    Im having a weird problem: the sphere trace isnt showing and the player just doesnt warp to it. Did anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

      Make sure you’ve set the sphere trace visibility to visible and that you’ve followed everything correctly

    Hey There, The best series on hand to hand combat. There are others but they all are confusing. you are the best. I have a question though. I am stuck on setup arrow location. Do we need to set arrow in all the four directions? When I tried to do that my character disappeared. And I become a patreon can I get this project? and get it implemented in my game with animations from mixamo?

      Thanks for your kind words, for the arrows yes they need to be setup in all 4 directions which should be similar to how you setup the front arrows. And yes if you join the basic tier on Patreon you get access to the combat system, any other project files, and early access to videos. The combat v2 project also comes with a few extras, I wouldn’t recommend downloading v1 as there are a few bugs in there which are fixed in v2. Glad you’re enjoying the content!

    I don't know how I feel about how much the character is sliding around during animations. kinda looks like ass, would be more acceptable to miss your hit

      I’m not sure which part of the video you are referring to, this could be due to animations or if your referring to the motion warping that’s just the style of combat in some games for example Batman Arkham series does a lot of “sliding combat”

      Yeah a control rig should do the job, it all depends what style your going for combat wise. The style I went for was quite animated and unrealistic anyways but if your wanting to do a realistic style then your right things should not move like that lol

    Hey there, I completed the tutorial and it works but it crashes my project if you load it into world-partitioned levels. I turned off Is Spacially Loaded within the BP_checkpoint and fixed the issue, assuming the save data looks for said checkpoint before it loads properly in-game. Great tutorial otherwise and I hope to see more!

    How could you set this up to once you have enough xp for a level up that you need to open inventory then choose what stat to add level to? For ex like if you have a game where you have health, stamina, food, water etc. that you can choose where to put that particular level. Hope this makes sense

      ​@@MrKnowBodyUE5only thing if you insert quadruple of the max xp it's buggy in the sense that if the maximum is 500 and I give 2000xp it doesn't go up all the levels, you can solve it with a brunch.

    Nice series. Trying me best to follow along. Somewhere I not sure what Im doing wrong but my player's first strike in the combo hits but the follow up ones don't register the hit reaction even though in debug it showing the green contact sphere. It will randomly hit one or two out of the entire combo. I tried changing the arrow locations but it doesn't seem to want to chain so that the enemy hit reaction goes back to back like your example mines has like a delay of some sort best way I can describe if it hits. Any suggestions? A bit stumped.

      So if you dumb it down it becomes much easier to understand, essentially an inventory is just an array of items, if you want those items to actually be something you can store values for the items in a structure like their class and name. Now you have an array of items in game. Then to pick something up you add it to the array, to drop something you remove it from the array. That’s pretty much the basics it’s literally just arrays.

      100% you should give it a shot. Don’t use TH-cam, if you get stuck only use google as it requires you to think more.

    hi, i have implemeted this method into felxible combat system, made some changes and i like it. One problem, in CROUCH mode ( when i press LCTRL ) it is crouchin on speed, so the character slides fast. Any idea how to override that it is not affecting crouch and slow motion modes?       Honestly I’m not really sure how it would be effecting the crouching? I’ve set up a crouch system for this camera method and it worked just fine.

      So you’d need to add a branch to the sprint to make it if your crouched then you can’t sprint.

      It is, but it means you can easily use any door you want in your game. Free range of choice.

      So for each door, you’ll just drag the door blueprint out from your content browser, on the left and side in your details pane you can tick the correct boxes to set the door up how you’d like for example: sliding door, physics door etc and your good to go.

    Hi, thanks for the cool tutorial! Unfortunately, however, I have a problem that I just can't understand: my "Attack Counter" Int is not being changed. I've now watched the video at least three times from beginning to end, checked every node, but the "Switch on Int" node never gets to "1" and stays constantly at 0. If I set the default value of "Attack Counter" to 1, it works for one click and then switches back to "0" (and stays there). I would appreciate some help, because this tutorial series is exactly what I need and for now it's very understandable (which makes the problem so much worse, haha, because the logic MAKES sense, but still ..) By the way, I'm not able to join your Discord because the verification page does not work and redirects me to an error message when I try to verify myself. 🫠

      For the discord shoot me a Dm and ill verify you, as for the issue are you using the montage notify correctly, you should be calling the attack next notify and in the animation blueprint the event should be linked up to the combo attack event.

    Hey man, thank you so much for the Tutorial. I had been looking for days for something as simple as picking up and dropping, while being able to also hold more than 1 item at a time and to be able to put a limit on how many items you can hold. This video was the whole thing neatly wrapped up into one. I'm still learning Blueprints and Unreal and this video definitely motivated me to keep learning! Also if possible I have a request if you'd be willing to do a tutorial or to elaborate on it. How about for one handed items or weapons being able to switch from the right hand to the left. That would be amazing! Thank you again

    We are making game in climate Style resembling older nintendo games, at least something fairly close to them. And we are currently looking for a lead programmer to join Us! You play as a shop keeper and then you Sell items You've gathered each time you jump into the dungeon, so gameplay is split into two parts, Shop management and roguelike gameplay, If this sounds interesting enough to join, let me know where to send the concept art and tell you more about it !     Im at the end 24:58 when i press attack it does the first 2 anims straight away off the first press then the 3rd on second press (I only used 3 in my combo not 5) any ideas why?

      So I’m honestly not sure how I got the enemy to stop floating, it was a while ago and I honestly didn’t think anyone else would come across the same issue so I never really thought to publish the solution. However I can give you what the issue is, for some reason the can move Boolean variable in the animation blueprint will never change to true making it so the walking animation never plays. I’d suggest trying to Google the solution for this as I can’t really remember much else. Sorry to be of no help to you.

    For anyone wondering how to fix the bug where you throw the item and the sphere collision doesn't stay with the mesh all you have to do is make the mesh the default scene root and make sure the Transform is moveable and connect the interaction collision to that mesh and it should work fine.(you also don't need to change anything with the collision settings)

      I mean you can ask the 15,000 other people that managed to get it to work if it’s a scam. It’s not. You just got to make sure you are doing everything correctly. If you’re a beginner at unreal engine this probably isn’t the best video for you as it requires an intermediate skill with the engine. Instead of calling this video a scam, it would be better if you asked for help with what isn’t working in your project. You can do this via the discord.

    I thought I was purchasing your Patron account when I pressed Buy Now, but it's only the files OMG.😢 To move the Main character you have to click to move or initiate a fight. Can you please make the controller more like Red Dead Redemption or Grand Theft Auto?
