Altima Stuck in Park FREE FIX
มุมมอง 366K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This Altima is a 2012 SL and the fix is very simple only requiring 3 basic tools a Phillips screw driver a flat head and a 10mm socket with an extension and ratchet. With a little work you can fix your car in under 20 mins for free ! I've fixed over 20 altima's with this method

Reparado una manguera de aire condicionado. Aquí se esta soldando la punta nueva para poder ponerle una manguera nueva. Esta soldadura es AL 802 es lo que decía el paquete por fuera.
Loved it, thanks!!
That's make it so easy man 👏🏻 u such a great guy
Right on bro!!!😎 thank you. Here in Vegas they wanted to charge me more than $600 and that was a few years ago. I’ve been unlocking it through that little hole for years. I’m taking her apart on my next day off based on this video thank you
does the car need to be on?
@@bigfello1123 no but I needed to run the AC to keep cool
I can’t thank you enough. I really can’t. God bless.
@@thomasskandalis8002 your Welcome
Hell yes it was just as you said and didn’t take that long to fix specially for free thanks for the video 👍
This video is awesome, but sadly my car still won't work when I connected the plug just like your video. What should be the next step?
@@larryvergara6228 if you have it apart still. try holding the brake and pushing the switch with your finger. Maybe you didn't bend the tab enough 🤷🏻♂️
Not only did this help me fix the shifter problem (although I just used a dremel tool to cut the white arm off instead), i did a complete carpet replacement so this helped me remove all the center console components. Thank you!!
@@mrr5835 the little white arm is a safety feature I hope you don't have any kids
@@cubanpapimiami true! And no they are out of the house. My only thought was u still have to push the button in on the shift knob to shift? I appreciate the thought! 👍
Me pregunto porque siempre que soldan aluminio lo hacen hacia abajo no pueden subir un video soldando hacia arriba?
I can’t disconnect my shifter completely off. I’m almost there but can’t pop it off like yours.y Altima is a little different
Thank you very much for this 🤙🏽
Very good guide, can't thank you enough. We had a client in for some aftermarket audio equipment and she experienced this exact issue. We are thrilled to have found a solution, thank you so much
Another $700 saved!!! Thanks so much!!
This switch was not the issue for my friend's 13 2.5 S but your video was still super valuable to show how to get into the console. I did not remove the entire console though - just the plastic strip on the right of the radio, then the vertical trim below radio, and the cup holder part. Once that was off, I had no trouble getting to the shifter itself, including removing it from inside the console. However, since this switch wasn't the issue here, I just popped off the little arm that the solenoid was moving as well as the piston and spring from the solenoid. Now you can shift out of park without pressing the brake. No it's not a perfect solution, but way better than futzing with the shift lock release every single time it gets driven. Besides, if someone gets into your car to steal it, c that release is pretty common knowledge on almost every make and model, so this isn't really disabling any sort of anti theft thing. And the habit of pressing the brake to shift out of park is already so ingrained in everyone by now, I don't think it'll really be an issue. The owner of this car doesn't have small kids so no danger there either. Long story short, THANK YOU for this video!
Man you are a lifesaver
Gotta buy this man a beer
@@ryanl3812 my cashapp is $yenestelles ☺️
Done. Get a cold one on me
I see that you hired spiderman to film 🤷🏽
Nice. Im about to do this fix this weekend as i am having this issue. $200 just to diagnose. Nah im good ill use that for food or gas. Ill let you know how it goes
Wasn’t able to fix the issue due to the solenoid itself being the issue (have to order entire shifter assembly as “solenoid not serviceable independent of shifter,”) but still a great tutorial for taking everything apart 👍
Thank you so much I knew something was wrong either way the shifter on my moms 2017 altima when she told me she couldn't get it out of park but thankfully i found your video before taking it to any autoshop. I really appreciate you and people like you that solve the problem and share it with us all.
hey were you able to fix it with this video ?
remove the shift lock release cover, push down with a toothpick, hot glue in that position and wait 40 seconds, pull/break the toothpick out, your golden forever. fold the cover back down.
You are a godsend. Thank you my man
Saved me! Thanks!!
U r great man! That was completely correct!!
what a lot of fucking around take the car back and ask for your money back useless you should not have to go thru all this shit when you buy a car ffs.
I was having same problem on a 2007 Nissan Sentra S. We took whole gear assembly out and put a different one on. It doesn't get stuck in park anymore but gets stuck on drive or neutral. We're thinking it was the gear shifter handle is the problem or solution. I'm ordering a universal shifter cause the one for Nissan are too expensive. Thanks for the video.
You helped a lot of people including me ❤
That worked for my 2015 T32 X-Trail. Thanks for posting this video.
not that ez )
Thank you for posting this!! Exactly the same problem I had. Your video was so helpful !!!
Thank you so much for making this. I followed step by step and got it fixed. A few months later the metal switch got tired again so i ordered a replacement switch. I recommend anyone that watches this to just get a new switch so you dont have to rip it out twice.
Thanks my boy I already lost off money just watching your video 🙋🏽♂️🙏🏼
That was my exact issue. Thanks for your video.
This just saved us stuck in Nashville thank you !
great video, thanks! One note - Amazon has a pack of two drop-in replacement switch assemblies for less than $30.
I hope I never have that trouble! Kind of complicated.
completely stuck at 4:24, how do i disconnect??
Thanks again to Yen for posting this. I still don't know how you "manhandled" that center section with the cup holders out. There's no way I could budge it without using something to pry it out. I was really worried I'd break it.
Your welcome glad I could help 😎
Muchas gracias Soy técnico en la Nissan y por primera vez hice este trabajo y salió bien gracias a usted 🙏
Bendiciones ! espero ver tu primer vídeo pronto ya estoy subscrito
Even if I push mine in it won't come out of park when I let go it works
THANK YOU
YOUR WELCOME
That's how you do it! Best walkthrough on YT!
Thank you 🙏🏽
Unfortunately this didn't fix mine. Maybe the solenoid is bad. Either way, I zip tied the loop part of the manual shift lock disengage to the black plastic shift assembly housing so it's permanently disengaged. I know this creates a minor safety concern, but fuck Nissan.
Thanks dude that fixed it and saved me money
What’s the name of the part?
All u had to do was put the screw driver in. All that other shit was extra, could be wrong tho
There are many people in this world that think just like you don't feel bad about it
My worked for 4 months and then started having the same problem againb
Thanks; we just did this tonight. Great video.
The best 10 minute video ever. Just saved me money. I am a female and i did it all by myself by watching this video.
Im so happy it helped you! many blessing
