    I really don't like the idea of having to drill a hole in the pipe to use this. I could see leaks happening. I guess it has to be this way or has to be custom done otherwise with a piece that is specially designed for this. Instead it would make more sense to me to simply fill up the sink or some container with water and then stick the tubes in and have them suck up the water and filter it.

    I recently bought a house with a system installed by the previous owner and I'm trying to get the system running again. I have a few questions: 1. How does one remove the water lines from the fittings? I don't want to damage either the hose or the fitting it plugs into 2. The black air gap line is improperly installed and too long - it dips beneath the drain saddle. Am I correct in assuming that this will cause big problems? 3. There is a water pump and a 40 PSI pressure switch installed under the sink, which is pumping the green tube. Is this a normal or recommended installation? Can I safely remove it from the loop? The previous owner was a DIY guy and did a lot of things without following directions precisely, so now I'm following up the work that he did and tweaking it to work just right. There's stuff like this all over the house. Thanks for whatever help you can provide for this one!

    • @premierawattsbrand3030
      @premierawattsbrand3030 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, we do apologize for the delay in our reply. See answers to your questions below: Q1. How does one remove the water lines from the fittings? I don't want to damage either the hose or the fitting it plugs into A. To remove a tube from a Quick Connect fitting you should make sure the system is depressurized. Then, depress the collet ring on the fitting and pull the tubing out. Depending on the size of the tube you may use a 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch open ended wrench to depress the collet ring instead of your fingers. If you have difficulties pulling the tube out, you can try pressing both the tube and the collet ring in then pull out the tube while holding the ring down. Q2. The black air gap line is improperly installed and too long - it dips beneath the drain saddle. Am I correct in assuming that this will cause big problems? A. If the system and faucet are connected as designed, having the black tube dip under the drain saddle will eventually cause your air gap on the faucet to leak. Q3. There is a water pump and a 40 PSI pressure switch installed under the sink, which is pumping the green tube. Is this a normal or recommended installation? Can I safely remove it from the loop? A. It sounds like a booster pump was installed on the system to increase the incoming water pressure. This is normal for homes with low incoming water pressure as the system's storage tank may not fill properly and the system could run for longer periods of time. In that situation, the pump may increase the storage tank's fill rate and storage capacity. To know if you can remove the pump/electrical components, you first should make sure that they are not installed in a ZeroWaste configuration. This can be determined by looking that the hot and cold water angle stops under the sink. If you have 2 adapt-a-valves (one on each angle stops) with a Green tube coming from the Cold water and a Red/Black tube leading to your Hot water, then the system is connected in a Zerowaste configuration. However, based on your second question I do not believe it to be installed in a ZeroWaste manner as the ZeroWaste does not use a Drain Saddle but instead returns the Waste water to your hot water lines. If the system is not connected as a ZeroWaste then you may certainly remove the pump, if you wish, as it is not critical to the operation. To remove the other electrical components just make sure that your system has an Automatic Shut Off Valve (ASOV) installed so that the system shuts off like it should. The ASOV is a black block-like object with 4 Quick Connect fittings (2 on each side). Please let us know if you have any further questions or need clarification regarding any the above information. @@premierawattsbrand3030 Thank you so much for the response! I got the system up and running by unplugging the booster pump and allowing the system to just run on city water pressure. I recently bought the 3 stage RO system and purchased a separate drinking faucet. The new one I purchased only allows one line to plug into it. The one that came with the RO system has three, is it possible to use the one i bought with this Watts system? Thanks

    • @premierawattsbrand3030
      @premierawattsbrand3030 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which 3 Stage RO system did you purchase and which RO are you replacing RO Pure or Pure Plus? Whether the faucet is interchangeable or not is dependent on the tubing size of the faucet connection on the system. The faucet of the Premier RO Pure System in this video may have either 3/8" connection or 1/4" connection where the Pure Plus only has a 1/4" connection for dispensing the drinking water. Please refer to the owners manual for tubing size of the purchased 3 stage system. If the system uses a 3/8" tubing and you had the RO Pure, then it may require you to remove an adapter that would have been installed on the Premier Faucet. The Pure Plus would not accommodate a 3/8" connection. I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions! ~Premier

    • @premierawattsbrand3030
      @premierawattsbrand3030 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Maximum distance from the system to the faucet should be no more than 20 (1/4" tube) to 30 (3/8" tube) ft. depending on the size of tubing used to connect the system to the faucet. We have several customers who have installed their systems in such locations successfully. This also depends on your incoming water pressure. If you have low pressure in your home you can install a booster pump to the RO system to increase the tank storage, giving you a higher flow rate from the faucet.

    i seem to be having a problem with my system, why would water be gushing out at a high rate from the blue tube that connects to my storage tank? the tank fills at a rapid rate?

