The sequel to the critically acclaimed and fan favorite The Last of Us came out to be one of the most divisive and controversial video games of all time. Despite being praised by critics, a lot of fans felt disappointed by some of the decisions made by Naughty Dog, especially the ones involving the game's story. Although 5 years have passed since the game's release and there's no shortage of videos and articles talking about The Last of Us Part II, there's still an aspect of the game's story that I haven't seen anybody talking about: the fact that fatherlessness is an overly present theme in the game. By trying to expose this theme through this video, I also attempt to further illuminate the reasons why the game got its controversial reception and how it might possibly relate to the reality of its audience.
