Speedster from a Truck!
This speedster was built from a 1953 Ford F5 pickup truck. Here's a super quick run down of what it took to build it.

Damascus Barrel San Mai Bowie!

How about a san mai style damascus barrel bowie? Do I need commas in that previous sentence? I don't know. I just make things.
Boot Soles on a Sneaker?
Can a complete amateur resole his own sneakers with boot soles? I have just enough reckless disregard for my own things to try it. Boot soles on some sneakers, hello snoots! 1 Month update - There is a bit of separation at the balls of my feet. The toes, arches and heels are still together. 3 Month update - About 60% of the left sole around the toes has separated. As an experiment I'm going to ...
A Knife to Barter With.
In hopes of bartering it for a used engine for my Packard, I make a bushcraft style knife using stock removal and add a super easy hamon.
His and Her Chef Knife Set
This pair of knives was made for a couple that wanted something unique. The knifes are W2 with Kirinite handles and titanium pins. The block is half stained Ash and half Purpleheart.
What would a butcher take to battle?
The answer to a question that nobody asked! What happens when a butcher goes to war? You get a battle ready meat cleaver! This was a fun project and I hope you all enjoy the process. The blade is made from 5160 leaf spring steel and cold blued. The guard, pommel and pommel nut are mild steel and heat blued. The handle is oak and wrapped with a twisted titanium wire because titanium won't rust o...
Scrap Steel Stiletto
What do you do with half a leaf spring, leftover bar stock, loose copper wire and some chunks of purple hard wood? You make a Stiletto! It definitely a challenge that required a mix of old and new techniques, but I think the results speak for themselves.
Making a Wrench from a Leaf Sping
I had a what was left of a leaf spring and thought, well why not make a wrench out of it? The handle is a leftover piece of Black Locust that wasn't turned into fence post. If you add up the hours and time, it's not quite cost effective to make a wrench this way, but it'll serve it's purpose with a bit more class than a store bought piece.
Pocket Knife Blade Replacement
Replacing the blade of a worn out Boy Scout Pocket knife. The whole knife could use some more love, but to get it back into use, I just needed to replace the blade part. I used 5160 steel for the replacement and tempered it a bit more than normal since it'll get some heavy use from the owner. For those asking, the words on the crest on the knife are "Be Prepared."
Cross Peen Hammer Restoration
This Cross Peen Hammer ended up being having harden steel faces, welded to a softer core. I added a black locust handle from a tree that fell a few years ago on the property.
Chisel Restoration
This is just a fun restoration of a chisel that got from a bucket of broken tools at an estate sale. By no means is this a how to video when it comes to proper chisel restoration. I am not a wood worker, nor do I claim to be, but I did enjoy taking something from the scrap pile and turning into a much prettier piece!
New sub! Great video!
I can't believe you didn't clean the knife when you had it apart
For God's sake remake this video and do it right! The kick on the tang of the old original blade was worn down and your blades hitting the rocker spring!!
You spend all that time and effort to carefully take the knife apart then craft a new blade and while you have it apart you don't clean it all up, why?
Suprised you didn't put in the thumbnail groove in the blade.
Abalone scales dress up nicely
I think you should of re-platted the blades and polished the brass.
A knife blade does not become hard just by annealing, for hardening the blade must be surrounded by carbon so that the iron absorbs the carbon and thus turns from iron to steel.
So the first thing you do is skip taking handle off
Almost as crude as my rat rod made from a Jeepster and a Jaguar!
Really want to see more and any improvements you made since posting. Did you shorten the drive shaft? Those wheels look cool too!@
Great looking speedster
What type of steel?
Travail ni fait ni à faire 🐷
Great work but blade profile is a little off, needs a nail notch and bigger tang to get more spring tension. I have not made any blades but replaced a few. I haven’t mastered a good looking nail notch, just used a dremel cutting wheel, effective but ugly.
Excellent! Very Insprational!
Overdid the temper, look for straw not purple.
As a collector, it would be more important for me to preserve the mark than to make a new blade.
too mystakes
way to many mistakes won't function correctly lol
The new blade looks great. But, it has NO SNAP!
because the kick on the tang that makes the snap on the bar spring was worn down and he used the old blade as a pattern! he should of made the kick on the tang stick down further now his blade is hitting the spring to lol
Good work 🍻🇨🇦👨🏻🏭
Love that knife.lost mine in 2011 F5 tornado. Is it for sale?
Outstanding 👏👏👏👏 Happy Motoring ✌️🤠
Very cool! I've been gathering parts to do something similar. A model T cowl, some 46-48 ford passenger car fenders, etc. I will run a straight 6 Ford because I already have an extra one.
KUDOS!
Superb!
What a cool little knife.
Hi, how can I got a knife across to you for a blade replacement?
Nice knife that one.
Did you get the closing of the blade to snap?
Been wondering about this very thing. Thank you thank you thank you.
Great job. The Cub and Boy Scout knives are great knives. I have many of both the Imperial and Camillus models. Why didn’t you put a thumb nail cut in the blade? To each his own. Great work.
I was wondering how he was going to cut that?😊
WOW!! I would not have thought to use a truck to make a speedster. Just fantastic!! I cannot say enough great things about your artistry!!
good job.👍👍👍👍
Be
Pure Genius --- Wish we could have seen some of the building process.
Check out Macro Machines here on youtube. Young man is building a speedster from the ground up. And I do mean "building", total metal fab etc.
I like that blade profile.
Are you taking on new projects? I have a Remington RS3333 with a blade broken exactly like this one I would love to have repaired as it is very sentimental
2:26 Hi what year/ model is the Chevy Straight 6? Thank you. 🍷😃
I would love to see how these held up. I'm about to try and put boot soles on my converse
How'd it go? I'm about to do the same thing
@@ballsonballsonballs I ended up actually gluing mountain bike tire tread to the bottom of my converse. It went awesome!
Nice Imperial. Never seen one like it.
Really enjoyed this one. Amazing creativity brother
Beautiful
Love it.
I did something similar. I sectioned/narrowed a 1980 Jeep CJ-7 body (front half) and mated it to a 1927 Buick frame (shortened/narrowed). It’s a single seat car. In-line 6 Chevy 250 with a T400 trans.
