The Zimbabwean Music Festival is an annual celebration of Zimbabwean music and culture. A fun-filled four-day weekend of concerts, workshops, community conversations, a marketplace and more.
Zimfest is the largest annual gathering in North America of students, teachers, performers, and fans of Zimbabwean music.

Anzanga Marimba - Zimfest 2023
Anzanga Marimba Ensemble from Seattle is always a favorite, playing here on the Zimfest 2023 night stage.
Anzanga is celebrating its 36th year as a
performing ensemble.
The group has toured internationally in South Africa, China and Canada and performed extensively throughout the US.
Anzanga Marimba has produced five recordings and will produce a new release this year.
Anzanga means “to our friends” and draws its name from the rich cultural heritage of Africa.

Mudavanhu Magaya in concert here on the Zimfest night stage with friends Jennifer Kyker, Erica Azim and Nathan Beck on hosho. Muda is the son of world-renowned gwenyambira the late Cosmas Magaya. Muda is an expert mbira player and a teacher at Humwe Cultural Arts & Education Center in Zimbabwe and is dedicated to preserving the playing style and tuning of his father.

I used to attend your shows with Zig Zag band when i was very young in Gweru.I vividly remember one show you had in Mkoba stadium one afternoon.From that day i fell in love with Chigiyo music.Emmanuel Nkomo was still alive then with the other guys.You were awesome guys!You never knew how u inspired some of us with your music.I religiously attended most of your shows with Zig Zag band in Gweru back then.I also attended another one by the "new look" Zig Zag band in recent years in Kadoma.Munogona mukoma!The old Zig-Zag band was just something else!
