    I thought about using JB Extreme, not really into the header tape (SOAK IN WATER FIRST). I used that on my motorcycle headers and there is a trick to that tape, SOAK IN WATER FIRST. Do you suggest extreme heat past without the header wrap, or just use what you used and use the header wrap??? You DO make it all look easy but I know nothing is that easy. TY New SUB here.

    i no why you drilled it but don't understand why u had to thread it since u wasn't going o stitch it back?? could u please enlighten me, unless its for the jb weld to grip better in the threads?.. ill be tiring this on my 3.0 mercruiser this summer? thank u

      I drilled and tapped it so the JB Weld would have something to bite into rather then a smooth hole.

    Man, thanks for these 2 videos. I also have a 99 with cracks in the same top two places. Just the other way around. I wanted to get them welded, but watched a few videos on this process. Then, I saw these two. So, thanks. What's funny is I didn't even know there were cracks. I was doing a cat, front pipe, exhaust manifold, cps, and injectors replacement. Got everything cleaned and ready for reinstalling and noticed it. It'd been there for a while, too. Probably there when I bought it. I just didn't notice. But, again, very helpful. Made a subscriber here, bud. Keep it up!

    • @theprojectchannel4434
      @theprojectchannel4434 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The brass will become brittle over time between rounds of reloading and resizing. This process softens the brass and makes it malleable again, it keeps neck tension and sizing more consistent.

      @@theprojectchannel4434 Wow!!! Awesome, I will be checking out my block because I have had overheating issues and looking at doing a second head gasket and most likely another head too. When I put a thermostat in, it would almost always overheat eventually on long drives, when I take it out, it drives ok at least around town. I am wondering if there is cracks in the block so if the water is flowing straight through without the thermostat, maybe it wouldn't escape as fast as if the thermostat is there and closes causing the block to expand, then leaks happen. I could never figure it out, nobody had answers to what they considered STUPID from a woman and her Jeep. I sure wish I would have left the thermostat out, major job again. EFFF TY, I will take a much harder look for cracks this time. By the way, I looked into JB extreme heat paste for $12 a jar, over Belzona INSANE at $700 kit. ------- www.jbweld.com/product/j-b-extremeheat?srsltid=AfmBOooFFUi6pXfXsnXaCfyJgZepsrtmgG0IHiOwqeF829lw68SxNrF5a0E Thanks Jeep On!!!

    338 lapua, hunting season???? Hunting what???

    • @theprojectchannel4434
      @theprojectchannel4434 ปีที่แล้ว

      Elk mainly, longer range, slightly more energy than 338 win. and better down range numbers with better bc's that caliber offers.

    • @backwoodscharlie8483
      @backwoodscharlie8483 ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Project Channel 800 yd is way too far to be hunting elk, with any caliber. That flight time is so long by the time you squeeze the trigger that elk could move and you could end up with a severely injured elk and never track him at that distance. Unless you're = Chris Kyle as a sniper I would think of hunting at closer ranges.

    • @xd.5.45
      @xd.5.45 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@backwoodscharlie8483 bro what is wrong with you, in my country we hunt bears regularly at over 600 meters because of the danger and that with smaller calibers and you say that at 800 yards with 338 lapua is bad?

    my dad jb welded a toyota 22r engine block bact together back in the late 1980s that had actually threw a rod anyways it worked so well he packed us kids all up and drove clear to california and took us all around california and nevada and we lived there for a year and then we moved back to washington and he sold the car running strong with no issues (except cosmetic ones) So jb weld is the holy grail of jimmy rigging as long as teh surface areas have been degreased/cleaned its gucci

    • @theprojectchannel4434
      @theprojectchannel4434 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure what size and the specifics of the drill bit were but, I would match the drill bit size to the tap you would use. The tap would correspond in size the the bolt you want to use. I used a 1/4-20 bolt and tap. I think it is a number 1 size drill bit or anything between 0.1960" and 0.2070" in size for drill bit. Any high quality metal drill bit will work just fine use some sort of cutting oil and low speed.

    I repaired a crack in a Yale fork truck cylinder head many years ago with JB Weld. Yes it works very well. BTW the “ freeze plugs “ don’t really exist! They are holes to blow out the sand after the block or head were cast. You’d be amazed how many people don’t know this.
