Old Matt Racing

Channel of my races, both on the running track and mainly on zwift. As a 50+ athlete this presents a challenge when racing the young guns but hopefully I hold my own to a certain extent. My background is from track running - I previously represented Great Britain on the track over 1500m, running 3:39 for 1500, and 3:58 for the mile. Most recently I was ranked 8th in the World as an M55 athlete over 1500m (2024)

More zwift racing from old man Matt - race 4 of week 9 of Herd Winter Racing league. Can i finish higher than 19 my position from yesterday's race?? Need the points! Lots of attack so very hard racing....even a flat course can be very spicy!!

So after my accidental road bike ride in race 1 I managed to get my s t together and pick the gravel bike for this one! Field wasn't as competitive but it felt much easier on the first climb and managed to dig in on 2nd climb for a good finish....enjoy :-)

Very decent zwift race! Herd Winter Racing W7 R5 - Libby Hill after party 1/12/24

Week 7 of the Herd Racing League on zwift brings us the Libby Hill after party route. 5 small bumps then a mad finish up the Libby Hill climb as featured in the UCI world champs. Was a decent race for me - my 2nd of the day but my legs felt ok....a few attacks but they all came back without me having to chase much. Final hill was an all out effort and managed 5th overall

Super hard zwift racing over the new Yorkshire Double Loop course....this course ir relentless. No respites, the downhills too short to recover from the climbs and the climbs super punchy! Add some strong riders pushing really hard up the climbs and I was just hanging on! Good finish though! Watch for a decent last minute!

Excellent Zwift Ladder race....ladder races are FAL scratch races with 10 for win, then 9,8,7 etc. This race went all the way to the end - very exciting and amazing ride by Kev Fowler
