PUFfeR 2024
The 30th edition of the classic PUFFER trail run in Cape Town, from Cape Point to Green Point. 65km in distance over a mix of trail and tar. This is my 7th time running, and this first time non-competitively. With a baby at home, my training was limited, and I paid the price on the day, but I finished.

My first attempt at the 100 mile distance. Very well organized, community supported event in the KZN midlands of South Africa. Beautiful, varied route. There is no easy 100 miler.
George MUT by UTMB 100km
มุมมอง 3.5Kปีที่แล้ว
My run at the 100km MUT by UTMB in George, South Africa, and the Outeniqua mountains. An absolutely beautiful part of the country with a seemingly endless network of trails. This was my 7th 100km trail run finish, and it was a very tough race, and one i will not soon forget.

The Peninsula Ultra Fun Run My experience of the 2022 PUFfeR trail run, from Cape Point to Green Point over 65km. This race was a tale of two halves for me, being right at the sharp end to blowing up and slowing to a walk.

My second time running this incredible race, in the most beautiful mountains, After enjoying it so much last year, I had to come back again, and I'm so pleased that i did. A superbly organised event, run on the most amazing trails. I can't recommend it enough.
Ultra Trail Cape Town 2021 - UTCT
มุมมอง 10K3 ปีที่แล้ว
My run at the Ultra Trail Cape Town 100km with 4800m of vertical gain. A beautiful, but extremely tough run, on very technical terrain. This was my 5th time starting this event, and am happy to have been able to document it.
Three Peaks Challenge 2021
มุมมอง 1.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
My 7th consecutive participation in this classic Cape Town trail running event. 47km with 3200m of elevation. The race takes you up to Devils Peak, Table Mountain, and Lion's Head returning back to Greenmarket Square in town after each one. Strong competition this year, and humid conditions made for a tough day out. Regardless, as long as I'm able, I'll keep coming back.

A 5-day hike through the majestic Fish River Canyon in Namibia with 4 great friends, including the legendary Peter 'The Plumber' Lamond, who completed the entire adventure in his slip slops at 75 years old. This was an incredible experience, and I already can't wait to go back to do it again.
Ultra Trail Drakensberg 2021 - 100km

My run at the 2021 Ultra Trail Drakensberg 100km. An incredible trail running event in the Drakensberg mountains in South Africa. Tough, as any trail ultra marathon should be, but so beautiful.
Running around the Cape

A collection of clips from the all the runs I've taken my GoPro on over the last 6 months. All but 3 clips are from in and around Cape Town, where we just have the most wonderful playground right on our doorstep.
Kloof Corner Ridge for Coffee
มุมมอง 2.1K5 ปีที่แล้ว
One of the spicier routes up Table Mountain. I love going up for a morning coffee, and even more so with friends joining in on the fun. This route involves a few sections of chains, a couple of scrambles on rocks and involves a fair bit of exposure. It's exhilarating , and always great having friends along doing it for the first time, as Matt and Hayden did today.
Ultra Trail Cape Town 2019 100km (UTCT 2019)
มุมมอง 7K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This is my run at the Ultra Trail Cape Town 2019 100km race. This was the last event of the Ultra Trail World Tour races for the year, and drew a stellar field. I ran with my GoPro, and took it out when i could, mostly during the first half of the race, as is evident in the footage. What an incredible day it was. I finished in 12;48, in 30th position and got to run the last 40km with Ryan Sande...
Amazing Pete! Any tips for those of us training for this year? More trail and Hiking or more road running?
I just started training long distance 3 months ago. Started out wanting to just get a sub-22 5km, now I'm watching your video thinking: "I could do this in 2 years if I start training now". Once the bug bites, it bites HARD. Thanks for posting your experience :)
What an epic video! Definitely keen to give this race a try🤩
Another great video! Never heard of this race before but looks cool! Well done
So inspiring, thanks for documenting your adventure!
@@Mattbarentsen Thanks so much. It was really tough and it’s not always easy to keep recording, so I appreciate anyone who watches and enjoys the content 🙏🏼
Great video Pete
@@garystrails9230 Cheers Gary… it was a rough one out there this year. When can we expect your movie?

Dude. U are such an inspiration. Keep it up,
What a video 🔥 had it all from start to finish! Cool to see what it takes to get through a race like this.
Thank you🎉
Brilliant effort and a great video. I didn't see any marker flags in your filming. Is the route marked with flags like in other UTMB races?
Fantastic welldone champ!!!! Really enjoyed the video. Love Karkloof! Your a beast
@@in-reachrun7225 Thanks a lot. It was real grind out there. A great event.

Thank you very much. It was super tough, but an incredible experience. I appreciate you watching.
Race organisers never learned anything from previous races they should post makers tape closer at night
What camera did you use....the new Insta360 ACE PRO might be something to check out.
@@runningstories4791 Hi there. I use my GoPro hero 7. I have seen very good reviews of the Insta360 camera, but I’ve got no scope to upgrade yet. Will definitely consider it when I do.
Well done Pete, massive effort getting that done!
You are crazy Pete 😂 but insanely well done!
Epic! Wow amazing achievement! Well done for hanging in thru thick and thin.
Well done Pete! Amazing effort!!
Incredible effort at toughing it out. Well done.

Great Run! Wich one is harder? 100k UTCT or 100k drakensberg? 🤔
You make look so easy, this is also on my bucket list
Thanks , but I promise you they aren’t easy. So much suffering during these runs.
Yep, moving up slowly. Recce Raid 65km, and the Harties loop 80km 2024, will then go for 100km races from 2025.
Well done
where is d route ?location I mean
Awesome video, well done. I'm doing CCC next week and wondered if you could share what the trails and descents are like underfoot? How rocky, slippery etc. I'm unsure which shoes to wear!
Hi Alex. So cool you’re getting to run this year. Have a great time. The trails are great, but of course it depends on the conditions. We had a big rain shower last year and it became very muddy on the singletrack , but after it cleared there were no issues at all. I ran in the Altra Mont Blanc and they were perfect for me. Great grip, and a fair bit of cushioning. Have a great run. Enjoy it as much as possible.
I want to register ccc 100 km help me
I took me 4 years to finally get an entry. The entry system has changed now with UTMB ‘stones’ required for the entry process. Good luck. I hope you get in. It’s a fantastic run.
Going again this year an am inspired by you - watching again
Aaah great to hear. I hope you have a great run. I would love to be going back again myself. Maybe another year.
Love that they start with “the ecstasy of gold”
Did Peter join you guys from outside the group?
No, we were in fact guests of Peter and his son, Nic on this adventure.
Really inspiring Pete. Fans from TH. I ll be in CCC 2023, can't wait
Thank you very much. I hope you have a great run this year. It’s tough, but beautiful.
