with low and widened the angle to miss scratching in the side
Great run.
Nice game.
Dang!
Where you from brother? Great pattern, sorry for the scratch.
Thank you. I'm in Louisiana.
That’s why any risk like that where you might go in off you play with top left instead of plain ball
A little low right is better as there is natural throw.
Its happened to us all bro!!
Reference points are your friend.
Amazing 👏 😊
Try this. Find where the point where the metal and the rail meet in the corner. Make a line to the second ball. Put the cueball on the headstring on the outside edge of that line. This allows you to have a very level cue by bridging through the corner pocket. Just above center with a medium speed. It looks like the classic 8 ball break but the slight top makes the wing ball go right in like a shot.
This break is effective enough that I have taught literally 100s of players over the past decade or so.
That head ball pop break that he used is a very effective break for 8 and 10 ball. There is a reason that nearly all of the top pro players break this way. He was a little off on the hit but he still pocketed a ball and the expected ball (2nd row 2 ball) still very nearly went. The spread was decent as well.
@procrastinator6902 i never doubted any other breaks effectiveness. Only suggesting to give it a try. If you don't want to, that's OK.
@@thesafezone3833 Likewise, I wasn't trying to imply the one you suggested wouldn't work either. Just thought it was worth mentioning that if you get this particular one down that it's probably worthwhile to stick with since it seems to be what is favored by the top players in the game
Great shooting and problem solving. That was an enjoyable break from my day. Now I wanna go shoot pool! Subbed
Actually waiting to pocket the 2ball in the side and run into the 8ball last was not wise. He should have done that earlier in the rack. He got lucky ending up with a shot on the 8ball. It was a very good run but the decision on that last ball was not good.
Both on the 8 ball and on the 5 (position for the 6) a little English would've been your friend. On the 5 you hit straight draw and got good shape, but the cue ball was running through the landing zone; you had to judge the speed just right to avoid getting out of line. If you'd used bottom right, the cue ball would have come off the rail at a shallower angle and the landing zone to stay in line would be much larger. On the 8 sadly I saw it coming, been there too many times! Pretty much anything OTHER than center ball or center high will avoid scratching here haha. I like using just enough right spin to throw the 8 into the pocket a little, which lets you aim for a slightly fuller hit and get out of line for the side pocket scratch. Great run, unlucky ending! (Edit: my dyslexic ass said left when I meant right)
Yep! I set up that 8 ball shot about 20 times after recording! Settled on just a little right to send it below the pocket. Definitely in the memory bank for next time.
My eyes lit up in the first moments of the video because that's the exact break I settled on when I played league years ago! Messed around in practice one evening looking for a sweet spot and found that cue ball near headstring, halfway between the first two diamonds gave me great action.
Yeah the pop is a very effective break to use. It is quite difficult to master tho, it honestly took me months to get the mechanics down and develop the technique. But with the good spread, reliable ball pocketing, and center table cue ball position it provides, I believe the time was well spent. My break and runs increased significantly after I was able to hit that break consistently.
In time make you’re pockets smaller those look big😅
its lou from @onlyframes
That was some fantastic skill good sir, I applaud your cunning cue-work with great envy
Theme the breaks buddy.
You had some nice shots during this run. 😀👍
Gee, I wish I can pretend they go in when I play league. However, you were honest enough to show the miss, so there is that.
Thank you! I am by no means perfect, and just want to show a "real world" setting for average players.
Good pool sir👍
I like your video.
9 ball is the best game imo. Im a creator too. Where r u from?
Just getting started here. Having a little fun. I’m in Louisiana
Nice shooting overall. The shape to the 2 ball was a beauty. I have that same cue 😍👍.
