Repairing wine coolers and other devices with Thermo electric cooling.
This video shows how to clean the fins on Thermoelectric cooling systems. This is specific to a wine cooler but will help any thermo-electric cooling system. Thermo-electric cooling is by its nature a weak and inefficient method of cooling. When the fins are caked with dirt it becomes much less efficient at moving the heat from where you don't want it to where you want it to go. I used a pocket knife and toothbrush as the main tools. A strong solution of dishwashing detergent and water helped soften the greasy dirt for easier removal. The devices use a Peltier Plate to move heat in a heat-sink with fins and a fan to dissipate the heat into the open air. Any dirt on the heat sink fins will impede the flow of energy. Dirty fans will move air less efficiently as well. This repair increased the cooling by about 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Peltier Plates are used in mini air-conditioners, wine coolers, some computer gaming systems and a variety of other places.

Samsung Top Loading Washer Out of Balance Spin Cycle Repair/DIY FIX/Suspension Rods Replacement
Having an issue in which the load becomes unbalanced and knocks. Hoping this does the trick. I ordered the parts plus grease off your link and made sure it fits my model. Will update with results in a few days but I’m very hopeful. Either way, thanks for what you do. You get my like and subscription sir.
It has been over a year and my washer still works perfectly. I wish the same for you.
Thanks Dan, you should have link to buy these
Here is a link to the one I bought. ev-lectron.com/products/lectron-nema-socket-splitter-power-your-ev-charger-and-high-powered-appliance-from-the-same-outlet-nema-14-50-to-nema-14-50-nema-14-50-splitter?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA88a5BhDPARIsAFj595hzh0l1NhRs27BEe5RGsxzJr2a9jfn37xWY51nhyxEV05Dh9VPU5I0aAkl3EALw_wcB
@danfixeseverything wonderful this one is more affordable than the one offered on Amazon. Thanks!
Do you have a video of what to do is I’m getting a “not draining” error code?
I do not have a video for that. The most likely cause is a pump failure.

Dan, I replaced the suspension rods but didn't have any grease, I tried to place some of the grease off of the old rods. I put everything back together and it is still unbalance. My question, is would the grease be the cause for this or is there something else that I can do to help with the unbalance. I did see another video on youtube, that was for a different factory washer top loader and they said that they were having the same issue and found the piece underneath the tub that was plastic and wore down. He found a metal replacement piece and it worked for him. Do you know if there is something like this for Samsung's? Or have any other advice to get this working again?
I replaced the shock absorbers in my washing machine and after two uses its shaking again and kicking of what do i do to correct????
Great video. Have the same problem and now I know what I gotta do. Very well explained Thanks
Hi, I watched yours and others videos on replacing suspension rods. Thank you, it was a great video! However, we replaced the suspension rods and the machine is still unbalanced during the spin cycle. The machine stops when banging around and then tries to put in more water and spins again and again. What else can we try? Is there anything else you might suggest if this repair does not work? Thank you so much for any information.
I have not done it but there is a cap at the bottom center of the tub. Removing it reveals a large nut that may be loose or broken. I think it is reverse-threaded. Tighten or replace it.
Amazon ? Your supposed to install OEM parts why would you tell people to get Amazon parts
It was the OEM parts that failed. I chose Amazon because it was the easiest to order from. I spent $40.00 and a year and a half later my washer still works perfectly. It has not gone off balance once. I am showing people how to do the repair and save money. My friend called a repairman and it cost $300.00 for the same job. Everyone is free to choose which parts they use. I am not sponsored and I get no benefit from Amazon.
Thanks for making this video. We have a Samsung top loading washer and it is doing the exact same thing! Gets to 9 minutes, then bangs around and resets to a 17 and starts adding water. I am ordering the rods this week! Thanks for being an honest person!
I wish you well. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Did this fix it?
@@FrogginHawgs Over a year without one out of balance event.
@@FrogginHawgs It fixed mine. Over a year without an out of balance.
Thank you Dan for this video, awesome repair work! Two thumbs up!
I also see you found rods with the black rubber hose around the springs. At this point I think thats a plus.
You need to go back in and correct a few things. The metal part of the rods need Nyogel 767A on them. This is sticky motion dampening grease. Clean all the other grease off the rods. Since you used lithium grease on the the cone shaped plastic topping the spring is now contaminated. Or you could use Samsung dampening grease. It looks like samsung used the black dampening on grease on the attachment points also. Im not sure. Also at least the front right rods top is not hooked into the plastic grove. That will have to be corrected. Anyone else have any suggestions?
My washer started getting ub error and washer was bouncing pretty bad, found your video and right after watching and following your great instructions I ordered new ones on Amazon for 39$ and will be here in 2 days… I will update when I get them and finish the repair 👍
So I installed my tension rods today and got the washer back up and running but… it’s till shaking more than it should and had to stop the first test wash… think it may be the snubber ring or tub bearing I will have to take it apart again to figure this out 😕 kinda bummed but we’ll get her done
I would love to hear how it comes out for you.
Calabration after the repair?
Thanks for the video. at 17:48 you explain what needed to be in the first 30 seconds, which is what screws you took out to get the top open.
Sir thank you for your instructions. My machine of two years is doing the same. Gotta thank the kiddos for overloading. I will order the shocks and install. Again I thank you for the video.
i love your video , keep up the awesome work
Dan, thanks for your honesty!!!! I'm a handyman myself and you'd be surprise how many dishonest repairmen that's out there. This is by far the most sincere and honest repair video I've seen in years!! The world needs more Dan. I'm definitely subscribing.
Thank you, Lucian. I appreciate the kind words.
$65 and one hour. My husband was going to get a😊 new washer until I found videos on youtube. One video showed me how to diagnose it, but you showed me how to fix it. I thou😂ght losing 😢$65 was worth the try rather than replace it😅😊
I am so glad this helped you. I love getting comments like this. Thank you. Dan
What total distance to the car?
The cable is about 20 feet long. My charge port is about 16 feet away.
Just changed these and it works like a charm now. Cost me $45 👍🏻
First off, great video! Like most we switched out the tension rods and it did help. However, our washer still continued to get out of round. After scouring the internet, I found that the washer needs to be leveled. Their are feet on the bottom that will raise the machine. After testing with two books it the front my washer worked like it should. (My husband wanted to take this washer to the curb, I wanted to give one more shot and the books worked). So, bust out a level and that should do the trick. I just washed a load of towels and it sailed on through. I hope this helps!
Wow I'm a plumber went to interview for service company and they did the same thing sell sell I walked out too thanks for your video gonna change the springs on my washer
My guy!You are a real one
Anyone have issues replacing these and washer still having unbalanced loads? Replaced mine and washer still having same issue.
Replaced the rods. No change. I'm going to surround the drum with a foam pool noodle to stabilize it.
I feel compelled to let you know what we did to fix ours since we had such a huge issue as well. Our washer needed to be leveled their feet at the bottom, Get a level and twist the feet at the bottom. Once we did that it's been working ever since.
@PadgettMoomaw I resolved the issue buy buying a new machine. Front loader this time. Old unit was level and the rods replaced. After researching it further the only thing left was the connection between the drive and the drum. I got rid of it.
@@shootsouthpaw7771 😂 I'm pretty sure we'll be doing the same soon.
Can I get a link for the device please? Thanks!!

