Shohei Ohtani 50/50 home run ball becomes most expensive baseball in MLB history
Bidding is still underway this Tuesday night at Goldin, but Shohei Ohtani's 50th home run ball has officially eclipsed the $3.05 million mark set by Mark McGwire's 70th home run ball, sold in 1999.
With Ohtani's 50th home run, he became the first player in Major League Baseball history to record 50 home runs and 50 steals in the same season.
Darren Rovell and Will Stern break down why Ohtani generated the perfect storm to break the record.

ROFL imagine paying thousands of dollars for a cardboard rectangle of a diddler that likes Diddy parties. AHAHAHAHA
The "chase pack" also comes in the Topps Now cardboard package. You open the cardboard package to find the pack or base card(s)
I got 3 blue packs. I want to sell them but at the same time i have a feeling the triple auto could be there.
Haha people are weird
Oakland ruined itself , now they have nothing left
Sad to see Oakland lose all there sports team
JSA is a bad TPA, just look at all the angry customers. There’s a reason that they are selling because they are not the leader. Every TPA makes mistakes and are human. JSA use to be good but currently they have big issues just like all of the TPA’s. They charge too much for authentication and they do make big errors. I don’t trust them but they do have a purpose in the autograph hobby but I just wish they would have better authenticators and not be all about profits. I will only purchase autographs by sports card companies or I will get the autograph in person.
that’s so sad i hope i never have to experience that i feel so bad for oakland fans this was so sad to watch
I'm a giants fan but I'm going to miss the A's so my history behind it
Great interview. The artwork on these is incredible. My favorite is Chuck Foreman -- The Spin Doctor. So many great covers.
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked that one - Chuck was great to work with and the artwork was a blast to make!
Ture sports men.
Hurts all the way from LA and Dodger Fan...
I saw more Twins games at the Oakland Coliseum than at the Metrodome. What a great stadium to enjoy a weekend day game.
My family always went to just their July 4th fireworks night game. At this year's, a group of kids decked in A's and Angel's gear were trying to get us to do the wave, only my section and a few people in others caught on, but it made a wonderful little memory. I wonder how they're doing now and hope their families will see many A's games in the future and spread joy like they did that day!
People would rather spend millions on the ball then donate 1G to children hospital, sad...
This sucks no more Oakland A’s😢the owners should have sold the team 😮or MLB should have just gave them a new team like NFL did with the browns this is BS.
this isn’t even an argument unless he’s trying to say it was technically in his possession because it was on his table? I don’t see a single moment when he had possession
I believe the kid, but there’s no way he can prove it.
Black shirt guy had the ball. Not red shirt
Why?
they are moving to a different city because oakland is a crap hole thabks to kamala
"I have dirt" lmao
Respect ✊️
Players will always want more money and more fame than small towns can give them 😅😭😂😊
When they said Ohtani should not be MVP, they woke the sleeping giant, poked the bear, grabbed the tiger by the tail, played with fire, opened Pandora's box, bit off more than they could chew, walked into the lion's den, shot themself in the foot, stole John Wick's car and killed his dog, stepped on Elvis's blue suede shoes, put a hit on Vito Corleone, lit the fuse, said hello to Tony Montana's little friend, drank the Kool-aid, unleashed the Kraken, wrote a check they could not cash, crossed the Rubicon, told Tommy Devito to go home and get his shinebox, leaped before looking, painted themself into a corner, tried to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, called Marty McFly a chicken, rocked the boat, stepped on a crack, pissed off Bruce Banner, did not stay in their lane and know their role, assassinated Archduke Ferdinand, ate the poison apple, told Fonzie he was wrong, had a plan but was punched in the mouth by Mike Tyson, activated Murphy’s Law upon themselves, captained the Exxon Valdez, touched a nerve, messed with the wife of a jealous man, jumped out of the frying pan into the fire, checked into the Hotel California, counted their chickens before they hatched, put their foot in their mouth, brought a knife to a gunfight, missed the boat, was caught with their pants down, ran into a brick wall, let the dogs out, bombed Pearl Harbor, broke a mirror, walked under a ladder, crossed paths with a black cat, dug their own grave, barked up the wrong tree, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, did not look both ways before crossing the street, looked a gift horse in the mouth, stirred up a hornet's nest, called the kettle black, was struck by lightning, bit the hand that feeds them, dropped a bar of soap in a men's prison shower, brought cannabis to Russia in luggage, screwed the pooch, made it completely FUGAZI and FUBAR, went on a fool’s errand, let the fox in the henhouse, built castles out of sand, ran with scissors, licked a frozen pole, put themselves in harm’s way, judged a book by its cover, was blinded by the light, put all their eggs in one basket, took the blue pill, effed around and found out, cried over spilt milk, got a taste of their own medicine, gave up their day job, went on a wild goose chase, smoked at a gas station, kicked against the goads, played in traffic, ran with the bulls, stepped on a rake, texted while drinking and driving, tempted fate, pissed in their own pool, threw caution to the wind, painted a bullseye on their back, slipped on a banana peel, dropped the ball, stirred the pot, crossed wires, swam with the sharks, danced with the devil, did not keep Will Smith’s wife’s name out of their mouth, tripped over a land mine, became a fly in the ointment, a monkey in the wrench and a pain in the ass, went down in flames, fell from grace, took a long walk on a short pier, got their comeuppance, plowed another man’s field, threw good money after bad, faced the music, fell into quicksand, burned their bridges, went to a Diddy party, did not play with a full deck, sowed the wind and reaped the whirlwind, was up the creek without a paddle, had their goose cooked, played Russian Roulette with a fully loaded gun, got hoisted on their own petard, doused fire with gasoline, cut off their nose to spite their face, fell on their sword, pooped their pants, threw stones in a glass house, told Clint Eastwood they feel lucky, invested in Enron stock, sailed aboard the Titanic, tugged on Superman's cape, spit into the wind, pulled the mask off the old Lone Ranger and messed around with Jim.
