Angelus Oaks Dual Sport Easy Mellow Fire Road Bike Ride
I rode that trail today. I kept going past the rock dam there’s a washout that is not passable without some shovel work. I tried to skirt on the side but had to bail out down the slope when my rear wheel fell in. Luckily it was easy to ride out and connected right back to the power line road below. Reminds of going past Joe Elliott. That road gets treacherous
It was easier a few weeks back, but my riding buddy (same guy that went over the edge) got stopped 1/2way up and tore it up. I still have no problem with it.
He should have wrote a song on the way down! Like Arlo Guthrie
Arlo Guthrie, the motorcycle song, the significance of the pickle
Nice video man, I ride with gas bikes and I'm on a surron, it's always fun
Glad no one was hurt. Racer Dick Mann said in his book that he once rode his BSA off a cliff. Came back with tools, took the bike apart and carried it out in pieces. I once had to continue downhill to another road after going off the edge of a logging road. I was lucky I could because I was alone.
Glad he wasn't hurt
Lucky Mando didn't get hurt. When Norman said " You're gotta do it like that, you gotta keep your momentum ", my first thought was "I don't think he can hear yoooooou" 🙃
We all have helmet radios for talking to each other. Up to 1/4 mile away
Partly my fault for not having him walk that blind turn before riding it. We all learned from this.
@wheeleking9049 Oh, that is so cool you have communication through your helmets! I'm glad everyone was safe 🫶
How do I join the squad
Where do you live & you On FB?
I was off to the side when you guys passed….was thinking to myself that I’ve never seen so many rear view mirrors in my life out there😂.
You should show him the pictures of my broken frame. And tell him to not put that much stuff on the back of the klx.
The KLX300, guy, mostly rides adventure bikes. I think that's why he like bags/boxes on his bikes
Looks like a very nice ride.
I've biked that trail before. It was in much better shape at the time though, no overgrowth like that and no collapsed rock. Probably about 2 yrs ago possibly. We descended along the pipline that leads down not far from the gun range, had to hike the bikes down that because it's not rideable.
I've gotta go riding with you guys! Non stop fun.
We like to ride during the week. Mostly Wens/Fridays. Yr welcome to join in. facebook.com/groups/862024052466750
Perfect for fat tire ebike
Looks like a fun and enjoyable trip. If you teach your kids to get off their butts and stand on the pegs, they will enjoy it even more! It is easier to absorb the bumps and balance the bike with your weight on the pegs, that's what they are for. Also using lower gear for hill climb is preferable. You might run it close to redline at the foot but you will have better torque multiplication once you get higher and slow down, allowing you to climb higher and hopefully reaching the peak. Keep at it, learn new skills, don't be afraid to drop the bike and enjoy it while you're doing it. It only gets better.
Baldy Mesa is a great place to ride! If I may suggest, you guys need to hit those hills way faster than you are and maybe a gear lower. You need more rpm's. The widow maker, I hit it in 3rd gear pinned on a 2020 WR450. Momentum is your friend out there. Have fun!!
My 650r & my 450x with a worn tires makes it easy in 3rd. It's been around 10yrs since I climb it last with my other DRZ400, so I'm sure It's do able. I'll try it again, maybe next week, with a new tire. I started the climb in 3rd but with a stock DRZ, wants to go lower quick.
480x big bore 4 gear wide open lol
You boys are animals !!! Be careful out there........
Good for you guys, looks like a blast!!!
nice ... i love drz's
No comments? I got u bro
Whew. High up! beautiful place
Loved those DRZs-rugged landscape, great work
Just curious, what kind of bikes were you guys riding, one looked like a drz400s. Nice ride!
2-drz 400s
Looks fun! Finally the fire is gone m, I guess. Where do you guys begin with?
lytle creek
😮😮😮😊😊😊
Looks fun but wheres the single track?
You're right, no single track shown. Thanks, I changed the title.
Looks great out there! Nice ride.
That guy on the black drz recording is a good rider!
Was this a particular named trail or set of trails I can look up on OnX/AllTrails or a custom route?
I dont know. I just follow riders.
looks like a fun ride
Great area.... Always up there on singletrack.
Good times
Nice riding. I used to ride out there about 10 years ago. Me and two of my buddies. We were 22 years old doing this on our own. Loved it.
Really embarrassing…. To be standing there for 10 seconds, then tipping over. Thanks guys for all the help!
Thanks for posting…. Covid had me beat. Tested positive the next day!
@3:50, what happened to downhill traffic yielding to uphill traffic?
That’s good footage.. looks like a hard trail in some spots .
Great music! 😂❤
I want to ride this with you guys!!! This is literally the only stuff I ride!
what bike you ride
Awesome trail! Can you tell about how to find it?
I don't remember. I followed a friend one time.. Are you close to Canyon Lake?
@@wheeleking9049 hey, yah I live in Murrieta. I usually ride Hogbacks or Sylvan Meadows. That trail you rode there looks like it suits me.
@@noelbrown6771 I'll try and get more info for you.
@@wheeleking9049 o wow thanks, actually I went looking for it yesterday lol. I think I was close but not sure. I drove to Canyon Hills Community Park. Took my dog ( no bike) I found a trail on, I believe the West side of the park along a creek. Is that it?
@@noelbrown6771 I tried to find out some info. No Luck. I think your right on the west side. Look at the beginning of this video. It should show where I parked next to the street. The group I went with is- Mountain Bike buddies on FB.
Are you on Instagram at all?
theking1g, but I'm never on there, but I do use Facebook a lot.
Oh ok, where can I find u on Facebook then? What's ur handle?
What trail is this? Where is it in relation to Flowline?
I'm not sure where. I was following my buddy. You can see the 15 fwy in the background .
I love this I've been all over lytle Creek all of the fire roads but never had the balls to ride on the side of a mountain up there. You guys are definitely hardcore.
I just tried to drive there and Gilman Springs Rd. today and you can't get into it unfortunately because of the Jackrabbit Fire that consumed 7,600 acres so far. All the trails there and wildlife have burnt up... Very sad indeed. You can look up the Jackrabbit fire here: www.fire.ca.gov/ and it's south of Beaumont... That was one of the 2 places I like to go trail riding with my KTM 350 Exec.. Congrads on the Yamaha 700!!! What a beast.. Got to keep that one from bucking you off.. hahaha Have a blast!!! Any other trails you enjoy riding?
Damn.. That first part with the cliffs on both sides reminds me of Mt. Baldy's Devil's Backbone.. I went across that 2 times and people were coming the other way as I crossed it... scary as hell!!! I wonder if your camera makes it look more scary than it really is? you got some pretty big kahonees to ride across it. Do you have any maps where you were riding since you posted it? I just bought a new KTM 350 EXEC and would love to ride out there.. Maybe you have another favorite spot as well? Just trying to find new places to ride... Much appreciated on the video!
Hi toppernimble2710 i just got a yamaha tenere 700 i went thru jackrabbit trail 2 weeks ago i was planning to go explore this areas but i heard you can get a ticket since it supposed to be a wildlife preserve or something like that
Great video!
Ive spent a bit of time around on MTB but these trails are new to me. Id be interested in getting the tracks if you are so inclined to share them
I don't have any Tracks. My friend just looked on Google Earth and found this trail next to hwy 30. We were just trying to find easy trails for riding 2up. Would be a good mt bike trail. But long climbs, LOL. We did see Hikers parking where we started.
Good times
Looks like a fun trail . My type of ride
Nice, dad!
