Startups are sexy. From revolutions to disruptions to pivots, running your own startup is an appealing but unfortunately buzzword-heavy endeavor. Startup Different is here to show you that there’s another, better way to build your business.
Hosted by successful software entrepreneurs and brothers David and Chris Sinkinson, who sold their bootstrapped business for tens of millions of dollars, Startup Different gives you proven ideas and frameworks that can help you create a legitimate startup without all the nonsense and mythology.

Interview with Ameya Juvekar, Serial Entrepreneur (Season 4, Episode 9)
Once upon a time, Chris and I had a few different businesses on the go. It’s not uncommon for early founders to do this as they’re trying to figure out what works in the market.
But that definitely doesn’t mean it’s easy. Today, we’re speaking with Ameya Juvekar, an entrepreneur with a diverse background in business, marketing, revenue generation, and technology. He’ll be talking about his two companies, ScaleUp42 - a marketing firm that specializes in customer acquisition for health and wellness clinics - and HealthBuddha.ca - a platform that connects patients to the best rated nearby naturopaths .
It’s interview time on Startup Different!

Crazy we like Joel Osteen stop here preaching you’ve got nothing like Joel
No preaching! Just trying to help pay it forward to our entrepreneurial peers! 😊
You'll own nothing and be happy.
The advantage of being "the network"... No inventory to handle yourself!
What year was it at the heel of the hockey stick?
It's usually a projection of future growth, so it's likely Navio is right around the heel now and moving upward.
I am no closer to understanding what Navio is or what makes anything they do "really cool."
Hi - Thanks for your reply! Navio is a platform that streamlines immigration, and they're taking a very innovative approach to an otherwise slow and time consuming process. We really like it because they're scaling something that was previously thought to be unscalable. See our podcast interview with Navio Founder Brooke Finlay for a detailed explanation: th-cam.com/video/68Eqfei04Fs/w-d-xo.html

Haha Dave's pretty ridiculous.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LOVING IT
I think you meant Teletype machine, not Telegraph. Basically like a Daisy wheel printer/typewriter connected to a phone line to transmit/receive messages. In the early 80s my school still had one in the computer lab (that we had computer labs in the early 80s was frankly amazing) just to show kids different office techs. I think I only saw it used once. It's possible it was used administratively by the school to get messages from the school board HQ or something.
Did some googling, and I think you might be right - good catch! Even our Dad (self described fax machine expert) was a bit foggy on which tech was used before fax. The key differentiator was that the fax machine had the signature, and that's why the fax technology became popular. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :)
Hey! Dave here. Thanks WhiskyCanuck for this! You're TOTALLY right. Thanks for the correction!
@@StartupDifferent Yeah. It still gets me that doctors & lawyers still use faxes because of the manual signature (vs digital cryptographic signature), and some weird perceptions about the security around it. - T1
Minimum wage and 2X min wage, and you are handing out smart phones and other cheap crap at your little corporate pep rallies. Do you give them a gold star sticker when they do good too? Wow, where do I sign up?
Thanks for the comment Joe. Yeah, it can be tough to strike a balance between giving too much and too little praise/support. Obviously we were more on the side of giving more than less - and that's not everyone's approach. But generally it worked pretty well (except for the occasional sideways flying employee review).
Wow, so true! This is real good stuff right here. Whew, I’m still reeling from it. What a rush.
It isnt bro 💀
