The Loner intro Gary Moore
I want to apologize for the delay setting I used on this video. Too many repeats. Will be doing a remake of this video. This is the intro to the song "The Loner" by Gary Moore. Gary is still one of my favorite guitar players. It was a sad day 14 years ago when he left this earth. His tone and his vibrato were iconic. He played with his heart and soul and you could feel every note he played. He is sadly missed but his legacy will live forever. RIP Gary Moore

Mississippi Queen intro solo Leslie West Mountain
มุมมอง 2.3Kวันที่ผ่านมา
This is the intro solo to Mississippi Queen by Leslie West of Mountain. Do yourself a favor and listen to some of Leslie's live recordings. He was certainly one of the pioneers of Rock and Roll guitar playing. i did misspeak when I said Leslie tried out for Lynyrd Skynyd and lost the job to Steve Gaines. Steve died in the plane crash and was replaced by Randall Hall. My website: www.skipfryeblu...

Slaying it!!!
Man taking the sounds to a Cool dimension, Just what the Doctor ordered Thanx for sharing.
I love the way you play❤❤❤
Your lick in the beginning was very tasty, very melodic. It transitioned into the Allman Brothers tune very nicely. You have some great tone on there as well do you ever talk about your signal chain?
love it
Keep up the great work, some people need to be the center of attention!
Chords. Because I relate notes in a solo to chord tones.
Dang! What are the chords?
Hey Ron, You know I never played the chords but I will figure them out and get back to you.
Are we he sevenths flayed or major?
The arpeggios I am playing are the root the 3rd the fifth and the dominat 7th which is a flated major 7th tone. HOPE THIS HELPS.
Thanks, and sorry about the spelling check
@ No problem bro
I favor the 9th a lot. It sounds nice. I have a G&L S-500 that looks just like your guitar in this video. My guitar is featured in a video I did playing Star Spangled Banner. Thanks Skip!
I will check it out
Enjoyed your rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. That guitar sounds great.
i want that blondie axe!
I have a guitar that looks exactly like that and made by G&L plays so buttery smooth!
@ I have a few G&L Tele's that are great guitars. They are just like buying an old fender.
Killer
Thanks
Backing tracks are absolutely fine for a man in his 70s doing a duo with his wife. Seriously. Sounds like a great gig and I wish you were local to me.
Thanks for the kind words.
He might be crazy, but he's a really good guitar player
Thanks Ed, Hope you are doing well my friend.
Bro you are so professional ❤❤❤
Thanks for the encouraging words
Today’s lesson was thrilling I love it ❤❤❤❤
Thanks
it's Johnny Winter, no S, just like on your pickguard.
Sorry I misspoke.
Blues Experiment changed my life in '68... I wanted to do that... many years later, I did.
That's cool !! His first 3 LP's were so good.
Thank you for this like new sub
My friend if You can listen this song created in Argentina by pappo blues. the style of the song is rock heavy blues. Is amazing!! He created the song at 1973!! th-cam.com/video/gFGES_3lE2U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MsaE_IgpwXn_vC9S
He plays really nice.😀
Love this lesson. I really want to get this chord tone thing down. Been playing many many years and still can’t play chord tones over the changes.
@@RobiRaw It's about repeat repeat and training your ears to hear those chord tones and your muscles to remember the chord arpeggios. Thanks
Thank you so much! Want to see your others guitars!
Thanks, I'll try and keep posting some different ones up.
Sounds bitchin
I am the leader of two bands right now and it sucks when you gat to let someone go. You become friends but business decisions hurt peoples feelings. I also play duo with my wife and they're not the same drama as dealing with 4 or 5 musicians that don't know how to learn their parts. This week presented a very emotional moment where I had to dismiss a drummer that has also been a friend for 15 years. Made for some tearful conversations this weekend. It's hard and not as romantic as people think, beimg in a band. Backing tracks are a viable option, stress reduction for sure.
Been there done that !
Your Jam is smokin!
Thanks for the kind words
Ain't feeling it. Sorry. Way out of time and discordant.
No problem. can't please everybody.
You might want to buy a new battery for your hearing aid . Skips is absolutely smoking this . I'll guarantee you couldn't do better .
When Mississippi Queen hit the air waves,I would beg my dad to let me turn on WGLD in Oak Park IL in his Buick to try and catch it playing. If it came on that old Buick speaker would be taking some abuse. The bass on it was so heavy it didn't take long before he would reach over and turn it down or off.Same deal with Free All Right Now,and Deep Purple Smoke on the Water.
I remember blasting the radio on my 65 GTO when listening to my local R&R station in Muncie Indiana. I put a 15" speaker in the trunk to handle the bass. Good times back then.I bet your dad's Buick was a cool ride.
Yes,it was a 1961 Lasabre land yacht and made you feel safe.
@ Cars were built like tanks back in the day. nothing like the cardboard boxes they make today.
@@skipfryesr.8916 The only down side is when you hit a stationary object there was no give in the car,you hit the dash and stopped.
nobody remembers the keyboard player Steve Knight
I remember him playing on the early LP's with N.D. Smart on drums.I believe Steve played in the Vagrants with Leslie.
That's sweet man thanks 🤘
Thanks for watching and the kind words
Saw Leslie 7 times. Woodstock 69, Denver 70, 71 Boston 74 ×2 reunion. Massive tones. LP jr looked like a belt buckle on tht huge frame. Loved his volume swells, pick harmonix and his slides in bet notes. Stormy Monday 1971 Atlanta Pop Festival. th-cam.com/video/8SbckyXtgUk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=m6xKAEJa5occUCoe
His tone and vibrato was so great. He was a mountain of a man and made that LP jr. look little.
Vos sabes canoso sos crack!!! Viva el rock! Rock🎉
Thanks brother
That guitar is freaking beautiful man. Wow that top is special.
Thanks
That guitar is my dream it’s stunning good omg and the way you played it awesome ❤❤❤
Thank you
Beautiful guitar. Preserve that signature bro!
Thanks, It hardly ever comes out of the case.
Thanks 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
you collect guitars . . . 8^)
At the age of 70, I bought a guitar. I tried to make it sound good. I put in back on the wall. It' looks cool. Much respect now for people who can play those things.
Thanks, If you have time you can play. Hope you take it down from the wall and give it another shot.
We can thank Leslie West for composing the heaviest rock song of all time, in my humble opinion. Still remember when it first hit the air waves and it blew my mind! And it still sounds that heavy today!
Agree 100%
Crack!! Can You make a video about Jhonny winter?? 🎉🎉🎉
I will try and do something by Johnny Winter in the future.😀
Sweet and tasty man,,
Thanks
Steve Gaines died in the plane crash...
You are right I just misspoke myself. I believe Randall Hall ended up taking his place when they reformed the band. Thanks for the correction.
Awesome, If you know what I mean.
Thanks, Good one LOL
Very nice. Your demo over the backing track showed it working as a switch from major over the I to a minor lick over IV, correct? Any good ones for the V?
You are correct. The last note over the 1 chord was the dominant 7th tone of the 1 chord which is in the minor penatonic scale, That lead me into the next riff over the 4 chord. I will have to do a video on the 5 chord. Thanks for listening and your for your comments.
It is pleasure to watch your videos and you are too skilled❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching and for the kind words
Been meaning to comment on your videos… I love your channel! Great seeing you Skip!
