He's doing nothing overly technical in this clip. I'm not taking anything away from him. He's good at lots of different aspects of guitar and very technical if he wants to be. I think what you're referring to is the layers of guitars over his years of experience in the clip. They sound very full and dynamic. Having very high gain amplifiers helps do what he does. And a guitar tech.. etc