    • @premierawattsbrand3030
      @premierawattsbrand3030 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a few possibilities for the water to be flowing at a high rate like this. First, verify that your filters are installed in the correct order, Red > Yellow > Green > Blue. If this is a new install, verify that your plumbing is correct. On the back of your system, trace the Blue tube between the black ASOV and the System manifold to make sure it is connected to the top port behind the Green Membrane filter and the Red tubing is connected to the port below it. (The top port is closest to the mounting holes on the mounting bracket.) If this is an older install, you may have a bad ASOV and the water is bypassing the filtration system flowing directly into your tank. It is also possible, however unlikely, to have a bad membrane. You can give our Technical Support a call so we can help to troubleshoot the system with you at 1-800-752-5582 option 4.

  • @puncall751

    This is Pun Call's husband, Harold, and I'm not a happy camper. We went downstairs this morning and found water all over our basement on our new laminate flooring. I searched everywhere for the source and all I can determine is, when the water leaked out of the air gap faucet, it ran through the holes in the kitchen floor under the sink where the water lines come up. A "How To" video here says the drain line into the sink drain will plug up with debris from the garbage disposal, and has to be blown out. Nice, huh? What kind of ignoramus designs something like that? And, on my unit, the hole in the faucet is at the back so any water that comes out runs across the counter top. If the hole was in the front, it would run into the sink. So, now, I guess the solution is to turn off the water to the R.O. unit whenever we're not using it. That's a bunch of bullshit. When I had a plumbing and heating business many years ago, I used Watt's regulators and other things, and found them superior in quality. But today, they obviously have a new crop of engineers who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. I'm going to scratch Watts' name off my list. Might as well buy Chinese crap.

This morning, water started spraying out of the hole in the back of the faucet. My husband said, "Why in the hell is there a hole in there anyway?. I'll bet the son of bitch was made in China." He called the number, but of course, being Sunday, your office is closed. Now, he's pissed off and I'll have to put up with him until your office opens and he can get an answer. Thanks a lot, Watts.

    • @premierawattsbrand3030
      @premierawattsbrand3030 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are just three things that could cause this: 1) Make sure the hole you drilled on the drain pipe aligns with the hole on the drain saddle. 2) Make sure the black tubing is as short and straight as possible. 3) Make sure the flow restrictor is in place on the red tubing. The flow restrictor would be in the "Bent" end of the red tubing, If the red tubing is missing a flow restrictor you may call our technical support at 1-800-752-5582 option 4. They can also help to walk you through any troubleshooting on your system to get it functioning properly.

      Hello Kamran, We do apologize for the delay in our reply. To remove a tubing from a Quick Connect fitting, you will press in on the collet ring and pull the tube out. However, it can be difficult to remove the tubing from the faucet fitting as it is recessed in the base. To reach it, you can use a small, open end wrench to press down on the white collet and pull on the red tube. The other option would be to leave the tube as-is and install a 90 degree stem elbow on the system where the red tube should go. The Flow restrictor will function in either place on the tubing.

    I'm a little bit concern about what you write in your manual: "CALIFORNIA PROP 65 WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including 1,3-Butadiene, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm." Could you explain better about it. Is it a real threat, or is a threat under certain circumstances. Is it something that all the reverse osmosis systems, even from your competitors has? I'm using right now a Korean system, similar to yours and I'm thinking to exchange it with your system, but I'd like to clearly understand it.

      Jorge, I want to apologize that we were unable to respond to you sooner. The O-rings are manufactured using the chemical. It is considered to be non-toxic and safe for use with potable water because the 1,3 butadiene is consumed during the manufacturing process of the item; 1,3 butadiene is not expected to be present in the polymers and/or plastics made using 1,3 butadiene. The O-rings are used on the outside of the filter to prevent the system from leaking. About 95% of plumbers use this type of O-ring as they are the most resistant to breakdown. We have our products sent to an independent testing facility who performs strict testing to insure our products are safe for use. California also performs its own independent testing in order for the item even to be listed for sale in the state of California. With Prop 65, we are required to list the chemical of concern that is used in the creation of the product. The primary route of potential human exposure to butadiene is in gaseous form through inhalation. Major sources of butadiene exposure in the ambient air are on-road and off-road vehicles and other combustion sources. Cigarette smoke is the major source of butadiene in indoor air, where smoking occurs. I hope this helps to alleviate your fears regarding our products, however, should you still wish to return the product for a refund we will be happy to assist you. Sincerely, Premier
