BMW N54 Manual Transmission Fluid Drain & Fill

Changing the transmission fluid on my 6 speed N54 E60 2009 535i. Kind of cut it short because I have to get another bottle but there’s really not much else to it! Just fill her up until fluid comes out. The fill bolt gets torqued on the same as the drain bolt. Happy to answer any questions in the comments.

Hello!! Where did you buy the vapor barrier?
FCP Euro
@ thank you, can u help me find it ? Is it called sound isolation on the site?
@ what model and year do you have and which door do you need? I can help you find the part number on realoem
@@nicksbmwservice i have a 2007 lci e60 its the rear passenger door, thank you so much
What POV camera is this ?

How are you able to get newTIS website working? I always had "Site Closed" screen. Could you please explain how to get it working?
Unfortunately I can't go into it further but if you Google around enough you'll find the answer! ISTA also has all the same information
I got a 2011 And i need to change the spark plugs and the oil pan bolt slip can you do a video replacing those things
So I'm actually going to be doing an oil pan on an E70 N55 over the next couple of weeks. I'll definitely be posting videos about that! I'll also be doing the valve cover on that one too so I'll cover the spark plugs.
Hi there I was just wondering want website were you using with the instructions?
I use ISTA for my tech data
Your shunt needs to be in series with the load not just monitoring the battery voltage. The way you have it wired you can't get an accurate indication of charge/discharge of your system. Overall a good presentation.
Great job, nice clean wiring job.
Im about to attempt the rear quarter window. Thanks for the video.
I ordered that yesterday, lets see when i get that. Any issues with work that machine? I ask questions from Ancel, but never get any answers or details for that tool.... Think that must be somekind "overpriced" unknown brand, which has not any customer support... Looks like Ancel is one man company, which sells china tools with different brand called Ancel. you've been using the tool for two months now, and I'd love to hear your experiences and opinions. are there any faults with this device? at least there were typos, like "somke off", which probably means smoke off.
Where did u find the seal?
Heading to AutoZone rn to see if they got this. I'll update if i get this sleeve out
OHhhh... !! Thank you for video ! You are the first one who did this on a BMW E 60!!! ))) I couldn't find anyone to tell me how to do this! I will soon be faced with this task of replacement!
Would you buy it again? I’m in the same boat. I need one and was thinking about giving it a shot. You’re the only video I’ve found with it.I can’t even find it on Ancel’s website but I did find it on eBay for only 289.00
Do you have to warm up transmission before if so how much and how just drive or idle?
@@Rochebuilt no not on the manual. It’s a simple drain and fill just like your engine oil
Nice! Thanks for the detailed overview!
Nice setup. Watching from Thomaston, Georgia
More info on the build. I'm slowly building one, 200 amp version. The display that tells the power, what brand?
i have a 535xi im wondering if it'll be as open!
I definitely think so! The xi nonsense really only comes into play in the front subframe area. Transmission back should be pretty similar
@@nicksbmwservice how is the syncromax fluid going for you? I'm gonna tackle it this weekend I have 75w toptec 5100 mtf from liquimolly and the Mos2 friction modifier!
Thank you for a really good informative video. I like the noco charger set up. Could you please tell me what model charger you have and the accessories that you bought to get it working through the lid, thank you
What size fuses do you have for the USB and cigarette
Most automobile applications run a max of 12 amps in those types of outlets. So I put a 15 amp fuse on them
Wow..! AWESOME setup..!
that very nice build love it 😇😇😇😇 well i build my own but i have 20Amp breaker switch for my 110 A/C out so my inverter not will wrong with it the breaker will just flip like breaker that in house
Nice!!!

