I have gained knowledge and improved my skills by watching others on TH-cam. My goal is to give back, help others along the way dealing with a project or hobby, or even inspire you to get outside. As I continue with this channel, I want these videos to be part educational and part entertainment. I firmly believe that "my way" is not "the way" it is just "a way" of doing things. So take what I do, others do, and you do, and go make something.

Woodturning a Christmas Snowman From a Small Maple Log
My untreated pine wood lasted about 5 years without staining or shou sugi ban technique.but im trying it thjs year because in theory it should help and it looks very pretty when done right.
Let me know how it goes. I have three more to build this Winter.
Great video, thanks!! I have a lot of channels already saved in my Beofeng & I'm getting the cable to use w/Chirp Next. My assumption is I can download current radio configuration into Chirp & edit as I would an Excel spreadsheet? For example, I plan to give specific names to each channel but also would like to renumber/group my preexisting channels. If I change a frequency say from channel 10 to 20 in Chirp, assuming that frequency will show up on Ch 20 on Beofeng when I upload new 'excel sheet' to radio? Thanks!!
You are correct. Upload the radio into Chirp Next - Make your changes - Download to the radio - Done. Very easy. If you have multiple radios that you want programmed the same, save the first updated file then you can copy and paste into other radios. But, you always want to upload the radio into Chirp - then copy/paste from the file - then download to the radio.
Really appreciate your detailed experience with this tent. I picked up a few things for my trip with it in a couple weeks. Thanks.
Thank you. Happy camping. Let me know how your trip went.
Hey, thank you so much for this excellent set-up and review. I just received mine from Amazon, it was $127 for the “compact size bed truck 6’ length“ - for my 2011 Ford Ranger. The reviews are really good, esp. by 3rd gen. Ranger owners. I am a little worried about the rain situation as I am in the PNW and will be driving down to California later this month. This will save me lots of dough is my plan, I just hope I don’t have to set it up too often in the rain. Now I’ll check your six-month review :-)
That extended tarp works great for me. Hope it helps.
that MC black one is mine ...
You got it. Thanks.
Nice video, I am beginning to think I like the Rightline tent myself over some of the others I’ve seen - I’m also looking at the Softtopper too. By the way, your audio mix could be a little louder on future videos. I know sometimes it sounds one way on your computer but something happens on TH-cam after you upload it! 😅 nice review!
Thank you. Not having the "floor" in the Rightline tent was the kicker for me. I can set it up without having to clear the bed of my truck. I will check the audio - but I am not the best at all this technology stuff - I would rather be out camping. lol.
Love mine for my 2020 jeep gladiator good video
Thats an awesome feature! I just tried it out on the desktop and phone app. Gives a whole new perspective on maps. Thanks for sharing.
I love it. And yes - a whole new perspective. Thanks for watching.
He mentions lidar then you blink and he doesn't show you how to access the lidar feature and he is playing with it. That is not good instructions.
Thanks for watching. As the title indicates, the video was about the 3D feature and not layers, overlays, etc. If you are interested in LiDAR, and you should, here is a link that walks you through importing "Custom Layers" to include LiDAR. Once (if) you watch this video you will see why I couldn't spend the time talking about LiDAR and how to bring it in. If you are talking about simply showing where layer options reside within the CalTopo program, that is a very basic feature/understanding that has been covered within the other videos. I do plan to do more videos on CalTopo going forward and one will be for beginners, such as yourself, and the actual program layout. Again, thanks for watching. Thanks for the info you provide for CalTopo.
Thanks for watching.
Highly appreciate the helpful guide! I'm still new to SARTOPO and learning for both recreation and SAR purposes. You're helping more than just me right now.
As always, thanks for watching. If you have any questions please let me know. Glad to help when possible.
Just like in the class this past weekend, you nailed it with this video! Great job in explaining enough for folks to easily utilize these resources. Because I do GIS for a living, I have to remind myself that not everyone is as well informed when it comes to instructing about maps. This is a great video for any outdoor enthusiast!
Thanks for taking the time to attend. Hope to see you again.
Thank you! I plan to make a couple of these this weekend for different spots around the farm.
That’s great. I will be building one more for my wooded area this Fall as well. Enjoy.
if i had a truck instead of a Jeep , i would 100% do something like this ...
I think they make something for a jeep maybe.
@@kyhandcrafted they do, but the thing i like about this is that its up off the ground ...
enjoyed...!! I've seen you sleep in this a few times....really nice set up...!!
I hope more to come!
Thanks for sharing Tracy
Thanks for stopping in Ken.
Our raised bed is giving out too. 5years. We stained it but I think lining it with plastic helps then perforated drains below the soil.
I’ll keep tabs on these. People are reporting 10+ years.
You're makin' it look easy Tracy! Do you have a preferred source for material?
I have a few online stores I search for best price. If sales are offered I jump on them.
Thanks for the vid. Looking forward to future vids on this.
Thanks for watching!
Great info Tracy. Love these kinds of videos.
Thanks Clark
One thing I do when using reference points to align the map is that I use points as far apart as possible, I find it helps with my map alignment accuracy. Thanks for the video!
Great point. Thank you.
Beautiful! I love spalted wood, such interesting patterns.
I love it. I just cut into a maple that’s been outside for 1.5 years. Going to be colorful.
Thanks for taking us along for the paddle
You bet
Looks so cool 2 weeks till we go

Excellent Tracy, thank you!!!
Thanks a bunch. You be safe out there while helping others.
I just found your channel for the CalTopo/LIDAR info...and I see this video; I got the same EXACT radio a couple months ago!! Keep up the good work.
How do you like the radio? Thanks for stopping by the channel.
@@kyhandcrafted It's been a solid radio to learn on and a decent, inexpensive addition to my SHTF gear... Wish I had come across this video sooner though!
Thank you!
Thanks for watching. What radio do you use?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Great vid.
Thanks a bunch.
Great video...!! Very helpful for ole country boys like me that paddle the rivers...!!!
It sure is a handy feature but I know you already use this feature when on the rivers fighting those gators. LOL
Great feature I never knew about! This opens up all kinds of possibilities! Thank you and looking forward to the next video
Thanks for watching!
Great Thanks!
You bet!
How do you like it I just got mine
Love it. Wished I had purchased one sooner. Enjoy!
Lovely finished piece. Hope you don’t mind me copying your pattern. Yours turned out better 👍 Thanks for the video.
Post a pic if you want. Love viewing others work. Looks like you turn beautiful pieces.
@@kyhandcrafted thanks
Would love to learn how to bring in the extra data from other sources. Thanks good video
I’m working on that video now. Be sure and subscribe to not miss it. Thanks for watching.
Nice bowl! Thanks for some commentary but not blathering on throughout the entire video. 👍
Thanks for watching.
Awesome video! When will you be releasing the next video that shows how to navigate the Custom Source in order to pull in the LiDar base layer? Appreciate what you are doing!
Probably in the next couple weeks. Thanks for watching.
After watching hundreds of turning videos of people acting like tear outs dont happen, its nice to see someone address the tear outs. I use cheap superglue on my own. Fantastic work bud. Earned a subscribe from me
Thanks for watching. Maybe others are more skilled, but I deal with it as it comes. Appreciate the following.
And here I was geo referencing all of my PDF's in QGIS first. Thanks for this!
Hope it helps. I love this feature of CalTopo
Nice Piece, thanks for sharing. Full View and Like 👍
Thanks for watching.
That’s a very nice piece.
Thank you. I was surprised how good this poplar turned out.
another beautiful transformation
Thanks. The poplar wood surprised me. Didn’t think it would show that much.
