Definitely. I actually have another model 49 but it's not as original as this. It has a torque major as well. I also have a rover challenger that's in very original condition with a torque major that I'm about to start working on. Will upload a video when I'm done.

@@pagano126 yeah mate I bought a new spark plug for it this morning from repco and bought a cheap car sponge to cut a filter out of because I pulled it apart and the filter was like sand I asked my father he said it has not been started for 10 year so hopefully new spark plug drained fuel tank new fuel give it a few pulls see if she might come alive and Il make a video

A lot ended up being smokey, usually valve stem seal failure is the most common cause. Mine had a top end overhaul at some stage. It ran well and not smokey at all.

Thanks for your interest in it. It definitely was a lovely car to own. I sold It not long after the video was made around 2020. A couple from regional Victoria brought it that had wanted one when they were new. My goal is to find a bg astina! The previous model with pop up headlights. I'd like one in turquoise and preferably an sp model. They exist but not easy to find.

Me too, I just replaced it with a period correct momo wheel

My mechanic at the time replaced it during the roadworthy inspection. The original muffler was worn out. I think he used someone on the Mornington peninsula.

They're well loved those suzuki two-stroke engines. I'm holding out for a Briggs's and stratton two-stroke powered masport that my dad has had from new but hardly used.

@pagano126 they are nice low to mid duly engine, but they can't take the abuse as the victa 160 cc full crank can

Definitely we made some amazing machinery here. Although this machine was tired and a bit smokey, it still functioned well. I sold it to a friend who wanted it more than me. You can't have them all I guess!

Wouldn't be too many italian car's powered by an English engine.

@raypurchase801 Most definitely. It is running an 1100cc austin healey sprite engine. It has an early model Holden radiator mounted up front. It is one of the earliest sports sedan's to have raced in New South Wales

My neighbour had one when I was growing up. I always remember the noise and the sparks when the blades would sometimes touch concrete. We had a 70 series Victa and after that, masport with a two-stroke briggs and stratton. I'm in the process of buying a battery powered mower for my parents as they are now in their 80s and struggling to start and push the masport.

@@pagano126 ... My mower isn't Chinese and it has a Deadman switch... You definitely don't wanna run a lawnmower without one.

@Adammrtl27 it's not something I would add to something of this vintage. I don't mow the lawn with it and I'm more than aware of the potential danger when running the engine

It has a nice warm corner in my shed and always will

Definitely unique, it is heavily muffled compared to other two-stroke mowers I have in my collection.

@@pagano126 sounds awesome and yep Summer is the best time of year for paint jobs too from what i heard last etc.

The car had just under 290,000 kilometres when I sold it back to it's original owner. She had owned it since it was five years old. I purchased it from her and cleaned it up and returned it to roadworthy condition. It has never been crashed or had any paint repairs. One very original car and a pleasure to drive.

It took me ages to find one. The reason I went looking was for nostalgia. My first car was identical except for the year of manufacture. One plus for having a reverse opening bonnet is that it won't suddenly fling open if the catch fails.

@@pagano126 Yes I guess that is one benefit!

@Aus80sRockRadio I'm thinking the most important reason is accessibility when working in the engine bay. You don't have a bonnet looming over your head.

@@jimcole2648 completely flat water is no good either. There needs to be some roughness to the surface for the boat to get on a plane.

They make a bit of a mess. They throw grass everywhere. I mainly just start it up every now and then since I finished preserving it. There are plenty of videos of people mowing with them .
