Prefer using zoedepth instead of Photoshop a lot more detail!

You can batch convert depth maps using photoshop.

i guess i should add you need to throw the image into aftereffects, and use the depth map to drive a displacement map.

Twinmotion has changed a lot since then anyway, there's no need to mask and composite - just select the background HDRI you like then assign it to the scene. Have you checked it out?

It reflects. But you can still change the color of the dome to the color of whatever sky you're going to use. Blue is good. Or gray.

There are many ways of doing it, especially with an image. The difference here is I used a video. So this tutorial is for those who are looking to use a video, timelapse, hyperlapse, or any background with animation.

Yeah... for video might be a good way (or the only way). By the way I m coming from after effects so this procedure is familiar to me. I wish Twinomotion had an internal easy way to change background

You change the background in Twinmotion by using the dome. It would give you a chroma/greenscreen background. You can then use any graphics or video compositing app to insert a new background once you have the chroma/greenscreen background. In this example I used After Effects.

I used a time-lapse video as a background. It's different. It is not advisable to use a time-lapse video textured dome. Try to be more observant next time and not be too arrogant.

@@vrkonstrukt Sorry about that. Your AE compositing is very nice trick for video post. It is not easy to uv-map a sphere easy way in TW. Just trying to find a good 3d-mapping tutorial. It´s a stupid not to be able to change users own background in TW.

Sounds like an interesting project. Yes, it still would be the same. You are basically compositing your 3d model to your footage - then apply post production to it - to seamlessly blend the 2.

I changed the preset background to a chroma background in Twinmotion. The editing in AFX is extra.

Download the free version of TM. For some reason it only works with the version from their site :-)

Custom materials, settings on the camera and output quality. However, Twinmotion is better suited for quick renderings not for extremely detail scenes., For detail I recommend VRay. Takes longer to render but it beats the others by miles, and you can export different channels.
