A few Biblical scholars believe "and I do to accept this belief" that the treasure that was brought to be presented to Yeshua Hamichiach and His parents was set aside by the prophet Daniel for he was over the Maggie and he taught them to look for this star and gave them instruction on what they were to do when it came into view and this knowledge was handed down through the generations of the Maggie so the ones in charge at the time and date the star appeared they knew what to do Daniel knew Yeshua's parents would need money "treasure" to be able to afford the travel to flee to Egypt to raise our Lord up until that day came when Herod would die and they could return back the Jerusalem area. Actually.. The Greek word for Magi, "magos," comes from the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Bible. It was used both as a general word for the Babylonians and specifically for their magicians. Also, astrology was a big deal for them (Is.47:13) so that by 500 B.C. the Babylonians had calculated almost precisely the length of the solar year. Thus, the Daniel 9 prophecy of 483 years until the coming of the Messiah (26 AD) was a big deal to them because He would be given sovereignty over all nations (Dan.7:13-14). That's why they were looking for a sign.. and following a star for His birth in ~4 BC.
