Tony Ray-Jones A Day Off
มุมมอง 1.3K3 ปีที่แล้ว
England in the late 1960s. The country is tired and a bit forlorn. Tea is 6d a cup in a landscape of umbrellas, shingle, rain, beauty parades, deckchairs, and fish and chips. You can almost hear the crunch of shingle or the slurp of ice cream in a Ray-Jones photograph. I discovered his work in the early 80s and was astonished by his skills of composition, timing, boldness, and by his innate cur...
Slow Train - Flanders and Swann
มุมมอง 2.7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
One of my earliest memories was standing on the edge of a platform, holding tightly onto my grandmother’s hand, as we waited for the train bringing my grandfather home from London. It finally arrived in a huge cloud of steam and hissed and clanked to a halt right beside us. The driver and fireman leaned out of their cab and asked my grandmother whether I’d like to be lifted up onto the footplat...

It seems a metaphor, possibly for our lives; possibly for the end of empire - a reaching out for something that for many of us, is just out of reach, and for the younger among us, is no longer there. I love the pictures and the presentation of this production.
Terrific production…!
Is it possible to listen to this anywhere without adverts?
Thank you Tareth, I loved doing this meditation, I yawned all through it but I know it was clearing my rubbish out. Thank you
Don’t agree with that man’s evolution, planet, oxygen, Darwinian speech.
Commercial Quakerism! Cool!
I had my awakening in 1987; I felt the Earth shift. It triggered a kundalini awakening. Only much later did I hear of this big event. ✨🤍✨🐬🏝️
Just how many of these well financed extreme left wing groups is there? The people behind them seem to be desperate to ensure that they do not lose control of the narrative.....but they will ...
Recently listened to an interview with Martin Parr in which he talks about his enduring love and respect for Tony Ray Jones' photos. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to see these great pictures. Some similarities to Bruce Davidson's England and Scotland 1960
Ha - yes I agree! Tony Ray Jones had a huge influence on Martin Parr's development as a photographer. As much as I deeply admire Martin's photography my heart always returns to Tony Ray Jones' enduring images.
Sir, that wil be amazing, especially on the woodrat! Look forward to seeing that, hopefully very soon!
This really does take me back.
These brave souls helped us come through. I was born in Sept 1987, and had such a hard time to adapt here, indeed it felt like being dropped into an insane asylum. After years of fog, the veil is surely lifted and we're doing to job we came here to do. It's important for all to know that change must first be done in the mind the only device of choice and change to then be reflected in the envoronment and else where. Cause mind = effect, anything else. Light os growing bigger here and now with every mind that's changed, and how remembers our divine nature, gifts and origin in the Universal Mind of our creator. A time for rejoining. 💜

