I have no issues with this size. In fact 2 tyres I am using are CEAT

I used 225/50 for 50k km and didn’t gave any issues. However 215/55 provides even more sidewall.

For 8 months I have been using 205x55xR17 MRF wondered... So far it has driven 12000km very good handling except road noise

Both are above 3% but these are the only options available to solve issues with 205/50/R17 . Another option is 205/55/R17 that is also above 3%. Handling is more or less same quite close to stock size. Increasing profile will surely have some impact but not much. Steering will also feel little heavier but not much and is liveable. I personally was fed up with 205/50 issues so took the call to upsize

In city with AC I get 12-13 Kmpl. Mine is 1.0 EcoBoost 2018

@@myecoboost i only get around 10. :( and i am facing one issue, on uphills like flyovers i am facing lag and performance issue when ac is on. ford says everything is alright :( but any recommendations from your end?

@SheikhAtifiOS as this is turbo engine you need to stay in turbo zone that is above 1500 rpm so when on incline rev upto 2000 rpm before upshift. Also I use Indian oil XP 95 petrol it provides more power compared to normal petrol. EcoBoost engines are designed for 95 octane fuel at least the newer one after 2017 not sure about the old EcoBoost engine that was launched around 2014

It might not be enough. As you can see in comments some used it and still got sidewall damage on bad roads. 215/55 have no such issues

Yokohama bluearth series is good. Grip will improve as the tyre will be wider. Many people I know are using this profile

Go for either option 2 or 3. With 225/50 mileage and performance will reduce but handling and ride quality will improve a lot

@@myecoboost why not 215/50 r17 ? Option 2 and 3 have same 3.15% deviation while going with option 1 has 1.56% deviation. Side wall also increased in option 1....

@cartech3421 Sidewall in 1. 107.5 mm in 2. 112.75 mm and in 3. 112.5 mm . Sidewall in option 1 is not sufficient enough and you still main face same issues. Some used this and still faced tyre issues

@@myecoboost thank you so much ! I want to know some more details - Are you facing some stability issue after upgrading to 225/50 r17 ? Coz it will increase the ground clearance by 10 mm ? Will it not affect the stability ? Will it reduce the engine life ? Coz they are heavy tyres

@cartech3421 I didn’t face any issue so far have been using them for last 46,000 km. Will soon be changing them most likely to 215/55

Yokohama BlueEarth series is very good. It’s super silent

I think continue with 215/55 for now as ride quality and handling would have improved a lot now and next time you can try 205/55 .

I am using 225/50 for past 3 years without any problems. This time I will go for 215/55 as all have provided good feedback for this profile and also I am ok with small reduction in mileage as ride quality improves and peace of mind on potholes is priceless

I would suggest Yokohama BluEarth 215/60/R16. Difference in circumference will be 1.84%. You fell improvement in driving dynamics.

How much did it cost you per tyre? Planning to change to this one.

Yes mileage drop of around 2. Odometer will be out of sync by around 3%

@@myecoboost you can recelibrate it with obd 2 in fass with the new tyre .it will give you the accuracy in odometer.

Yes it was 225/50 profile. You can do minor off-roading but still need to be very careful to avoid damage to tyre and alloys. This profile provide bare minimum improvement in side profile. Ideally for off roading you need high profile tyres. And also with lack of 4x4 only basic obstacles can be tackled with momentum.

215/55 is not good..... deviation will be of 4.86%....not recommended

Yes deviation is on higher side but many people are using this profile as it improves ride and handling a lot

Yes, I think it will fit without touching. Size will be same as 215/55/R17 which many are using. But a costly option as alloys needs to be changed

Yes, the stock alloy have support up to 225 profile. Using them for last 30,000 km

@@myecoboost Nice, my dad's got a 2017 Ford Ecosport platinum edition, It was a limited edition which was on sale for only 1 year before the 2018 updated ecosport came and it came with 205/50 R17 Diamond cut Alloy Wheels and he will be getting a new car for himself and will give me his car (am 19 btw 😅) and was thinking for upsizing the Tyres which would look good but also be Functional and I think i will go with your config of tyres.

@@shivammajhi7979 one of my friend is having same 2017 platinum variant. He is using 215/55 from some time now without any problem. You can consider that also. I myself will give 215/55 a try when the current set wears out.

It will be too big and might touch when the car is loaded. I would not recommend this. You may go for 215/55/R17 instead. Many people are using this size with no issues

I have done around 28,000km with this and it will be good for another 12,000 at least. Didn't check inner side. Mine have TPMS so if anything would have gone wrong would have known

You can go with either both are good have there own pro and cons
