I did it in Southbury. I printed my application and filled it out right away. I made appointment with town to do finger prints. (Southbury was free..very nice people). You should be totally transparent on application. My understanding is if you don't put something down and it comes up in the background check you will be denied. When I submitted my application to Southbury it took about 7 weeks for them to call me. Then it took me almost 3 months to get appointment with the state. You have to have to NRA pistol permit certification to submit application. The 60 day temp. permit is WORTHLESS. The only thing it is good for is to hand it to the state police to get your permanent permit. You cannot buy ammo or a gun with temp permit. The temporary state permit will say it is good to carry pistols and revolvers but it is NOT! Because of Covid they have extended the temp permit for 150 days I believe. Make your appointment for the state as soon as possible. They are booking almost 4 months out now.

Someone should nail the constitution to the city hall doors and highlight the 2nd amendment. Apparently there is a clause that overrides the US constitution in your town. Please let me know what it is and where I can find it. I want to read it for myself!