Thanks to my friend Jenny for sharing this: we were there, amazing time. In my meditation, my vision was one of beaming love and light into the world, radiating out from my heart chakra, whilst that same energy was incoming via my crown chakra. We were concerned about the planet then, from tropical forest burning, extinctions, to ozone depletion, and had just heard about climate change. We knew that consciousness needed to be raised. Whilst there have been small victories over the years, the power and greed of the fossil fuel economy has continued unabated. Its now Christmas 2023. We have just emerged from the farce of COP 28 in Dubai. I live in the UK where our politics is entirely captured by the corporate power and I and some of my activist friends are being convicted and imprisoned for ringing the alarm-bell. Climate breakdown is manifest and our stupid government is still licensing new oil licences along with huge tax breaks and subsidies, all the while crushing the roll-out of renewables: this is the conspiracy between the political, media and corporate classes. Its not enough on its own to meditate: we need to act in community with love and light and take power from the maniacs who would sacrifice everything, and think they are immune and can ride out the thousand years storm that is coming. The imperative is to use our privilege and freedom, now, wisely and to not squander it. We haven't got long.
Well done keep going
I was born in 1991 after this event I just want to thank everyone who took part. I believe wholeheartedly this worked. There has definitely been a shift. 💜✨
Thank you so much for your comment @luckyraye88 It was a profound few days around the planet and I agree that soemthing shifted in August 1987. Jose Arguelles, who initiated this event, got to see our Glastonbury film which was lovely.
This meditation is Very profound. My heart opened fully on the Crown Chakra outbreath connecting everything. Wow . 🙏Thanks you Thank you Tareth 🙏
I do think its this event that turned things in our favor. Thank you to everyone who participated. These days and months are now our time to hold the vision high. If not you, then who? If not now then when? There is always one drama after another that demands your attention and energy. Turn away from it and stay in peace. Best thing we can do
Thank you so much Krissukristel - some experiences stay in our hearts for ever........
A return visit. So good to hear this again and see Sir George once more. I miss him, although I have no doubt that he is with us in Spirit.
Thank you Adrian! I think he is. He inspired a whole generation of speakers and thinkers and I believe his spirit is with us urging us on.....
Real change built from the grass roots! Quite 😊
Keep it going ✊
Wonderful film and i always feel welkom in Glastonbury it is the place to be
Hi there, do you own this video?
Thanks very much for your email Allegra. Yes we do. It’s almost 49 years ago now! Kind regards Kevin
@@hutonthehill Thank you for confirming Kevin! Would you happen to have any other archival material from the 1980s New Age movement? If there's an email address that I can reach, happy to send over a message. Best, Allegra
39 right ?@hutonthehill
A sad and beautiful song.
Brilliant, amazing, so inspiring!! 💚
He is fantastic.
A man , the real Sam SMITH ..
A while ago you, dear Sam, would have been the most important person in any community. Without a blacksmith how would a horse driven and horse powered community have ever survived? Keep your skills alive and flourishing, we may need you much more in the future. Much love and admiration. xx🥰🥰🥰xx
Don't worry - when you compare yourself to the other Sam Smith (now he is crazy) - you are far more talented.
I think mr. Hammill would have wished he had written this beautiful song.
Brilliant!
Magic lvl? Nice Just organizing my tabs
As a child after arriving at Hazel Grove station with my parents, they stopped to thank the footpath crew for their work (People did that sort of thing back then) the crew offered to let me drive the train for about 5 yards. I too was too scared to set foot upon the footplate, and I too have regretted not accepting their invitation ever since. From my bedroom window I could see the bridge where the LNER Manchester to London line crossed the LMS Manchester to Buxton, and at night I could hear the shunters shifting trucks ready for the following day. Between them this song and your video and sound effects have just given me a trip back to my childhood... Ta.
Thank you so very much for sharing such a rich, evocative memory. It took a while to find the various sound effects I needed. Audio recordings from the 60s, during the last years of steam, are few and far between and those I could find were very poor quality. But there are plenty of excellent recordings from the heritage steam lines that helped to tell the story. I loved your memory of the evocative sounds of night time shunters shifting trucks. I made the video for my dad, who adored steam trains and the songs of Flanders and Swann, but his Alzheimers was too far advanced by the time I showed it to him.
Beautifully done, true nostalgia!
This is so lovely.
I had my awakening spiritual experience in 87 but this is the first time I've heard about the harmonic convergence of 87
Glastonbury is the place to be And feel free
👍😃👏👏
So the peoples vote we had last time was not a peoples vote? So if Leave wins again will that be a peoples vote? or does it only count if commy bastards get there vote?
Internet will have started up then as well. I regularly write to someone on youtube who lives between the two main Mayan pyramids.

Brilliant I had never even heard about this, why not?
Thank you! This event shows the young generations that they are borned with so much bless and gratitude from all humankind. Thank you!! Beautiful! !And the people who attended the events are all creating the futures and new timelines for their children and earth itself. What an amazing thing !
I wasn't in Glastonbury...I was just outside of Dallas Texas with a Second Grade School Teacher. We went to a peaceful cemetery as the sun rose. We were part of it in our own small way. I rarely thought about it. Until I started my Ascension on November 11,2021 that is...I love Gaia, and we must honor her.. if we wish to go with her as She ascends🧡 OneLove Y'all 🧡 Post script: as I watched this, they introduced Rupert Sheldrake . Curiosity got the better of me, so googled it soon enough Cosmo Sheldrake's father! If you've not heard Cosmo's music, favor yourself by checking him out! He's whimsical and lilting and literally will take you on a journey outside of yourself! Finding this out was like a gift straight from Source!
Thanks for this Shawn. So great to read your experience of Harmonic Convergence in Dallas. Bright blessings from the Isle of Avalon
What a great photographer he was! I don't like that you zoom in an out on his images in this video though. A still image is a still image. You ruin the experience and the way the original photographer presents the moment he took the picture....
Thanks Jan J for your very thoughtful comment. I guess we all have different ways of appreciating the art of photography. There is the overall framing and timing of the picture itself and I know he was very precise with his framing, but sometimes seeing the astonishing detail he captured in every photograph he took makes me appreciate his remarkable gift even more and that is what I have tried to respect.
@@hutonthehill While understanding Jan J's point, however as a photographer for many decades, when checking any shot, composition and detail are the first thing I look for when editing. Street photography is mostly taken on the fly and honestly it's not until (even with digital) you view it on the computer does the whole image come alive and can be be judged as a keeper or otherwise. Congratulations on the audio and shot sequencing. I was 17 in '65 and you & Tony Ray-Jones really took me back there. Many thanks for posting.
@@hutonthehill yes we are all different, and that is fine :) Take care!
My birthday 🥳 thank you for your knowledge 🙏🏼
thank you for sharing this video. I came here from the book "Power vs Force", where it's written that thanks to this event, the global consciousness surpassed the critical level of 200, and I see how.
