Next Level Performance Consulting is a customized, integrative health and fitness experience that empowers high achieving men and women to prioritize their health, healing and mindset to create alignment between their habits and goals.
The Next Level mantra is "Progress Always''.
Why is the 4th Star broken? Firstly, the four stars are representative of Mycal’s military roots and service to others before self. The highest rank one can achieve in military service is symbolized by 4 stars. The Next Level stars also represent what we’re trying to achieve: our highest and best self. Mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and of course physically. The 4th star is incomplete because we will forever be a work in progress.

Next Level Clean & Jerk Workshop w/ Coach Joe
Today's workshop focused on teaching the clean and split jerk techniques, emphasizing proper form, body positioning, and the execution of each movement. Participants observed a demonstration by Maddie Rogers, an Olympic weightlifter, to understand the mechanics involved.
Key Points of Performance
1. The Clean:
- Setup:
Barbell should be tight to the body, in contact with the shins.
Shoulders positioned over the bar, chest up, eyes forward.
Engage maximum tension throughout the body.
- First Pull:
•Drive through the legs while keeping shoulders over the bar.
Pull the barbell slowly to just above the knees.
Second Pull (Triple Extension):
•Hips fire forward as the barbell is pulled close to the hips.
Achieve full extension through ankles, knees, and hips.
Catch:
•Pull down and under the bar with quick elbows, maintaining a vertical torso.
•Front squat to stand up with the barbell in the front rack position.
2. The Split Jerk:
- Dip:
Initiate a quick dip to create momentum, keeping the torso upright.
- Drive:
Use leg power to explode upward while simultaneously pressing the bar overhead.
- Catch:
Split the legs to catch the barbell in a stable position, ensuring feet are aligned for balance.
Finish tall, recovering the feet to the starting position before lowering the barbell.
Key Techniques to Remember
• Maintain a straight bar path throughout the lifts.
• Focus on fast elbows during the clean and quick transitions during the jerk.
• Use leg drive effectively to enhance power and control.
• Always practice in stages, focusing on one key point at a time for effective learning.
• Encourage explosive movements while maintaining control; momentum is key to successful lifts.
Today we worked through hands-on practice with step-by-step guidance, reinforcing the importance of technique, body mechanics, and the integration of strength and explosiveness in Olympic lifting. Participants were encouraged to continue refining their movements for better performance in future lifts.

Aawe!
I need that music... Great convo!
100% When Steve drops a release date, we'll update you!
Pretty sad if thats what you are thinking, should be thinking of the good times we all have them
😭😢😢😢😂😂😂😅😅
Thank you very much for this talk.!!!!!!!
I don't know who you're working with but most of the servers that I've been introduced to are not what you would call passionate about what they're doing most people are demanding tips now for doing absolutely nothing I always go out of my way and tip 20 to 30% of my bill when the person has done their job and done it well and done it with a good attitude toward me
I believe that the check should include everything... cost of food, service, business overhead, etc., and if everything has been OK, costumer should pay that exact amount. If the waiter has done something extra, not out of his initiative but required by you, then, and only then you should tip him.
Yeah, let's let's continue to have the public decide everyone's pay rate to create income risk to support themselves. genius
High temperature and valet parkers and that's it. And I never use valet parking so I don't have to tip them really. 🤣
I'm at Palm springs right now enjoying some golfing with a friend of mine. I'm not a wealthy person and have never golfed a really expensive golf course. But when I got to the end of this one a guy comes up from the clubhouse and starts wiping off my clubs and everything and it turns out I'm supposed to tip him. For me it's the exact same thing as giving money to the guy that washes your windshield in New York when you come to a traffic light. It's insulting.
Naw. We should end it completely.
NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! We don't need to do ANYTHING else the European way. Every time we have it has ended in it being worse for all of us.
That's stupid. You shouldn't be racist. Judge an idea by the merits, not its origins. Sometimes, Europe does it right. Granted, it's like 50/50, but think about the idea before you outright dismiss it. And in this case, Europe def has it right. Tipping is optional. Unlike the us.
@@randominternetguy3537 EU does something's better but the tip at a restaurant should stay
@@randominternetguy3537if you think this then you wouldn't mind paying the 10-15 more dollars for a plate that will undoubtedly go up in price everywhere no tipping is standard. And expect the server to do the bare minimum.
@@lunavyz901Yes. Eating out is a luxury and it should be priced as such.

Great convo gents. You are both accurate thinkers on the right trajectory. Keep crushing!
Thank you brother! Let me know when we can hop on and crush a show ASAP!! I'm always grateful for your presence and guidance.
Thank you both for all the nuggets in here. Reiterating the “ who you surround yourself with matters” the “mentor” talk especially, blows my mind to think about how mentorship could be relationships built and not always a required payed service, I needed to hear that. Now it’s just finding those connections. Also, getting to know my coach a little more by hearing his story in more depth than 90s reels. Thank you 🙏🏼
So good! Thank you for your insight and we'll continue to drive value and hit another one down the road for sure.
