Loving this bud , keep going 34:59
Cheers pal 🤣👍 appreciate it , hard graft that
Ive spent a few nights there on exercise, horrible area to move through, compared to brecon its lovely 🤮
wow ! French Mystere's like those used by Israel in the 1967 war and an East German (?) 4 x 23-mm SPAA Shilka ...
Hell hole
The tracked vehicle is ZSU-23-4 Shilka anti aircraft system produced by Russia and others from the 60s and in use by both sides in Ukraine
its a brilliant walk
@@Irishmanexplores it really is, that coastline is probably my fave so far
@@Jords_adventures1 from mwnt to tresaith is some of the best coastline you will see
In breach of a sh1t ton of laws there. Mainly sect 4 and 5 of the national security act 23
Maintain the excellent work and continue to attain excellence in all in all your productions
You fools, they are radar targets, used for zeroing auto identification. The targets are French roundals. Why be so stupid.
Nice fat Jemmba boys
Ah ..... like the English sunshine !
Hi Jord, if you are still in the area I recommend here, Dinorwic Quarry. Great video by the way.
Hahaha always bloody finding money 😂
That site is rammed I camped at this site in the late 90s it not changed much still rough and ready.
It's not abandoned and it's still used. Uneducated trespassing
At 1.25 'God knows what that is...' It's the logistic overpack for 4 Milan Anti-Tank missiles a medium range ground launched infantry weapon with a range of approx 2000m. Replaced by NLAW and JAVELIN in the 00s
8:09 The "bullet" is a blank round. No bullet in the nose but just produces the bang/explosion from the rifle.
7:32 The aircraft lined up here are ex-French Air Force Dassault MD.452 Mystère IVA fighter bombers. They still carry the French Air Force markings and serials. After being retired by the French in the early 1980s they they ended up at Spadeadam at training range targets. They are laid out to represent an airfield for aircraft range training purposes.
2:59 Ex-East German Air Force Sukhoi Su-22 Fitter. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and East Germany the old East German Air Force came under the control of the unified Germany. This Sukhoi is a Russian fighter-bomber suppled to the then communist East Germany. Lots of former Soviet/Warsaw Pact equipment ended up on training ranges such as Speadeadam. You do realize that Spadeadam is still an active military training area?
Dassault MD.452 Mystère IVA. French Air Force fighter-bomber. The markings are French Air Force. After retirement in the early 1980s they were stored then supplied to NATO countries such as the UK for target ranges.
16:53 The aircraft are ex-French Air Force Dassault MD.452 Mystère IVA and still carry the French Air Force markings. The large pods are external aircraft fuel tanks. They are from RAF Panavia Tornado aircraft. A lot of people exploring Spadeadam mistake them for missiles or bombs. They are Panavia Tornado aircraft ‘Hindenburger’ 2250 Litre Fuel tanks. The area you are filming is layed out to represent an airfield with dispersed aircraft and equipment as targets.
The aircraft at 7:25 are Lockheed T-33A Shooting Star. They are ex-Belgian Air Force training aircraft. The red stars were painted on them to represent Soviet/Russian aircraft for training range/airfield purposes at Spadeadam.
The aircraft at 0:43 are old retired Dassault MD.452 Mystère IVA. The markings they carry are French air force. The 'target' is the French Air Force markings. They were supplied to the French by the US under the defence agreement. After service they were retired and ended up on the RAF range.
"We've stumbled across an old, abandoned RAF gunnery range! Wait, what's that's that sound .overhead...?"
I wonder what that Russian vehicle is doing in the UK?
11:44 It is a Russian ZSU-23-4 "Shilka" is a lightly armored Soviet self-propelled, radar-guided anti-aircraft weapon system. After the break-up of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact a lot of equipment such as used by East Germany was distributed to NATO for target ranges.
The aircraft at 3:15 is a Sukhoi Su-22 "Fitter", ex-East German Air force. The others are mostly Dassault Mystère IVs, ex-Belgian air force.
Yeah. Spadeadam is very much an active station.
It's still used a an RAF air to ground range and they love free moving targets especially ones in grey hoodie's😉
I don't know where it is but I'd say it's still in use. Some of that spent amo looks to be quite fresh
It's a fuel drop tank
It's not abandoned, it's still used
3:45 I think these are Pitot Tubes for measurement of airspeed.
Awesome mate, wish i lived closer would love to visit that site
Looks cool that Jord
@@SnowdoniaSkies nice one 👌 I’m uploading the new one as we speak 😂👍
