Paul and Hickok45 are among the greats of the 2A community. In the last year, I met both of them. They were as friendly and personble as expected. R.I.P. Paul.
💯💯
I need something for home defense bad...
What part of the lake shore are doing your searches?
At the main boat ramp, close to where the Dam is at.
That puppy is breaking my heart he was scared and lonely thats why he was yelping like that. Such a cute little pup just because he has a collar on doesnt mean he didnt get dropped off. I cant imagine if someone owns him they couldnt find him he was making a lot noise. Its possible someone dropped him off hoping someone wouls find him and take him home or they just didnt care about the dog and didnt want it. If theres a home around there i would check to see if they own the pup. He to young to be on his own that pup dont have any one to care for him or he wouldnt be out there like that.... I would take him home or found his owner no own he would go home with me... other then my broken heart over that puppy I enjoyed the video I live in east Tennessee Seymour not far from Pigeon Forge Gatlinburg Seveirville and my towm all the same country. I never been to Bluff Tennessee I like checking out the small towns so hopefully I will get that way some day soon..
Can you please get on with IT
Nice video and very good point you’ve made . Our husbandry is not exactly replicating the wild .
I live in asheville about 5 minutes from this place i am a native here born & raised here.growing up my parents took my sister & i there a lot ,,i have many fond memories from there . I never thought about hunting for gems there. Its a very beautiful place when everything is growing,,im so glad you came & filmed there,,good luck on your sesrch 😊
We used to go back in that cave over 30 years ago and made some great memories in there. We would go miles back in it and camp for a few days. Cave dogs were a normal occurrence. They would follow you in and be gone in the morning or you would wake up and they would just be there. That pup will be fine. There are blind fish and crawfish in that stream I remember when they installed that iron gate. They were having problems with people going back in there and partying. Leaving tons of trash and spray-painting on the walls. But the graffiti would stop after about a mile in. We went up there and found it locked and had to abandon the trip. They would unlock it for group trips from ASU. Don't go in there without extra flashlights/batteries. We had the old school flashlights that required bulbs and you needed to have a few of those. Also don't go in there without a hardhat. You can really get hurt on that stone ceiling just standing up. Thanks for the vid. you should go back after some research about some of the places in there to visit. Truly amazing scenes in there. Rooms that have ceilings that are easily 5 stories high.
Blessings friend, from this old homesteader neighbor, in northeast Tennessee. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Very nice super ❤❤❤❤❤
My father used to take us there when I was very young! I didn't really remember it but when he passed I spread some of his ashes way up there on the Trail. It was raining slippery and I wasn't trying to go down to the falls or put the ashes in the water. I didn't get to see the falls part and wasn't with anyone who knew the area so it is good to see the all this.
I noticed that same spot along the road and checked it out a couple winters back. Pretty sure that was calcite on the cliffs. For quartz, calcite and barite I've had some issues telling them apart before, but something that might help is barite is pretty heavy. If you have equal size pieces barite will be almost twice the weight of calcite or quartz. Also barite and calcite aren't very hard. Neither one should be able to scratch glass. Quartz will scratch glass. Going by the weight and harness you can usually narrow down what you have for our area
A homeless camp...really? You were on private property genius. Residents around here are tired of foolish trespassing tourists. Not a good idea bruh.
Nice collection, i can't wait till fall to go back
I’d love to volunteer at the dig site. I’m sure it’s hard to get picked for the project but still it’s a dream for me lol
Yeah me too. I'd be tempted to take something home though lol
All that clay, I imagine you find a few Painted artifacts. Keep an eye out for charred wood 👍🫡🙌
Curious if you found them all in the same place-someone else before you might’ve thought that these were really beautiful as well, and carried them in. I have to get a better look, but I might see some carvings and Bird heads
I had never come across any bird heads or effigies
Very cool -
Nice! 👍
Great, do more!
I plan to. Thank you for watching.
22:19 these artifacts are found all over North Carolina, that is the heart-shaped bird motif. They’re called effigies, I’m located in North Carolina as well. You could check out some of my finds. I teach people how to see the art.
I'm pretty sure the name for that coral favocites, but they're bigger then ones I've seen. Nic on City Rockhounding has found several also. The little cone shaped one is some kind of horn coral.
Oh cool! Thank you
Wow that's awesome!!!
It was!
Salutations, Cool! I stayed on that lake 13 years ago, found some decent rocks myself! Thanks for sharing, Cheers!
Most botanical gardens and parks request that one visit, enjoy that visit, and leave things as you find them. Don't pick plants, flowers, and don't remove natural elements, including rocks, soil, animals of any species (even dead wood without explicit permission). This is literally the first of a very short list one will find on the Asheville Botanical Gardens website. These places, usually nonprofits, operate on tight budgets, often relying on volunteers for labor. Folks who visit and take away items from the environment change that environment, even if only in tiny ways. Imagine the cumulative effect if every visitor took a few moments of their visit. There are myriad places to go to for rock collection, including panning, creeking, and digging. We should all please be respectful and go to them for our rock hounding joys. Respect is key.
I have a nice one but its too big for me cut.
I have been there to see the plants on a couple of occasions. Now I have another reason to check it out!
Wow! Thank you for showiing us what you found! I'll watch more ASAP.. Douglas lake is my favorite place for it's closer..water is high right now so will have to wait abit. Thanks again!
Yep. I too must wait until fall when they lower the lake at Douglas. I've found some beautiful pieces there.
Happy hunting
Calcite is fun
Looks like chalcedony to me
Yeah. I once had someone tell me that it was just Knox Chert, but he acted like he wasn't interested in really confirming it or not. Lol. So I still lean towards chalcedony.
Mites? That freaks me out. Literal mites or just little bugs? Is that a TN thing?
I always thought the little red bugs were mites.
Cool
A baby herk !!! What state are you in?
Nevermind it’s in your @ 🤦🏻♀️
Yeah, Tennessee, it's the place to be 😊
