Heureusement que c'est remasterisé car sur le concert le son était vraiment dégueulasse. La vidéo ne reflète absolument pas la réalité ni la qualité du réel de ce show. Un son tellement poussé à fond que les enceintes saturées et les gens quittaient le concert. Étrange puisque les show qui précédaient avec un son propre, équilibré et supportable. Au final j'étais venu pour Jarre et j'ai largement plus apprécié Phoenix. Dommage.

moi ,j'ai vraiment tout raté ,j'étais sur place au concert, mais j'ai pas pu voir le concert parce que j'avais réservé sur les places assises et quand j'ai voulu sortir pour récupérer des vétements chauds a ma voiture ,car a 22h30 il faisait froid vraiment ,on m'a dit que sortir pour aller chercher mes vétements c'était pas possible ,je trouve ça inadmissible ,ne pouvant plus tenir ,j'ai du sortir quand meme et du coup j'ai raté le concert

Przez kolejne 20 lat od koncertu, agent Bolek, czyli wałęsa, popiera partię, która niszczy Polskę z dnia na dzień i oddaje ją w ręce niemiec. Jak się okazało nie był bohaterem. Był pionkiem w rękach resortu. Gdyby pan Jarre wiedział prawdziwą historię tego agenta, która po latach powoli wychodziła na światło dzienne, napewno nie zaprosiłby go na koncert. To nie jest człowiek godny żadnych tytułów i honorów. Dziękujemy panie Jarre za koncert i wizytę w Polsce.

I have been JMJ fan since 1987, but it was not until 1990/91 I bought my first JMJ album on cassette tape which was Waiting For Cousteau and after that and years later I began buying his cd albums and concerts he have had on VHS tapes ☺ My first JMJ concert I bought on VHS tape in 1991/92 which became my favourite is Paris La Defense ❤ But when my VCR broke/began malfucioning in 1997-1999 I got help from my friend converted my VHS tape from that concert to DVD disc and he also printed some pics and cover from the concert and put that paper inside the DVD cover as well ☺

Another JMJ album where are appearing some D-50 sounds. Roland PN-D50-04 81 "Marshy Zone" patch has been used in "Calypso Part 2" (Track 2) as the introduction special oceanic FX. It is then enhanced (0'07'') with the Metra Sound "Standards" (H. Maass) 75 "Rubicon" patch

J'y étais ! énorme souvenir ! j'ai vraiment beaucoup d'émotion en regardant cette vidéo, c'était noir de monde, je n'avais jamais vu autant de gens de ma vie, plus d'1 million sur les quais de Saône et autre. Moi j'étais sur les pentes de la Croix Rousse coté Saône, je n'avais pas pu avancer plus à pied.

This was my introduction to his music - Been a fan ever since.... Listened to the show on scratchy Radio One FM - Was pretty amazed once I got the VHS copy which I promptly wore out by playing it too much! I remember being amazed by the fireworks in this show too once I saw the video!

For me the coolest thing is that he has been really inspired by Astral Projection these past few years. I was brought up on Jean michel jarre but in the laters years I was very much inspired by Astral Projection ;)

I heard Oxygene as a young boy back in the 1970s and it immediately captivated me, JJM has been the soundtrack to my life ever since. I cannot count how many times I've listened to his albums and still listen to them today. Thank you so much for your musical gift to the world.

The concert took place during the 49th International Festival of Carthage. Nearly 30,000 people were able to take their place for a night of music and lights. Fireworks were banned, due to the historical monument aspect of the site. Many concerts were cancelled during this event, due to a political situation that had become very tense after the death of an opposition MP. Jean Michel Jarre reduced his fee to a minimum to take into account the difficulties of the country. Two days before the concert, he visited an NGO in Gammarth called SOS Children's Villages, which tries to get young people out of dramatic family situations. During the press conference that preceded it, Jean Michel confided to journalists that he had been moved in his early youth at the cabaret "Le Chat qui pêche" by John Coltrane performing "A night in Tunisia". The installation of all the stage equipment took three days. Rehearsals took place until two in the morning. Behind the stage, a smaller screen than the one used on the 2011 tour was installed to accommodate the reduced dimensions of the stage backdrop. New video effects were used on some songs, and the trees were also illuminated. The show took place under the gaze of Tunisian Minister of Culture Mehdi Mabrouk and other officials, who used the concert in front of television cameras as a pretext to promote tourism in the country. At the end of the show, Jarre received an award that was in keeping with this cause. As he has been accustomed to doing for the past 3 years, Jarre made his entrance by crossing the audience, and in this case, this crowd bath was done with security men who were particularly tense. As soon as he arrived on the stage covered with oriental carpets, Jean Michel referred to the political situation in the country, evoking the pleasure he had with his team to be there "here and now", in "the oldest democracy in history". Later, he paid a warm tribute to the "Tunisian woman" and dedicated the penultimate piece to Carthage, the city of Hannibal where he dreamed of playing as a kid. This is how the audience lit up the Roman theater with thousands of cell phones during Calypso 3. For the last song of the concert, Jean Michel wore a large Tunisian flag around his neck, which had a very positive effect on the audience, who had been absolutely wild since the first encore. On the tracklist side, the quiet pieces like Chants magnétiques 1, Oxygène 1, 5 and Variation III were put aside in favor of a program with increasingly lively beats. The Theremin was used as an introduction to Equinoxe 4. All Tunisian television stations broadcast excerpts from the concert (filmed by 4 cameras), awaiting a broadcast later in the year.
