    Of course it wouldn't be wise to set the trip alarm with matches, in the fall where dry leaves and sticks are lying around. There are some people without common sense that would do that. Or someone not thinking correctly.

    • @sonicplanet9193
      @sonicplanet9193 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@WildSurviveHub You're welcome, and no. There is actually a definition for Bushcraft, and it doesn't involve turning lightbulbs into candles. That's a cute little trick you copied from someone else, but the odds of having an unbroken bulb and a bottle of vegetable oil in the bush are slim, and it's also completely pointless. Just build a fire. Saves time and resources.

    • @WildSurviveHub
      @WildSurviveHub หลายเดือนก่อน

      While traditional bushcraft techniques often involve building fires, there are various skills and techniques that can be useful in different situations. The lightbulb trick is just one example of creative problem-solving in survival scenarios. It may not be applicable in every situation, but it's always interesting to explore different methods. Ultimately, the goal is to share knowledge and inspire others to think outside the box when it comes to survival skills.

    • @sonicplanet9193
      @sonicplanet9193 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@WildSurviveHub I agree. However, in a survival situation you're probably not going to have an unbroken lightbulb and vegetable oil to make a candle with, and if you've actually done it, as I have, you'll realize very quickly that it's a waste of calories and totally useless. There are a lot of trendy channels out there grasping for views, copying these 'creative solutions', who are going to get people killed. If you have a candle, burn it. Don't saw out a log, split it into four sections, hollow out the center, melt your candle, pour it into the log, set some jute as a wick, and fashion a new candle. Just burn the candle you started with. I get that it has a novel effect, and that it's interesting to see what you can do with random household items, but that's not bushcraft or wilderness survival. That's playtime fun. I'm an instructor with 30+ years under my belt, prior Air Force. I have spent the majority of my life in survival situations. I can tell anyone who's reading this that you will gain nothing from a lightbulb candle, other than as a party trick. It's fun. That is all.

    • @WildSurviveHub
      @WildSurviveHub หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's important to recognize that survival situations can vary greatly, and what works in one scenario may not be applicable in another. While the lightbulb candle trick may indeed be more of a novelty than a practical survival skill, it's valuable to explore different techniques and creative solutions. I appreciate your emphasis on practicality and efficiency, especially in life-or-death situations. It's worth noting that the example you provided about sawing out a log and fashioning a new candle isn't something I demonstrate in my videos. However, I understand your concerns about trendy channels potentially promoting impractical or unsafe techniques. As someone with extensive experience and expertise in survival, your perspective is incredibly valuable. Ultimately, the goal is to share knowledge and encourage critical thinking in all aspects of bushcraft and wilderness survival.

    • @WildSurviveHub
      @WildSurviveHub หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, there are several natural oils found in nature that can be used for cooking. Some common examples include: Olive oil: Extracted from olives, this oil is widely used in Mediterranean cuisine and is rich in monounsaturated fats. Coconut oil: Made from the flesh of coconuts, coconut oil is high in saturated fats and has a distinct flavor, making it suitable for various dishes.

    I was with you 100% till i saw you eating a fried egg with chopsticks. Use a fork or at least a spoon, even a fairly wide knife would work fine you need surface area, OR even just tip the whole pan back and shimmy it off the edge lol; just not chopsticks, that's straight up adding more effort to eating. I love chopsticks, I eat with them honestly around 4-7 times a week usually, but they are not meant for fried eggs, even when i add fried eggs to rice, I dont even bother trying to pick at it, I just surround it with rice.

      Thanks for your feedback! 🍳 I appreciate your honesty. I must admit, eating fried eggs with chopsticks was a bit of an experiment for me.
