My name is Melissa and I'm a zero base budgeter. I'm married with two young children. My husband and I both have full-time jobs. We combine our income into one account. We make all of our payments from that account. We transfer an allowance (blow money) and gas money from our joint account into our separate personal accounts. We have been budgeting this way our whole marriage (13 years). I recently discovered savings challenges. I think it adds fun to our budgeting system. Yes, I got a lot of these mini savings challenges from other creators… if you search for freebie Fridays in TH-cam, then click on the videos and go to their description boxes. It will take you to their Google Docs Dr. in their Kofi pages. I have also bought some from Etsy, but you really don’t need to buy anything because the freebies are really, really nice!! Dave Ramsey constantly urges people to clear their mortgage without delay rather than delay to play with numbers for investment. Way to go!!!
I definitely understand both sides of it but the freedom you get without having a mortgage. It’s just worth so much more than money for me.
