The workshop will explore the contingent and nihilistic nature of contemporary Al l models within contemporary architectural design. Students will explore a design work-flow hinging on the contingent relationship between machine perception, Al as cultural archive, and the simulation of material constraints. Students unique perspective on site documentation will be conflated with disparate cultural artifacts into formal resolutions for buildings.
The final models will express new forms of architectural aesthetics only achievable through an interrelation of detailed sensing of context, the vast aesthetic archive of contemporary Al models, and the material realities of physical production.

This workshop encourages participants to contemplate the images and forms associated with the word 'Brut' in architecture and the meanings behind them. Borrowing visual imagery from various search engines, participants will design the overall picture not expressed in those images and create objects. The attempt is to discover a different role for the forms by placing them in a context different from the original context that the original images possessed.
