Clarksonville - A Free Village
Parish: St. Ann, Jamaica
It was named by Rev. John Clark, Baptist minister stationed at Brown's Town in St Ann in 1835, for Thomas Clarkson, an English advocate of the abolition of slavery. It was one of the first set of free villages to be established just after emancipation. The land was purchased to be used as a settlement for ex-slaves after August 1, 1838.

RIP Uncle Hurleigh.❤
This man is right. These young people in rural Jamaica don’t understand that the mango trees and other fruit trees that they are eating from, was planted by the people before them. Everyone has to leave something for future generations. I guess this generation is going to leave rum, boom and weed, because they don’t plant anything!

What year was this video made? Because I remembered a very beautiful teacher , whom I thought was from Inverness, and her name was Pansy Watson. This lady taught us at Charlton School. She was not only beautiful, but kind, and gentle to the children.
The video was made in 2020. Yes she taughy at Charlton Primary but she is from Clarksonville/Aboukir.
@ClarksonvilleTV Respect! A few of us whom she taught in school were always reminiscing about those good old days, her name always came up.
Great teacher.
Rest in peace uncle Hurleigh when you told me you are in a better place, and you are alright. I know you are experiencing peace.sip❤

One of the best teachers that has ever grazed the grounds and class rooms of the Clarksonville all age school. I will always remember you in a very positive way, I will never forget the days when we spend a lot of days practicing for festival competitions, (music, speech and drama) which of course were very rewarding, we brought home many medals for the school which qualifies us to even entaining tourist at various hotels on the north coast 3 nights per week. I personally hail you Ms Johnson, Mr & Mrs Walters(past Principal) Mrs Haik, Ms Burrell, Mrs Folks and our very past student who also became a young teacher there, very brilliant , Ms Wilson also now deceased. Always love you
Junel Lawrence So many lives you have touched, impacted, enriched, developed skills, talents and gifts; so many you have r helped and paved the way for. So many you have pushed into their purpose…principal/teacher Johnson you have left an indelible mark in this earth, a legacy that’s next to none. A true education stalwart, champion, trend setter and pioneer. 🦋🦋🦋

Clarkeville Tv. Congratulation on your new channel. Could you please highlight the new Watt Town Post Office. It was closed for a while, and is now open with a new library. And also high light the Alexandria Hospital. They need to open it back. I remember the days when Dr. Paul Magnus was the resident Doctor. St. Ann is the second largest Parish with only one hospital. Its a shame There is a large consentration of people living in that area and on the out skirt. Plus you have the Bob Marley Mosoleum at Nine Mile. (Stephnie). Please, please highlight these places. Congratulation on the New Watt Town Post Office. Kerp Up The Good Work. Blessings.
Keep Up The Good Work. Blessings.
