Gone through the archives here and found this. The audio quality really isn't great so I've had to edit this quite heavily but now it is listenable. Glinda - Sophie Evans January 30, 2022 My Master

One of the best renditions of the song I've seen live. Ross also adds a few riffs here and there. Elphaba - Alexia Khadime Fiyero - Ross Harmon (u/s) July 2023, My Master

Incredible Defying Gravity performed by Alexia Khadime. She fumbled a bit getting into the lift, so her second "it's me" is cut very short. Glinda - Christine Tucker (u/s) Madame Morrible - Natalie Spriggs (u/s) July 2023, My Master

3:23 love the again riff
Do you have a video of this?
I was there on 31/10.. I cryed❤❤❤❤
It’s the growl on the first “ME down” for me 😍
Rent was DUE
that 'again' guuuurl🤯🤩 she killed it. Btw I love she's singing in the og, kinda idina menzel version, simple and gorgeous af
I love her quick opt-up riff at the very end!!
I've seen her twice in the last few months and she's amazing
next time someone goes PLEASEEEE try to record her cat fight scene!!!!
Alexia is fantastic, but this performance feels like another step up. Amazing!
LOVE LOVE LOVE how the London production feels so alive again!! Alexia and Lucy are incredible and refreshing, both knocking it out of the park, and love how the Orchestra is allowed to mess around more, it keeps it fresh now that they're not so tight on keeping it to the score. I believe they also recently updated their lighting and it looks SO GOOD. SO happy with the changes they made recently after last year, which was kind of a mess Just wish they'd clean up the pre-flight in terms of line flow. Hate how they're keeping that "IT'S MEEEE" 2 measures behind when it was intended to be sung originally, and how with that they cued the lift-off on "So if you care to find me", instead of "MEEEE", and obviously Alexia still has (and always had) trouble finding a nice flow for that bit due to being instructed to sing "IT'S MEEEE" so late (that's what it sounds like at least)
I disagree with your last paragraph. I always think that a long it's me just doesn't flow as well. I also think it's not necessarily a case of Alexia not finding a nice flow it's that the orchestra has sped up too much since the London production opened, however Alexia and Lucy are a great duo. 💚
@@dearoldshiz Well the thing is, Alexia leaves a very big gap between Glinda's "Let go of me!!" and her "It's me". She's always done this on purpose presumably to hit the short "IT'S MEEE" the crew/MD/whoever's in charge asks for (In this run at least, it used to be sung on the correct intended placement in the song), but the gap creates a very awkward silence, and is not a case of the London orchestra going too fast, which is a common myth. In fact, when you play it side-by-side to this recent Broadway recording (th-cam.com/video/eTxC7O8QVfc/w-d-xo.html), London is just slightly slower than Broadway. Nonetheless Alexia and Lucy are incredible, and Alexia's rendition of Elphaba has significantly raised the bar for the production
@@dearoldshiz Just wish London would let go of the strict "It's meee" placement requirement, just let them do it when it feels natural
I kinda agree, the its me sounds awkward for me personally, a little too short and no specific beat it comes in on. I will say I like this a lot better than that gap she used to have in between the "Elphie!" And the its me
@@wickedfan496 I mean I do see your point, but you've kind of just proven mine the west end orchestra feels faster than Broadway, and when compared to when Alexia was Elphaba the first time round but I think it's also a case of the choreography has changed. Elphaba doesn't actually start rising now until the line "so if you care to find me" instead of the second it's me so she has more time to get set up and everything. I always enjoy some light-hearted debate though! 💚
Hiya! Do you know the exact date of this performance, sounds like the one I saw this month :)
Yes
We the fans are so lucky to have her back! She’s amazing.
“One question haunts and hurts” 😮 💀 ❤️
The drum riff on ‘flying free’ is chilling
I LOVE her growls !!
Big slay!
I feel like this is the most definitive interpretation we’ll ever see if this song. Alexia OWNS it, I don’t make the rules.
We are so spoiled right now!
Alexia absolutely owns this song! It feels so raw when she performs it and I simply just cannot get enough of all the different ways she expresses Elphaba's pain!
Great paring of these two: excellent and powerful singing.
Dang. She is in good voice!! These recent recordings of her are killer.
Something sooooo lush about the last vamp before she takes off. It’s wonderful.
I saw her live! Shes absolutely incredible
I saw her on the 12/7/23 and hearing that final “again” in person is absolutely jaw dropping. I’ve never been more in shock whilst watching a musical. She blew me away. Totally didn’t see it coming.
Yes that 'again' is fuel for us wicked fans!
@@dearoldshiz agreed!
Did she say last time?
She said first time; I just think the microphone didn’t pick it up properly but if you listen closely you can hear first.
This is a great pairing of two very fine singers. You can hear for yourself why the😢 producers put these two together.
July 8 evening?
Not quite
I was at this show too! First time seeing this cast and they blew me away. Was almost thinking a no fly was close due to the late pre flight lines ahhh
Yes I was thinking exactly the same thing. It almost looked like she stepped out and got back in again. I don't know if you noticed this but it looked like the lift went up a few seconds late too. That cast is amazing though, and they're just as good even a few times in as they are the first so if you go again you won't be disappointed.
@@dearoldshiz yes literally!! I was front row so could see really clear and she was definitely struggling ahh bless. And yes definitely planning on going back again to see them, really want to catch lucy.
her ngd is a spiritual experience it’s that good
Wow 🤩 She is a great talent.
OMG… what a talent. That ending was perfect…spooky af. BRAVO.
15 years on and her "And if im flying solo" is still my favourite
We’ve had so many Elphies with long tenures, long breaks, etc. Rachel, Jenny, Alyssa, Jackie, to name a few (many more of course). But I believe Alexia holds the record for the longest interim between contracts-13 years from her final performance in 2010. It is indescribably impressive how she sounds so similar, yet somehow even better, than she did 13 years ago.
The resonance on them bring me down notes it’s just incredible
Woah!!!
she OWNS this song
Not everyone could undertake a role as difficult as this. Lucie Jones is a great singer/actress who is totally up to the challenge. Very enjoyable.
Lucie sounds amazing in this! Thanks so much for posting 😊
This is a great voice! I hadn't ever heard of her before, so it's nice to have her on my radar now.
Definitely sardonyxs voice 🤭🤭🤭
When was this recorded ?🫶🏽💗
This was recorded in May 2023!
is madame morrible in her 20s now
That day we had Natalie Spriggs on as Morrible (1st understudy)
i thought that too 😭😭
her no good deed is absolutely flawless! i was in tears when i saw her, such raw emotion and power behind the whole song, the way she interacts with the audience and uses her eyes is breathtaking. i can't wait to see her again, she's just fantastic to watch! :)
I was never usually over fussed by No Good Deed all these years, but since Alexia’s return I can’t get enough of it! 💚
I want her to bring back the Julia Murney BMD 🥲🥲🥲
Sameeee 🥲🥲
Knowing the London music production they heard it once, went "wow that's great" and told her not to do it again. Honestly the London production is the worst out of all the running productions of this show to date. Not anything to do with their amazing cast, but everything is over blocked and micromanaged down to the broom movements in DG. The show is about individuality and yet the London production seem intent on keeping things exactly the same from performance to performance.
@@AlexHurleyMusic Very true Alex. It's a real shame!
I think she still does it. In the past week I've listened to another recording of her doing it.
4:59 I've heard 'For Good' many times and in many ways, but I've never heard that sound in orchestra before. It's beautiful.
That “again” is amazing
OUT STAN DING!!