Check your dryer to see if it has a 3 or 4-prong (newer) outlet. Keep in mind that most dryer outlets have a 30 amp breaker and wiring. You can only safely use a maximum or 24 amps of continuous charging. Check your charger. Mine has worked perfectly for several months and I am very happy with it. I have no affiliation with the company.
Thank you Dan. This video has been extremely helpful. I was dreading trying to have my Samsung washer repaired or replaced. Looking for to attempting this myself. Thanks again.
Hope it works well for you. I did mine over a year ago and it has not gone out of balance once.
Thank you Dan. Ordered rods, went to Home Depot for grease. Will try tomorrow. Our Samsung is only 3 yrs old. Was really surprised. God's blessings.
Hope it works well for you. I did mine over a year ago and it has not gone out of balance once.
@danfixeseverything works great, you're a blessing. Now our whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, have to keep towel in bottom of freezer to soak water?
Replacing the springs is always a possibility. But after reading the comments some people are still having issues and it could be that your washer needs to be calibrated. some samsung washers require you to hold "temp" and "delay end" for 3-5 sec and it should display CB on the screen some will require you to click temp, delay end and the power button too display CB after CB shows up on the screen you hit start and it will calibrate for about 2-5 min. Try this before replacing springs cause it's FREE! And could be your issue. But refer to video if still having issue.
P.S. the washer must be empty to calibrate
Thanks, Dan. I was wondering if it would just keep squirting out when you let off the trigger. This is now on my shopping list. 👍
I'm wondering if there is a way to code the propulsion program to be louder?
I have not found a way to increase the sound level. Thanks for watching.
If you used synthetic damping grease on the old rod you would have saved more money?
I am not familiar with that product.
Thanks so much for this video! I know it takes time and I really appreciate that! Because of you, I was able to fix my washer, by myself, and save a ton of money. My dad taught me how to be handy and my knowledge of tools. He passed away 12/13/2023 (He could work on and fix anything) so, unfortunately, I no longer have his guidance. Your video helped walk me through it. My washer is back to working like the first day I bought it! Thank you so much! Means the world to me 🙏❤️ *also... I believe the ones that say they did this repair and it worked for a while then stopped working again may be overloading their washer by trying to wash too big or too heavy of a load. But, I do recognize that they don't make things like they used to! It's been 4 mos since I repaired mine and it's still working fine.
I am so glad it helped you. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks it helped me alot. God bless ya!
I am glad it works well for you. I did mine over a year ago and it has not gone out of balance once.
Hello. So I just shad the rods replaced. And a week later we are back to an unbalanced load constantly. Any ideas
There is a large nut under the center of the agitator at the bottom of the tub. When the old suspension rods allow the tub to go out of balance and shake severely the nut can loosen or even break. You must remove the cover at the center of the agitator, then remove the screw holding the agitator on and remove the agitator. Then you will see the large nut. Use a wrench to tighten it. It is a left-hand thread so you must tighten it counterclockwise. If it is broken, replace it. Here are links to two videos I found that show how to fix it. I hope this helps you. Hey, try leveling the washer. They're feet at the bottom. Once we leveled our washer it worked. We also replaced the tension rods.
I replace the road but after about two weeks the washer is off balance again. Is there anything else I can do?
I am not sure. I replaced mine over a year ago and it still works perfectly. There is a nut at the bottom center of the tub (on the inside) under a cover. That nut can become loose and even break. It is accessed by removing the cover and it is reverse threaded so you turn it counter-clockwise to tighten it. I have not done the repair myself and do not know anything else.
Hey who's going to pay for all the water this has been wasting. I have a large tub and it's been doing this for months. Here in California we just had a drought. 😅
I hope it works well for you. I did mine over a year ago and it has not gone out of balance once.
I watched this video and i am SO happy to have seen this. However.. the rods from Amazon.. went out within 40 days 😭 back at square one again. So... a THOUSAND thumbs up to this guy and this video... lots of thumbs down to these amazon rods 😞 SPRING FOR THE EXPENSIVE RODS!!!

