A year or two before he passed, Benard Ighner blessed my family with the most amazing phone call, I was an ordained Unity minister with a church in Detroit and I based my Sunday talk this one week on "Everything Must Change" and as was our practice I sent a check for $250 to Benard, through his agent as I recall for I did not know the man at the time but wanted to say thank you from our church to him for the inspiration of his song. So months go by, and I'm home with my family one day when the phone rings and I answered it and there is this deep lovely bass baritone voice introducing himself "My name is Benard Ighner and I just received a check from you Reverend Considine.... I am not a churchgoer but I always thought that churches wanted the money to go the other way around,-- churches don't give money to people, people give money to people!!" HaHa.... cracked me up. And then I explained our practice. We spoke for over an hour that day. He wanted to speak with my then wife and then Benard even spoke with my little two year old daughter!! What a sweet sweet man. And then he told me that he works and writes for half the year and then goes into his house and doesn't come out for months as he writes music. He suggested we'd never talk again, and that turned out to be the case. I was saddened to hear of his passing and so grateful for the chance to have met him and had those wonderful conversations. I send my love and prayers for comfort to his family and friends. I know he is loved in the Great Beyond.

I've always loved this song. His voice is so soothing. This is my first time listening to Bernard Ighner. I guess I had been under a rock. At 71 years of age, I had never heard of him. I happened to be watching a series on paramount plus (Recipes for Love & Murder) when this song , everything must change was playing in one of the episodes. I had listened to other artists renditions, but never Bernard Ighner. I was moved to tears😢😢😢 R.I.P.

A música é ótima! Tanto é ótima que tenho o disco até hoje em casa. De tanto ouvir o disco, o transformei em relíquia. O engraçado de tudo é que a minha família vivia reclamando do som, da voz do Ed Motta e tal, na época que comprei o disco, eu ouvia direto, horas ininterruptas ouvindo o segundão do Ed todo dia em casa! Convenhamos: hoje em dia eu acho engraçado, mas foi uma das fases mais chatas da minha adolescência kkkkkk Em casa, o meu Pai era um dos que mais se queixava de eu ficar ouvindo esse disco o dia inteiro! Na época eu morava num apartamento. De tanto ouvir o disco, até um vizinho que eu tive reclamou! Bom, tudo bem ele estar incomodado com o volume alto do som. Quanto a isso ele estava certo... Agora o dito cujo do (felizmente) meu ex-vizinho errou ( e errou feio demais ) quando me xingou de vagabundo e de viado! Precisava o cara apelar pra baixaria?? Claro que eu não gostei nada! Na época eu era um adolescente bem pilhado! Se alguém me tirasse do sério, eu ficava fulo da vida, igual como foi com esse ex-vizinho! Isso aconteceu há mais ou menos uns 32 anos! Tempão já. Ainda bem que eu não ouvi o cara me ofendendo, mas quando a minha Mãe (IN MEMORIAN) me contou, ela falava "Não abaixe o som, filho! O vizinho reclamou e ainda te xingou" Eu entendo que a minha saudosa Mãezinha fez isso tomando as minhas dores, mas eu também não quis deixar barato, eu, da janela do meu quarto, quis enfrentar o cara, e o "educado" ex-vizinho nem sequer apareceu pra gente acertar as contas! Fiquei tão puto da vida com o cara que, antes de sair da janela, xinguei ele de covarde! ... Que a verdade seja dita: nunca vi mais gordo o vizinho que me ofendeu por causa do volume do disco! Na época eu morava no primeiro andar, já o vizinho "de bons modos" morava no segundo ou terceiro, acho eu. Passados 32 anos, vai saber se o dito cujo do ex-vizinho ainda tá vivo. Também confesso que errei de ficar ouvindo esse disco num volume muito alto, isso era coisa da minha adolescência, ou como queiram, "aborrecência". Faz anos que não escuto mais esse disco. O segundo disco do Ed é bom, mas de tanto ouví-lo, resolvi parar e transformá-lo em relíquia

So that looks to be saxophone player Marc Russo who in 1982 he hooked up with the legendary Tower of Power. During his stay with "Tower", he also toured and recorded extensively with Huey Lewis and the News. then with Kenny Loggin's Live At The Redwoods in Santa Cruz the Doobie Brothers. He has done numerous recordings with many of the world's top stars, including Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston, and most recently Steve Winwood In 1982. This is some pretty good stuff Thank You for sharing.
