To answer the questions at the end. Yes, I knew all about the evolution of money. You see the most important aspect of a currency is stability. Knowing the value from day-to-day will be STABLE. This is why the dollar dominates, in addition to being backed by the largest economy in the world. When you look at BTC, it's quite volatile and backed by nothing. Additionally, the processing capabilities of bitcoin are 0.1% of Mastercard. Doesn't sound very viable as a currency replacement. If you want to hedge against inflation, you can buy precious metals (gold), which actually have an industrial use. Or you can buy land or property, which are also hedges against inflation. Both have physical purposes, which they are "backed by". And never once did I "ask for permission" to spend dollars. All of the problems you explained being solved, aren't even problems. So my question back to you, do you find it at all ironic when people quote BTC's value that they do it in dollars?! Why do you think that is?
Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I also dont disagree about the various assets you described and I myself like physically backed assets like Land. Bitcoin is often called a store of value as you are correct it is too slow on a worldwide scale to be used as every day money. But that is why cryptocurrencies like Cardano have come into existence. They are much faster than mastercard and the fees for users are noticeably lower. To answer your question you can buy Bitcoin in almost any Fiat currency not just USD. People in the USA use USD and trading sites like Coinbase want americans to buy on their exchange hence the use of USD to buy BTC. Coionbase wants to make money, which is why they use USD.
what distinguish bitcoin, Ethereum, ripple, solona or any other coin? It seems like there may be only 21mm bitcoin but there are UNLIMITED other coins that do similar things.
So why don’t the people who own the bitcoin just give each bitcoin a value of a billion dollars? Wow, look ma, iam a billionaire now hahaha You forgot to add that this is one of the world’s greatest Ponzi schemes to date.
Thanks for the comment. I could make the same argument that anyone can say something they own is worth infinite money and to me, it may be worth that. But to the rest of the world that item that to you is worth a billion is actually worth $1 today everyone else. Its also hard to make a Ponzi scheme argument as there isnt anyone in the background making money from the Bitcoin transactions.
So what backs bitcoin and gives it any value differing itself from fiat currency?
Scarcity, the price of electricity, and the decentralized (no government control) security of its massive (largest on earth by far) network, back Bitcoin.
@ all a government would have to do is block the cellphone communication towers and then it would deem bitcoin useless, couldn’t even trade it.
Bitcoin is backed by nothing but the people that buy it. Thats why it has power, the people that hold it give it power but not a government.

hey brother how are you can you read me?
Im here, how can I help you?
I decided to watch this despite not being anywhere near the dental field, but I am so glad I did. You deserve more views! I really resonate with the last point about opioids. When I got my wisdom teeth removed (it was still inside the gum), I just had local anesthetics. And it went completely fine! I did not feel a thing. I'm so shocked hearing about my friends who received IV sedation, inhaled gas, or opioid pills for their wisdom teeth removal.
I appreciate your comment. Opioids are just not always needed. I am thankful you shared your experience, we need more people backing up the positive experience without all the "other" medications.
Thanks! Can you post a video on breaking the ice and getting to know patients who are already patients of the office but you haven't met before? Really struggling with this
I think that is a terrific subject topic and something many docs struggle with. I would love to address that! My video production takes about a month from recording to posting, so be on the lookout in June!
I appreciate that you’re trying to give advice. So I’ll try to be gentle. This video should only be viewed as useful from an emotional level, and not a financial one. Simplicity can indeed be nice, but like convenience at your local 7-11…you’re paying for it. Historically, although it’s more difficult to purchase during higher interest rates…it is much better financially. House prices lower to compensate for interest rate increases. Then, when rates drop, you refinance. Your rent wouldn’t drop during that period, but your mortgage payment will. On the other hand if you wait for the rates to drop and buy, you’ll find home prices increase as the rates drop. I could go on and refute more of this video, but let that one point stand as an example that you don’t know this subject matter as well as you think. Real estate is a huge wealth builder for most people, and yes it carries risk. But the longer you rent, the less time you spend learning how to build wealth this way. Instead, you’re building wealth for your landlord. Which is why he doesn’t mind replacing your water heater. I hope you find this feedback useful.
I appreciate the thoughtful reply and for watching the video. While you make good points about interest rates and home prices there is no guarantee what you describe happens. Moreover, my posts are always directed at dentists that recently graduated from dental school and who carry $300,000+ student loan debt while having no money for down payments. They certainly dont have money to take on the entire mortgage at these high rates and my argument is their money is much better spent over the first year or two of their careers stacking money and not adding more debt. Long term, buying real estate is a great wealth builder, maybe even the best wealth builder but the timing needs to be right. The time for dentists to buy a home isnt the first year following dental school however, which is the premise of the video.
I appreciate your response and understand your premise, and you’re right the timing is most likely bad to purchase a home in the first year after graduation. However what I explained about interest rates isn’t a theory; it’s how it actually works. Rates go up, prices come down and vice versa. There are other factors that affect pricing but cost of capital is a constantly outsized one. As far as timing goes I’ll say/quote this. The best time to buy property was 20 years ago. The next best time is now.
good info
Glad it was helpful!
People struggling to pay mortgages are people who allow corporations to think for them.
Please elaborate.