You know, it's the testamonial at the end that really makes this vid worth watching. I've been avoiding house calls like mad because i KNOW I'm probably going to get the shaft--get it--and would probably be better off researching. learning and doing myself--of course, IF at all possible. I have had great success in the past, and because of vids like these, I know I will have more successes than failures in the future. Thanks Dan!!
Thank you.
Made the repair. Worked great...for a bit. Now im back to square one...

I installed new rods and it still shakes and throwing a code what else could it be
Just not buy an electric, they suck n can't drive everywhere. 2 foot of water and they fry.
Next time remember that the weight/load compresses the spring so greasing up the rod is a messy waste of time and grease. Don't feel bad, most people follow that same pursuit, greasing the wrong direction.🤔😊😂 One last thing, remove the lid tape before locking the top down.
Biggest scam ever coal powered over price commie golf cart. But bet it's a great telephone booth and stereo. But freedom to chose gas or electric is cool. But government forcing largest pollution machines to replace gas cars is wrong. Enjoy your car but careful or to you'll start using 74 different pronouns. Smile everyone get's roasted. I get roasted for using a C-3 Corvette with 540ci blown nitrous motor as a daily driver at the age of 71. Corvettes own by the oldest population of any car brand. Okay no more roasting and will sub/like ange 9nly make nice remarks in future. But as coal is used by electric plants and everyone loved the old stream locomotive trains. Ciuld you put a whiste that siunds like a train just to one up us old timers... Hope you love your car like it's a new 1968 428 cobra jet. Show the color and enjoy life.
At 16 I was driving a GTO, 389 with a four-barrel carb. By 21 it was a Porsche. At 74 I have had a lot of fast cars. My Mach E is a base model. If I had the GT that does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds I might have to give that golf cart a try against the Corvette. When I was in the SCCA we used to race our Porsches against the Vettes. When we set up the track we won. When the Vette guys set it up, they won. By the way, in 2023 electricity generation was 16% coal, 18% nuke, 43% gas, and 23% renewables. Less coal every day. And just for kicks, Ford lets me push a button and turn on a fake motor sound, just for us old-timers. If you ever get to South Florida I would be happy to do car talk over a cup of coffee. I am sure we have a lot in common.
The mach e needs a lot of work to be called a true mustang
As a current Mach-E owner and a former Porsche owner I am saying so what. Porsche's had one distinctive style for over 50 years. If soccer moms can drive the kiddies to school in a Porsche SUV we can live with a Mach-E. My Porsche had a "frunk" too!
Won't work if you want fast charging because most dryers only run off 30 amps. And the higher speed chargers require 80amps
You are correct. Dryers are normally a 30-amp circuit. Circuits are rated for their peak capacity. Continuous capacity is 80% of peak. Therefore the EV charging rate for a dryer circuit would be 24 amps. Exceeding that would be dangerous. If using a dryer outlet please use your charger or vehicle software to limit the charging rate to 24 amps.
Can I get a link for the device you are using please? I don't see it in the description.
