This movie would probably never win an Oscar…who cares. Can’t we just enjoy a feel good movie that unnecessarily needs a blowhard critique? It’s a feel-good movie. Given what’s going on in the world, movies like these are like GOOD, effective therapy, very much appreciated.
Yeah, I’ll say it still tugs on the ol heartstrings but some of it was eye-rolling sappy if I remember correctly. That one Titanic shot though was extremely out of place, you gotta admit! Not good. Not bad. A “C” isn’t bad though, 75 percent. Better than rotten tomatoes 👍
Great that you enjoyed it. I may see it at home but, I’m not in a rush to watch it.

Yeah from the trailer it didn’t seem like a movie I’d be interested in. Most reviewers like yourself are saying it’s ok and passable. Haven’t really heard anyone say it’s great.

I was going to see it because of all the funny memes people are making. (the scene where Kong uses a smaller Kong to attack other big apes). But I managed to control myself. The Jack Sparrow way it was! Thank God I didn't went to the theatre. This film would've bored me to death. They should just make a 20-25 minute short film if they can't come up with a decent story. Just 25 minute of big monsters going crazy. The host is awesome.
Agreed, we only get glimpses of Godzilla for most of the movie. The smaller Kong as a weapon was pretty comical, but I thought he surely died after that. Got a good beating. Poor little bugger. But he just kept on going. The fights are all short lived and intercut with a bunch of the human story. It’ll be popular but largely underwhelming. Thanks for watching!
Why was it disappointing? Was it because there was no non binary bipoc stunning and brave characters???? Dont listen to this beta the movie delivered what it was suppose to which was a Mega Monster Brawl. This guy makes his wifes boyfriend breakfast every morning then does his laundey

Shame you didn't enjoy it much, but I really enjoyed it. I've seen it twice at this point, and even with its flaws - I think it delivers the funnest time I've had with a film in a while. So cartoonish, and goofy... but so much fun I can't hate on it. Great Review!
Yeah, I can see your point. Even going back to the Showa Era Godzilla movies out of Japan, they get ridiculously cheesy, but that’s part of the fun. When I saw the suplex and other wrestling moves, I had to laugh, but looking back at it now, it’s probably an homage to the humanesque qualities of Godzilla in the original movies with people in suits fighting over a miniature set. It def sounds like I enjoyed the movie more than most especially with the titans battle and fight sequence 😂 I would have def tuned out if they had fist bumped I do agree about the lore of hollow earth it slowed the movie down a lot great review man

Looks fun! Didn’t know about this movie. I’ll have to seek it out. That kid, Gabriel LaBelle, was really impressive in The Fabelmans
They tried to make a woke movie of Danny Vendramini neanderthal predation theory and failed. Neanderthals aren't like us, they are carnivores primates that evolved in ice age Europe and became apex predators not human looking at all.
Haven't seen the movie yet. Just a question based on the trailer. I noticed you said the word "friendship". I noticed in the trailer there fast cuts of the two face-to-face very closely and also a cut of them playing handsies. Is there hints that this may be more of a romantic type of relationship? Doesn't matter either way but was just curious. I'm excited to see this movie (whenever it releases in the NA, that is).
At first it gave me that impression as well, but in the end I think it was more about friendship or companionship. When they’re face to face, it’s probably when the robot is stuck at the beach and dog has to leave him. Looks like it’s getting a May 31 release date. Taking a while.

Yeah Blumhouse used to put out good stuff if my memory serves me well. Now I might have to start avoiding them or at least lower my expectations.

Yeah a c letter grade. That’s what I’ve been hearing just average scores. Seems like that’s the norm for Netflix movies. Rarely do I hear about many great movies on there.

Yeah, I didn't realize it until a little into it that the characters hadn't spoken yet, but still pretty captivating. Comparing this to The Boy and the Heron is a difficult task for the academy, but gotta say, I felt a lot more by the end of this. (Prob cuz a dog was involved)

I fully, wholeheartedly disagree with this reviewer that it’s not worth seeing in theaters! I have AMC’s movie pass deal, and I randomly picked this movie to watch last night , and was completely captivated. Some might call it a bit of a slow burn, but I think that’s what I found captivating. It’s like, through the setting (Scotland, but looks kinda like rugged Greenland imo), blocking, and sound design, they somehow bottled up that feeling of understated-yet-electric alertness that happened when you’re in the woods at dusk, alone, and hear a noise. Or hell, even when you hear a noise at the edge of the yard while taking the dog out at 3am lol. This movie is, imho, a subtly riveting depiction of the more nuanced aspects of the primal survival drive that threads through all of humanoid-kind, from way back then through modern day.
If I absolutely had to compare it to something, in pacing and tone, I MIGHT say Upstream Color. But overall, it’s a very unique and refreshing film, imo.

This was the era of World Class Championship Wrestling. This was the territory of Fritz Von Erich and his sons. This was the era of Harley Race, Ric Flair, Bruiser Brody, Jerry Lawler, Kamala, Tommy Rich, The Missing Link and The Fabulous Freebirds. Rest in Peace Texas Tornado. The Iron Claw film shows the hardships and tragedies of the Von Erich family. The film needed two more music montages in the first 45 minutes of the movie since the story dragged at the beginning, but it then picked up for the rest of the film. The only acting weak link in the film came from the actor who portrayed Ric Flair who was atrocious in the role. This is during the era of World Class Championship Wrestling. This is the territory of Fritz Von Erich and his sons. This is the era of Harley Race, Ric Flair, Bruiser Brody, Jerry Lawler, Kamala, The Missing Link and The Fabulous Freebirds. Rest in Peace Texas Tornado. The Iron Claw film shows the hardships and tragedies of the Von Erich family.

Great job on summing it up without spoiling! I watched the movie and the rating on my country for the movie is everyone. I disagree that this is not for children, the theme is family and it is quiet fantastical. There is an early short scene that maybe a bit shocking but I don't remember anything inappropriate. The war only mentioned in brief and not shown.

Glad you enjoyed it. I did enjoy the acting and Christmas music. There was some laughs. Characters are a little hard to get into from my end. Wasn’t a fan of the ending.
