Crich Memorial Tower (Derbyshire)
The memorial tower ('Crich Stand') was completed in 1923. The large plaque in the foreground dedicates the tower to the memory of the soldiers from the Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment who died in World War I and World War II. Two further plaques are found beneath the railings, either side of the door. One further dedicates the memorial to those who died serving in the Sherwood Foresters regiment from 1945 to 1970, while the other further dedicates it to those who died serving the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment from 1970 to 2007 and the Mercian Regiment since 2007. The small plaque to the left is dedicated to Brigadier J.H.M. Hackett, 'Last Colonel The Sherwood Foresters 1965 - 1970 and First Colonel The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment'.

Wow
The Crich Stand memorial tower is a powerful testament to the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers from the Sherwood Foresters Regiment. Completed in 1923, the structure exudes a timeless dignity. The carefully inscribed plaques convey a detailed chronicle, honoring those who gave their lives in World War I and World War II, as well as recognizing the service of the regiment in subsequent years. The transition from the Sherwood Foresters to the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment and eventually the Mercian Regiment is thoughtfully captured in the memorial's design. The inclusion of a plaque dedicated to Brigadier J.H.M. Hackett adds a personal touch, commemorating a pivotal figure in the regiment's history. Overall, the Crich Stand stands as a solemn and respectful tribute, preserving the memory of those who served with enduring significance.
Crich Memorial Tower offers a moving tribute to WWI soldiers, with a climb to the top providing breathtaking views. A meaningful destination for history and nature enthusiasts.
The 18th Century Georgian Era in Britain was Policeless. No Constabulary either.
In the summer this year, my parents and I went to visit Framlingham Castle & Orford Castle. At both the castles in glass cases for museum show were Wooden Batons. Constables Batons.

❤❤❤❤❤Beautiful
There is a beautiful castle/ruins that you can walk around. We booked accommodation in advance and there's a small parking lot nearby, which is free of charge. There's also a souvenir shop where you can buy items like cups or T-shirts with information about the history written on them. They have children versions as well, but they are less detailed than the adult ones. Kids and adults alike found the tower to be both beautiful and interesting. It has magnificent chimneys, which can be walked on top of, as well as lovely views from its heights. The tower may close during windy conditions for safety reasons; however, there are basic toilets located on-site. We highly recommend this attraction for family outings!
