Youth of Shaw Community Center, located in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC dance and mingle in front the Central Communications store, better known as the “heartbeat of DC”. In 2019, this video was posted on Twitter after a resident of the Shay apartment complex attempted silence the music that has played at this store front for decades. This video of Shaw youth dancing helped to portray the importance of this corner to DC natives and propelled the national known Don't Mute DC movement.