@@nicksbmwservice 🥰🥰🥰🥰thanks not finish building it yet need more things then i post video
Does this kit support pass through charging? Meaning would I be able to have the solar panel hooked up and charging the battery while my phone is plugged in to the USB and charging?
Absolutely! I explain it briefly in some other videos, but your monitor screen will show you the difference between what amperage you’re charging at and drawing at. Once I get this box wired up, I’ll make a video on that and show how it works!
Is this dude making the video while driving?? 💀💀
No, just checking the turn signals 😃
He is the dumbass is wearing mirrored glasses u can see the road, and cars 😂😂
What shunt and meter are you running I’m in the process of building me a setup kinda like yours

@@nicksbmwservice Thank you kindly sir. Great build, working on mine now. Stuffing Battery charger/tender in there as well, to male 120v port. This way I can shove the extension cord in there and keep it at the ready.
Pretty fantastic build
I’m having all kinds of trouble out of the plastic clips that holds the legs up. Total pain.
All these videos are meaningless and help no one. I have this here, and this here blablabla.
Meaningless..... like this comment?
That fridge has a compressor? I thought most of those smaller, portable ones use thermoelectric cooling through peltier effect. Added after the fact: Oops, I guess I have some reading to do. I just found a car refrigerator with similar form factor that uses r134. Alrighty then. The one I found claims to be thermoelectric so that's even more confusing.
Great build! Thanks for sharing.
Please make a video how you build your power station. I want to build one my self. 😊😊😊 Thanks and more power!
it very easy once you know what you doing how run wire etc 🥰🥰🥰🥰😇😇😇he do very good job
Great video awesome job, anyway to get parts list?
I don't have a parts list but if you need any help i can explain stuff and link you to various parts. nmproia@gmail.com
In the process of planning out a power box... I see a lot of these with fans to ventilate, seemingly just to keep the charger inside the box while charging without getting too hot. Is that the only reason for ventilation? If so, I think I'm going to opt toward simply storing the charger in the box, and when time comes to charge the battery, I'll simply pull out the charger and leave it out when charging since it'll be plugged into a wall anyway at that point and doesn't need to be portable for that duration. I'd rather have a little more protection from the elements with no fans and holes as this will be on the boat.
Yep just for the charger! Not needed if you won’t use the charger inside the box.
@@nicksbmwservice Made sense to me. Thanks for the quick response!
See my comment above! www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZSMRFQT?ref=myi_title_dp
Fabulous!!!! I’m curious how much the whole unit weighs as well as how much say the battery weighs on its own? I take long multi-state, thousand mile motorcycle trips with my wife, her dog while pulling a small cargo trailer so I’m constantly looking for ways to save on weight. While also being able to have and use certain things that run on electricity is ideal. I purchased a Jackery unit but it did not seem to last very long for what we needed it for. Also how much do you believe you put into this system in terms of money? Thanks!
We have used the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!
Great job! I built one with a 30A batt and it runs my 47w ICECO fridge for 7 hrs before the fridge shuts down for low v. Something to think about… how does the box vent that hot air when recharging on AC? The fan is just a current draw. I would move the AC charger out of the box and let solar do the charging and dump the fan. Deletes two items. Just a thought but great job!
Thanks. I’ve been using it for over a year and hot air or the fan is not a problem. Yes the charger gets a tad warm when in use but nothing to be concerned about. And the fan, I could have left it out. It’s switched, so not always running but when it is on it’s only like 0.1a draw. I installed a 20amp dcdc charger in the truck that does 90% of the charging now. Runs my fridge and everything else for 2-3 days with no help

Nice build. The biggest thing I would have done differently is to have a main breaker instead of a fuse. If you're in the middle of nowhere and blow a main fuse, do you have a spare?
No but I have supplies/equipment in my tool kit to make a temporary repair if needed.
Any low voltage shut off as to not drain the battery all the way? it will kill a non deep cell battery pretty quick.
This is a deep cell battery. It also has its own BMS that cuts itself off if capacity gets too low.
@@nicksbmwservice nice! Do you have a link? I’m looking to build one to put on my Dewalt tough system set up in my work trailer, for charging my tool batteries without using the generator in neighborhoods, but will be charging it off my trucks trailer accessory power wire.
@@nicksbmwservice I’ve killed several batteries running the trailer lights off them and forgetting to shut them off is why I mentioned it, I had to add a low voltage shut off to them.

Dude why don't you have a bullbar?. Also how did you get a 200 series in the US?
do you have a circuit breaker for the main fuse box? i put one on mine because it's a massive 120AH battery and i thought it would be better safe than sorry.
