After the incredibly tense 2004 Governor’s Race, the closest governor’s race in United States history, Washington State ushered in numerous election reforms that remedied the mistakes made. The 2024 recount of the almost 2 million votes cast in the August Primary only changed the overall vote total by 2 votes.