Im so sorry to be that guy, but where the hell were these fans all year when the stadium was empty?
Same thing every fanbase does, save their money. You don't sound like you've heard of the reverse boycott we did a few months ago, at least I think it was a few months ago, idk it mighta been last year, I'm gettin old
He unfortunately doesnt stand a chance in court and will end up paying the gu who ended up with it in his hands lawyer fees. Kids are such babies. Maybe if he would have put his cellphone down he could have actually got it
if he has the money to sue its worth a shot i guess
Kids wasting daddy's lawyer fee money 😂 - should of dropped his phone and got the ball - too bad buddy 😂😂
And he is probably going to have to pay the other guys lawyer fees as well. Little brat kid
Life’s tough, gotta be tougher
Hey you, I know it’s it’s your last day of work but grab a shovel and take my used water bottle. I want some dirt
You seem like the person that would tell the kids to fuck off haha
MLB takes care of their employees. All those men will be fine.
@@Hydepop19 huh. I was just trying to joke. Love that the guy was giving away souvenirs. Id buy some just for the bash bro days memories Mark McGuire usc Trojan baseball

lol good stuff
Total opposite of Parsons! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Da GOAT!!!😎💯
I’m your cousin. Give me your cleats
Real
They think it's as valuable as Ohtani's 50/50 ball.
Nah that’s a loose ball. Nobody had clear possession until the end
He’s gonna be there a while, meanwhile everyone’s thinking I wonder what I can get on eBay for this
So sorry from a Cleveland Indians fan.
sure but you run off with one seat and suddenly it's a manhunt
This is another one of those incidents that will lead teams/parks/whoever to reserve the right to any baseball hit in the stands. This isn’t without precedent: in Japan, ushers will come and take any balls hit into the stands. This whole situation feels slimy, like most smarmy businessmen or used car salesmen. This sort of “might makes right” discourse is absurd and gross. “Well, he ended up with the ball. The teenager never had it” is an absurd argument, because how else would the teenager get a grip on the all? He would have had to have it first. But this grown man holds onto it for dear life and then flaunts his triumph. It’s like schoolyard bullying but with grown men. Idiocy. I also think it’s stupid that these things are so collectible that someone will spend millions of dollars on them. 😅
False. Mlb has a policy in place that It that any ball hit becomes intentionally abandoned property and It belongs to whoever has full possession of It first. Secondly how do you know the teen had possession of the ball? Just because he said so in his lawsuit??? Lol men lie women lie footage doesn’t
@@hustlewilson3693 I’m saying they’ll change the policy if it causes these kinds of problems. And I saw the video. There is enough of a dispute to make it viable-like I said, how did the teenager get hold of the ball after the man had it unless he had it first? But I’m criticizing that whole process, because it rewards psychotic behavior from grown men-that sort of bullying some people have a knack for and pass it off as normal and fair. I’m not even saying the guy should win the lawsuit: it’s going to be hard to prove. But there is no virtue in this grown man scrambling for this ball and ripping it away from other people.
@@fortranwarrior8716it’s only an ACCUSATION. It is not a FACT that the young man had the ball first. Let’s wait until the courts unfold this case. The man in black will of course say he had his hand on It first when he appears in court. If you choose to believe one side, that’s on you but men lie women lie recorded footage doesn’t 💯
@@fortranwarrior8716and so by your logic only kids and teenagers should go after a ball hit into the stands?? Seems like your bothered that the grown men tried to get the ball instead of gifting It to the young man lol white privilege at its finest
Who cares if you think it’s stupid? People value different things. Go get a life.
The part I don’t get about this milestone numbers. Wouldn’t the last homer run ball of the season worth more since that ball should be the record setting ball? Along with the last stolen base.
Wait why is this sad
Because their team and its fan have been at this stadium for so many years and now they are leaving. So with that dirt, is many family and player memories
Because the oaland is a storied franchise and there moving because of money 💰.
So sad
Not from Oakland, this hurt to see
Are you really from Oakland tho
