Open carry is stupid. It just calls attention to you. Attention you don’t want. Open carry should require a proper holster that secures the weapon properly. Sticking out of a pocket is a recipe for disaster.

I can understand why the officer would be defensive and ready to respond, but it's not necessary for him to draw his pistol out of the holster. This is just another instance where escalation isn't necessary.
