The first version is better. It sounds more like it was made on actual hardware and the mixing was better balanced. This one sounds more obviously like a MIDI composition. It's noisy and bloated. The guitar snippet near the end is also just objectively less cool than the first version.

how did you enable 4:3 aspect ratio ?
I'm sure there is a mod that lets you change the aspect ratio somewhere in gamebanana, I don't have it currently tho, sorry.

The footage couldn't be from original hardware since there is sprite rotation going on.
Just as good as the other one. Genuinely love it. The decision to include the flourish in one version and exclude it in the other was pretty tasteful.
