There is a game I want to tell you about, as a black guy I have to let you know about this. There is a hack & slash game that`s in development, what makes this game special to me is for the first time in the hack & slash genre the main character is black, on top of that the developer is black. The game look sick, it has a visual aesthetic simular to beyond the spider-verse, you can preform parkour, you can switch stances, its futuristic, it has afro-beats music and the main character looks and sounds sick. The game is called: Yasuke a Lost Descendant If you`re interested check it out and support the devs (Dalliance Studios). Shouts out to hack & slash games, they are making a comeback.

So the game is based on Journey To The West, specifically it acts as an unofficial sequel. There are reference everywhere but the game gives no background information or context for these references or the original novel. Personally it won't deter you from enjoying the game but you're going to be very confused since the game operates under the assumption that you read or know that much about Journey To The West. If you want context I suggest watching lore videos, there are a lot of those.
