Centurion commands 80 men
Ancient Samurai = Warrior protect the Emperor Modern Samurai = Restaurant waitress. 侍
Samurai didn’t have tattoo they would never do that. Only Famous Japanese criminal gang members and leaders did. Don’t upload nonsense and misrepresent Samurai !
Them guys will fk you up real good
Sadly many oft these pictures are not actually real samurai and more like modern reenactment and posing for a photo
Real last samurai. 乃木 希典 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nogi_Maresuke

It's cool how the farmers fought back and destroyed them using farming tools.
You have an Hollywood version of the samurai in your head.
@@23Lgirl nope. Samurai were massacred by farmers
@@ruffhausmalinois You don't know the real history of Japan.
@@23Lgirl I know all about it. The Samurai were dismantled by a gnarly army.... and slaughtered by ninjas on the regular reward the later part of their class reign. Protectors of wealthy Japs who owned vast land. Ultimately defeated due to their evil ways.
That woman would peel the skin from your back & not lose a minute of sleep.. 😮

these look amazing.
Were there female samurai?
Yes, female samurai were common. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onna-musha
"Were there female samurai?" == In a defensive battle. They were trained to protect the family.
@@Pintsizedhistory-hr9cj No they where not common.
I thought samurai weren’t supposed to have tattoos.
Muslims not samurai
@@NallePu83 Samurai thought that having tattoos were barbaric practice and were to self respected not to have tattoo
Fake!
They aren't you.
They aren’t samurai we’re only removed as a social class in I believe late 1800s all be it many are colourised photos that were previously black and white but they are all very much real

Looking at this pictures brings a certain heaviness to me and a feeling of spooky/strange, like something isn't quite right.
Suffered the same fate as the Templar Knights. Betrayed by their own people and political corruption.
Photographs from this period take time to take. It's hard to smile.
멋지다!
How come if their armpit itchy and the're use that armor
then it ant gettin itched
The real character of Tom Cruise in the Last Samurai was french
À bon . Ça veu dire que les américains toujours traichent les vérités c est ça?!!
Yes. Jules Brunet I believe
I didn't know that. Thanks 👌🏾
@@JayNomad He was never a samurai.
@@thequeenmidas He was not a real samurai.
the thing is, this is all heritage armor even when these pictures were taken, even the samurai at the time wore very little armor
In duels, sure. But in battle, any samurai with armour would wear it, as samurai armour is great at stopping arrows.
Yes you're right but we're talking about the Bakumatsu and Seinan War, it was mostly firearms and very little armor, samurai armor can't stop 19th century bullets even a little so it just weighs you down
There wasn’t much need for armor during the Edo period. There were low level conflicts and some peasant revolts, but Japan was largely peaceful and orderly during that period. The Tokugawa bakufu brought much needed stability after literally hundreds of years of war. Crime was dealt with swiftly and harshly, and any signs of revolt or disloyalty by a han could result in their lord being ordered to commit seppuku, the han being abolished and their land being confiscated and taken over by the bakufu or another clan.
徳川幕府の平和が、260年も続き…上級武士は甲冑の着方を忘れてたそうです。
you skipped a whole bunch of ranks
You said that impalement was the worst. First, why being burried alive is not equal, also the bull and eventually all of them ? Btw: you didn't mention ling chi, the death of 1000 cuts. Regards !
6:21 He must have been giving someone lip 🪓
Look 👆 Elephant!!🐘
You forgot some ranks here, at least the decurio. As the name tells, he commands 10 men.
Long live samurai 1185/ 1868.
Yes
Wow, that is a very long legacy.. long live Japan! Rewatch The Last Samurai for 20th time.. Those warriors were brave
Sincerly also the beginning had a begining what was it that got fused that it got created just before that era? Or a while before?
Maybe we need to being these back. People have gone mental and all you have to do, is put the news on for 10 minutes to see for yourself. I don't buy what the media tries to sell me, but there's no denying, that the consequences handed out for crimes in the modern world, are laughable and hardly worth taking seriously. Bring this stuff back, put it on pay-per-view and watch things change.
Having to watch the talk show "Ellen" non stop with no way to end it yourself. A slow torturous death.
In London I saw the very block upon which many an Englishman lost their heads. Crucifixion must be the very worst.
Funny how they left out Quartering.
OMG those poor elephants, they were trained to be killers. I had read that the job of executioner was past down from father to son in some countries
Lingchi - Death by a Thousand Cuts (literally} a Chinese method of execution that existed as late as the twentieth century.
Eaten alive by a bear.
Beheading still goes on in the Middle East and lets not forget they use stoning...especially women. Utterly savage.
My vote for the worst one goes to the bull.
Lay them down on a colony fire ants whippy
Europeans back then and some now which are called white ppl are pure evil!
Was I just not paying attention, or did y'all completely overlook milk & honey?🤔
It pisses me off to see more likes than subs. Idk why. Just seems disrespectful to me. Channels survive primarily due to how many subs u have, unless I'm mistaken. Takes no effort at all to sub. Literally one fkn button. I mean, these cock smokers had the capacity to hit the like button, but miss the sub? Y'all put a lot of effort into this shit, and I am truly grateful for all of your efforts. Only a couple ways to show that appreciation. So why not sub while they're looking at It? Doesn't make much sense to me. Aside from just being a shitty person. Unfortunately, that list grows exponentially every year. Hell, everyday really. Idfk. It just pisses me off. Thank You for all u do. This family is truly grateful.
"promosm" 😪
The authorities were as evil as the people they executed maybe even moreso.
Wait I thought executioners were like celebrities back then?
They were all in the 20th century
Because in the past dictators weren't called dictators, they were called "king" or "monarch" 😂

I think hanging is in there as is drawing and quartering.
Some of it has been covered by other series. It is well-told, and in better detail. I especially like the explanation of crucifixion.
